Abilities- has infiltrator and stealth. When leading a unit of rangers gives full re-rolls to the wound rolls. And gives their entire unit the benefit of lone operative.
As someone said before, they discontinued the model, so I feel this list was made with models that ARE available rather than things that exist in the sidelines that NO ONE remembers outside of Aeldari palyers.
I would absolutely have gone for the Shokkjump Dragsta. 3+ BS, Devastating Wounds, it teleports, and it has a smaller footprint than 20+1 boyz. The fact that it's a smoke belching, engine revving, tire-squealing vehicle just makes it more satisfyingly orky to me. It's probably still quieter than that mob of boyz...
CSM also has the Mater of Possession, who does a much better job. If the Grey Knights librarian counts, MoP definitely does! It has an 18 inch range, but all the other stats are good for sniping characters. And unlike traitor guard, MoPs actually regularly kill characters.
I have every Tuesday off. Absolutely love watching an episode of Poorhammer while I tidy up the house even if I haven’t pulled the trigger on buying and painting an army yet
I like that there's a wide spectrum of soldiers with big, long, heavy rifles and then the Orks just have a rowdy mob of hooligans led by a half naked weirdo who will angrily shakes his stick at things, which has a chance to make them explode.
Important note on death jester. Fate's messenger gives a free 6 once per turn. You can use a fate dice to give him a second 6. So in precision thats a near garunteed 4mw to a character. Thats messed up.
World Eaters is that one student that has a special interest (melee), that you keep trying to accommodate when possible, because otherwise they refuse to do the assignment. "Yes World Eaters, you can include your ace, just be sure to also include some information about a ranged weapon, maybe speak about how they work together."
I would have nominated Despoilers for Chaos Knights. Snipers have a bullet with your name on it. Grenades are addressed "To whom it May Concern." An average of 28x S10 AP-1 D3 Blast shots is signed "Dear Grid Coordinates..."
Kinda suprised you didn't pick Larkin for the guard. I know he's part of a unit but still: 36'' range, BS 2, heavy, precision, str 5, AP-2, 4 dmg with stealth, lone op and infiltrators.
For Aeldari I think you're overlooking Illic Nightspear. Has a more powerful sniper rifle with Dev wounds, has all the stealthy abilities you could ask for. Can lead rangers to give them wound rerolls to help with their 4 strength. He ticks every box for an A.
You missed "Ork" Sniper. It's stats are identical to a vindicares for some weird reason and it only targets imperial forces that have pissed off the higher ups. And are totally orks.
The idea of a 50-calibre hair clip (barrette, which is what Brad said, rather than Barrett, which places the emphasis on the first syllable) had me laughing so hard I had to rewind. Mission accomplished, lads!
Death guard have Typhus that is still able to use his eater plague ability on lone ops as long as he gets within 18" of them. Its not a shooting attack so hes able to pick anyone he can see within 18"
I see your problems with rangers and I raise ilic nightspear his rifle voidbringer is 1A BS 2+ S 6 AP -3 D 3 dev wounds heavy and precision also he give rangers the ability to reroll wounds if you wanted to throw him in with rangers
Yeah he woul've scored A LOT better. The main issues were low strength and not enough stealth when Illic Nightspear solves all of that. Easy A+ for Nightspear, even without a squad to lead.
What about Illic Nightspear for the Aeldari? He's got a much more threatening sniper than the rangers, has lone op, stealth and infiltrate, and has a strength 6, D3, -3 weapon with a 48 inch range.
Shouldn't Illic Nightspear be the one for Aeldari? 48" 1A BS2+ S6 AP-3 D3 Dev Wounds, Heavy, Precision? Reroll Wounds and gives his unit lone operative.
Very fun class. I do think the Helvren knights might be able to argue a D-, long range, big punch gun, and anti-fly 2+. Not character sniping, but lots of things have fly...
For Imperial Guard, I am interested in how you would rate the sniper from Gaunts Ghost "Larkins Long las." It's the same profile as the Ratling Snipers except it hits on 2+ and does 4 damage which, if it penetrates, is enough to kill a vast majority of leaders from other factions. Plus by being in Gaunts Ghost you can always be in the range of an enemy leader model on top of being a lone operative and stealth.
I’d say for the aeldari rangers, most of their units are slightly under many other factions due to the fact they factor warlock/ farseer buffs and debuffs into account. Shooting against a doomed unit with guide on them would help them out a lot. But yes, comparing just stat lines and base abilities to other units, I feel it’s a great place you guys ranked them.
Sanctus has some stats wrong. Sniper is Strength 7, Sanctus has a 5+ Invulnerable, and the Psychic Spoor ability makes him an excellent single-target-deletion-button.
Back in the day I would have said Pathfinders with Rail Rifles for Tau.... They were scouts, looked like a beefed up rifle, they could target different targets from the rest of the unit.... back then precision wasn't really much of a thing. But I feel like the whole sniper interacting with markerlights is pretty thematic for a sniper... plus rails are quiet right?
