I bought mine in December 2021 along with my new production Python. They were my first Colts. I love shooting this thing. ❤ I intend to buy a second one at some point. Maybe yours if its still available.
Just got mine yesterday love it! Gotta send it back for refinishing because I found 2 scribbles on the trigger guard spaces. Gorgeous and I’m keeping it! Nice video man!
Thanks for watching. If you bought it recently, you might want to call Colt and make sure there is no recall on it. I was told a recent batch had to all be returned for recall. You can scan the white asset tag that comes on the trigger guard to see what the manufacture date was as well.
That’s good news man. I bought my Delta Elite just last Tuesday.I did call and they haven gotten in touch yet. I really hope they can make acception and re-work the finish. Thank you very much bro!
anytime...hope they can get it done. If not, there are a few things you can try to polish it up. I have used Cape Cod polish cloths and they have helped.@@picsure
$2500 is insane. Colt just did a run of these. You can find them all over gunbroker for $1500 and below. Now is a good time to pick one up though. As they become scarce when the current production run gets sold out, prices will go up a little. Even then, you can expect to pay around $1800 for one.
Hey there, I never made it over to the shop today. i'll stop by tomorrow. I can only assume for the high number it must be a special run or maybe a customized job. I spent some time on gun broker and i never saw anything near$2500 i'll report back when i know exactly which model it is. This shop was the only shop that even had 1 let alone 2 in stock.. they also had the 10mm glock in stock - which was also in the running.@@dhcarms
Hey, OK... this is the scoop. I went to the shop and inspected pistols. It turns out the $2500 was some "talo" job with fake ivory grips and all kinds of inscribing on it.- it looked pretty for about 5 seconds. the model for $1300 was a model 02020XE CDE MKIV MODEL 0 it looks like everyother DE that i have seen. think i'm gonna pick it up@@dhcarms
Hey, Yeah , When i got to the shop the guy brought out 2 of them- The model you have here($1400) and the other one which was a "talo" model it was a bit fancier than this one THAT one was the $2500 one both were new. i'm guessing that the more expensive one had some work done to it or something. I was able to purchase the standard one for $1400.@@Skibidiscones
Still no ramped barrel? I noticed it doesn't have front cocking serrations or any stippling on the front strap. Single side safety. No undercut on the trigger guard. I wonder how much MIM is in it, these days? I want to want it, but paying $1200 for an unfeatured Series-80 1911 is pretty steep when a Tisas D10 is under $800, for a Series-70, full forged basically MIM-free, with a ramped barrel. The Delta Elite is a classic, but Colt has to step up their game. There aren't a lot of people that are going to pay $400 for those plastic Delta medallion grips.
I have i bought a blue one in 1998. It was a beautiful gun shot flawlessly. Never a hicup. I prefere the dove tail of the older moder. The big ugly upswept DT just look stupid. I have never been bitten by any 1911. Not even gi issue.

Awesome..I have had 2 in lately and they both sold right away...They are short supply and high demand....I hope I can get some more in.