"Rangers dont have ways of getting around their low strength." This is Illiac Nightspear erasure. Also you can theoretically make Rangers a ten man squad which while pushing the upper limits of size do make them a lot more threatening to anything down their sightline.
I think deathmarks are an underrated unit. Especially when you can have them in hypercrypt. Deepstriking in to kill a character, maybe score a secondary, then being picked back up to do it again is really useful
The best part about the weirdboy is that if you have 20 boyz you can have another (warboss) character leading the unit. so if you attach ufthak blackhawk to that unit, you get 20 boyz, a weirdboy and ufthak blackhawk that can deepstrike in and go for the snipe.
What was pictured is the Vindy's old sheet. His new rifle is s8 and is pistol is s6, can pierce lone op, he lost the additional damage on crit hit, and shieldbreaker got reworked from once per game no saving throws to once per game +1 to wound and successful wounds crit (has dev wounds still) so it's just a reworded buff.
6:25 With the updated army rules the ballistic skill is improved by 1 AND given heavy. So depending on how you rule if the improvement of ballistic counts as modifying the hit roll, it could go down to 1+! even if not, a total BS of 2+ on the skatros almost constantly is pretty good.

"Rangers have no way to get around low strength like re-roll wounds like other units"
Illic Nightspear cries himself to sleep in a corner.
Ik I wish they at least mentioned him
It's almost as if these guys don't like Eldar.
@@Jazehiah Who does?
@@dawidkazmierczak7283 I do. They are my first army. Aeldari are cool.
If GW wants Tau to be the shooting army then they should have the best sniper.
they do. its the lone spear. but they didn't pick it for the entry because??? for the lolz?
@@mhicks31 When else are you gonna include the Firesight realistically?
@@yichlyichl4204 I mean, I have a list that includes 3 of them. lol. but their primary role is as lone op observers. not snipers.
Sadly, T'au haven't been the shooting army in a few editions now. They get outshot by Necrons, Marines, Aeldari, formerly Votann, and arguably Guard.
@@SarajevoKyoto Right they gave us only one stik in the game that we get constant grief for and now we aren't even that strong in it anymore, like I'm not asking for op lvls again but at least to be in the top 3 cause its literally all we have.
Also if Tau are so superior in long range vision and tech you'd think we would have at least one god tier sniper troop or character.
Y'all skipping the a+ for Eldar makes me a bit sad. Illic Nightspear was right there, and you chose rangers.
48" range, 1 shot, 2+ ws, 6 s, -3 ap, 3 damage.
Precision, devastating wounds, heavy.
Abilities- has infiltrator and stealth. When leading a unit of rangers gives full re-rolls to the wound rolls. And gives their entire unit the benefit of lone operative.
Lmao yeah i was thinking "easy A+ for the Eldar for this video" only for them to not even mention Nightspear lol 😭
I feel like CSM should just be a havoc squad with autocannon or something
even just a Master of Possession
CSM also has the Mater of Possession, who does a much better job. If the Grey Knights librarian counts, MoP definitely does! It has an 18 inch range, but all the other stats are good for sniping characters. And unlike traitor guard, MoPs actually regularly kill characters.
Illic could lead the aeldari ranger unit and give them re-roll to wounds, jacks up the price but he does have a cool sniper of his own ! :D
I wish the guard's sniper submission had been the Shadowsword
Rather deathstrike from lore perspective.
I have every Tuesday off. Absolutely love watching an episode of Poorhammer while I tidy up the house even if I haven’t pulled the trigger on buying and painting an army yet
The Grey Knights Librarian - "I snipe you with my mind!" (in the shooting phase because there is no psychic anymore).
I like that there's a wide spectrum of soldiers with big, long, heavy rifles and then the Orks just have a rowdy mob of hooligans led by a half naked weirdo who will angrily shakes his stick at things, which has a chance to make them explode.
Orks could’ve also submitted the shockjump dragsta. 24 inch range, precision, D6 plus 1 damage, devastating wounds, 3+ ballistic skill.
Love that tall boi is too tall for the screen at 6:43
Should've used Sagittarum Custodes for their section, least could have gotten some points for the ap, damage and once per battle dev wounds.
No precision. We just need a lone op eye of the emperor with a lascannon.
@AggressiveLemur hell just get a bigass custodian with some tank barrel he ripped off a rogal dorn or something
@@arandomsquidward7761effectively
Important note on death jester. Fate's messenger gives a free 6 once per turn. You can use a fate dice to give him a second 6. So in precision thats a near garunteed 4mw to a character. Thats messed up.
World Eaters is that one student that has a special interest (melee), that you keep trying to accommodate when possible, because otherwise they refuse to do the assignment. "Yes World Eaters, you can include your ace, just be sure to also include some information about a ranged weapon, maybe speak about how they work together."
*axe
I love this podcast not bc I play or have any idea about tabletop but bc there’s something soothing about hearing nerds talk about numbers
you forgot the Night Spear who ironicly goes with Rangers and shoots better than all of them
I would have nominated Despoilers for Chaos Knights.
I mean when else are you going to whip out the friggin ratlings?
I really thought my boy was gonna get the spotlight on this one, and then the short ones ambushed us 😔
deathgaurd has typhus 18:52 with the psyker ability he has a sniper ish thing
Treu
Surprised Illic Nightspear wasn't your Aeldari pick if the Vindicare Assassin is the golden standard. Also, Zoanthropes?
The axe carried by the Master of Executions looks like the handle is bacon wrapped. 🥓
Brad: "I need a minimum of 24" to make me happy."
I figured he was a size queen, but damn.
For Aeldari I think you're overlooking Illic Nightspear.
Has a more powerful sniper rifle with Dev wounds, has all the stealthy abilities you could ask for. Can lead rangers to give them wound rerolls to help with their 4 strength. He ticks every box for an A.
I was half expecting to just see every imperium faction have vindicare as their pick
You missed "Ork" Sniper. It's stats are identical to a vindicares for some weird reason and it only targets imperial forces that have pissed off the higher ups. And are totally orks.
The fact that the tall boy is out of frame is just perfect.
Having the Skatros out of frame is absolutely hilarious!
AdMech Tallboy sounds like a beer from a nerd-friendly bar. I love it!
Its not a shooting attack so hes able to pick anyone he can see within 18"
If i had a nickel for every time Eric summited a psyker as a sniper I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice.
This might actually be my favourite Poorhammer podcast.
Sanctus actually got a buff with the codex, his ability improved and his sniper got highier strenght
40:50 "Where's the rifle?" "It's under the sauce- I mean, drone."
I’m appalled that you didn’t mention Illic nightspear. He makes up for the low strength with reroll all wounds
I see your problems with rangers and I raise ilic nightspear his rifle voidbringer is 1A BS 2+ S 6 AP -3 D 3 dev wounds heavy and precision also he give rangers the ability to reroll wounds if you wanted to throw him in with rangers
You guys could have gone with Illic Nightspear for Aeldari he would have scored quite a bit better
Yeah he woul've scored A LOT better. The main issues were low strength and not enough stealth when Illic Nightspear solves all of that. Easy A+ for Nightspear, even without a squad to lead.
Almost left early but then got to hear Brad read "Don't touch my dingaling" totally worth sticking around 😂
while the weirdboy was probably the better choice, i would have submitted the Shokk Attack Gun mek! love me SAG mek
What about Illic Nightspear for the Aeldari? He's got a much more threatening sniper than the rangers, has lone op, stealth and infiltrate, and has a strength 6, D3, -3 weapon with a 48 inch range.
Not using the Tyrannofex for Tyranids is a straight up crime, my son deserves his flowers!
There should be a “grade sheet” at the end of these episodes as an overview of “the class”
Berelio leaving the Admech tall boy half out of frame the entire segment…*chefs kiss*
I was waiting for the Death Jester, that model made me want to play Eldar.
Love these episodes! Can't wait for every factions Fisher
Deathmarks don't so much sneak around as they just hop out of their pocket dimension at an ideal vantage point, take the shot, then dip back in.
10 views, 25 likes, 3 comments but only 2 of them shown. I love youtube shenanigans.
Views are counted when clicking of the video
I love these! Every time you do one, there’s always a curve ball 😂.
Also, hope Brad is doing better. Seemingly having a bit of a mare last few weeks.
Typhus' ability is arguably the sniper option for deathguard.
Another great video!!
Lov this series and the goffy rants
I was curious about which of the 12 options you woule pick gor our blue boys of the T'au, and I was not disappointed
The Knight Castellan is a “sniper” and has 72” rage making it the best
Sanctus has some stats wrong. Sniper is Strength 7, Sanctus has a 5+ Invulnerable, and the Psychic Spoor ability makes him an excellent single-target-deletion-button.
If the Vindicare Assassin is the benchmark you are grading by, you should have selected Illic Nightspear for the Eldar
When i saw the world eater's bolt pistol having -6 ap i freaked out
If I may ask, could we get every faction’s Primarch/Master? Like, the really big flashy epic hero that is the perfect example of that faction?
Back in the day I would have said Pathfinders with Rail Rifles for Tau.... They were scouts, looked like a beefed up rifle, they could target different targets from the rest of the unit.... back then precision wasn't really much of a thing. But I feel like the whole sniper interacting with markerlights is pretty thematic for a sniper... plus rails are quiet right?
"Rangers dont have ways of getting around their low strength."
This is Illiac Nightspear erasure.
The mutant civilian with a pipe rifle outshooting most professionals, woof.
That grey knights librarian has a special place in my heart. It one-shot my mate’s psychophage, and it was glorious.
I'm so keen to get some new merch next payday! I needs a memes are cannon shirt in my life!
Before even watching: Tyranids better have turned in the haruspex! Untterly unhinged!
it happend, im satisfied!
As far as Snipers for the Guard go, I thought you'd go with Gaunt's Ghosts, although they have only one weapon with precision in it.
Love this series! I vote for a special episode about boats where Drukhari fibally get A+
