I am suffering from a severe ankle injury which requires bed resting. I bought a Switch Oled and it is the only thing that keeps me sane these days. Currently enjoying Luigi mansion 3.
I have leukemia so I’m in bed a lot. I am receiving treatments and kicking cancers ass. I always been a huge pc gamer.. I have a pc with a 4090 even.. I bought an oled switch because I’m in bed and man I swear it’s awesome. I have not even thought of my pc.. not saying it replaced it but It’s truly not always about graphics. I love how Nintendo just makes great games. I am Currently playing Metroid dread and Tears of The kingdom and Mario Odyssey. It’s a beautiful system and has made me feel like a kid again. I don’t care if you have pc, Xbox or PlayStation. You need a switch…Can’t recommend it enough.
my birthday is tomorrow and since I don't get any gifts, I decided to get it for my self! I placed an order for the switch oled yesterday and it is arriving tomorrow. I am so excited! (I am still in school so I had to save up for it)
I’m a dad who played Nintendo since it first dropped recently started gaming again n bought this the oled version and I don’t regret it at all now I’m buying all types of accessories for it to make gaming w my daughter more fun or just alone when my daughter isn’t with me and I have free time
I'm hugely interested in acquiring the oled version. My main reason to buy it is to play single-playing games like Breath of the Wild, but sometimes I miss the nostalgic feeling of sharing the fun in gameplay with 3+ people in the same space/household. So I want to see what it is like to play Mario Kart again in my new family, or even taking back the feelings of playing Streets of Rage 4 say, with my husb, because I really love the uniqueness that feels when you play a beat'em up, especially with help, it feels like you can take on anyone, the whole world if necessary.
I bought one for exactly that reason. someone stole my 3DS while i was traveling and I decided to buy a switch because it serves as a new wii and handheld device in one plus the benefit of the new zelda games.
I’m a long time pc gamer but finally grabbed a switch a couple weeks ago . I wasn’t expecting much since I’m used to 4K or at least 1440p gaming depending on the game .. but honestly the switch has been a blast . It’s my first console I’ve owned in years since and first Nintendo console since the GameCube . I mainly wanted it for botw totk and multiplayer games for when my nieces and nephew are up to play Mario kart and party but damn it’s been so much fun and the 720p oled screen doesn’t bother me at all ! I play it way more in handheld than I thought I would and didn’t realize how many 1st party exclusives I’ve been missing out on beyond Zelda . Line fire emblem three houses has been a blast so far ! Such a cool device , glad I got it honestly . Theres something so charming and comforting about a lot of Nintendo exclusives
Retrogame 300 is better game console than nintendo switch! Why? It has lots of free games on it. Switch u have to pay games on it.. I regret getting a nintendo switch. :(
agreed... I actually have a steam deck too and imo switch is better (for me) as there is zero fuss... pop in a physical game and play. Will I give up PC gaming... nope, but playing switch the most.
I used to have a Switch Lite but the screen was way too small. Playing BotW and TotK was incredibly difficult. Playing both on the OLED is AMAZING. The screen is the absolute perfect size which makes playing handheld so much easier.
15:07 I did exactly that. I got my Switch Lite for Christmas in 2021 & although I do love it, I realized later on that it wasn't really what I wanted in terms of a "handheld." It just felt a little small for me because I have big hands & plus, I wanna be able to play the Switch games on the TV as well as taking it with me everywhere I go. More importantly, you brought a good point that I did not even know about until right now. I wanna be able to use multiplayer whenever I'm playing with my friends when we play either Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros Ultimate. So, I'm definitely gonna pick up a Switch Oled at some point, maybe for Christmas this year.
Can talk about the graphical superiority of the PS5 and Xbox but when it comes down to games, the Switch just has the best on offer. People would never stop talking about games like Fire Emblem Three Houses or Xenoblade Chronicles 3 if they were on PlayStation. Masterpieces.
Couple of minor things: - The 720p resolution in handheld and 1080p in docked mode is the maximum it can support, meaning that some games actually run on lower resolutions than that in both modes. - There are 4 models of the Switch (exluding the special editions) because the OG day one Switch received a refreshed version which is called the Switch V2. So to recap, there is the Switch, Switch V2, Switch Lite and Switch OLED.
@@Scot-land the v2 come in a red box with no background other than the switch. The v2 was released in 2019 so if you bought it in 2019 or later it should be the V2
@@Scot-land There's only one thing you need to know, especially if you don't have the box. Look at the number on the back. If it's HAC-001 it's the old one (2017-2018) and unfortunately has a really inefficient computer chip that will only net you a little over 2 hours of battery life. If it's HAC-001(-01) then it's the 2nd gen V2 2019-2023 version with the new computer chip and will generally get a little over 4 hours of battery life. If you have the HAC-001(-01) then you actually have the same chip as the OLED and thus will get almost identical battery life to the new OLED.
I just bought a switch lite and I love it so much ❤ I actually prefer playing only handheld, I love handhelds since my husband got me a Nintendo DS lite back in 2009. Now I play my switch lite and my 3DS XL every chance I get
As of October 2023 I am getting one. I am getting it for Mariokart, the Zeldas and various 2D games like Ori, Metroid Dread, Donkey KongKong, the new Sonic and Mario games. I grew up around 2D Nintendo games, and no PS5 teraflops of processing power can give me that joy. I was looking at PS5 a while ago and there was like 3 games that really looked interesting to me.
My first switch was the v2, then i bought the lite, for travelling . but later sold it. Then bought an OLED.. yes the screen is loads better. Even though its only slightly bigger, when in handheld mode, it makes the switch feel and look bigger.
I had gotten the switch version 1 first loved had it for a couple of years then went to the switch version 2 I still have its been about 4 years now with the switch version 2 now I am going to be getting an oled next
I have an OLED Switch and I love it! I mainly play in handheld mode, so that’s why I got the OLED. I considered the lite, but I do play with my dad sometimes, and I like the flexibility. Also, the Switch’s party trick is being able to switch, so to me, the lite seems to lack a clear sense of purpose.
Of course the switch is worth buying in 2023, and beyond , it’s the Greatest insole of my life time , I’m 50, I sent 3 switched to El Salvador for my nephews and Nieces, there is such a demand for it and it’s so appreciated like it just came out.
Got a lite for a couple reasons. Local multiplayer is pretty occasional & I've got a gamecube with multiple controllers already for Smash/Mariokart and some others friends & I find nostalgic. By myself the main times I have to play games are in bed falling asleep, on the train etc. I like a lot of 2D games that are fun to play in short bursts like Shredder's revenge. To me it's just basically the best "gameboy" I've ever had + you can find them pretty cheap on marketplace.
I bought my switch oled like 3 weeks ago after losing my v2 switch in 2022. I resolved to wait but when I received some extra money I bought it as soon as I got off work. I don’t regret it at all, I needed it!!
I just bought the switch oled! I could care less about the graphics or upgrading to the switch 2. Even if the switch 2 has games just for the new gen I am fine with that because there is so many good games on the current gen!
Retrogame 300 is better game console than nintendo switch! Why? it has loads of free games on it, switch u have to pay games on it. I regret buying the switch.
Nice analysis of the Nintendo switch, but I feel people need to stop comparing it to the PlayStation five and Xbox series X It’s obviously not gonna be anywhere near as power as those systems and I’d like the unique graphic style of Nintendo Switch games also first party, Nintendo Switch games that have a great look in their own way. Yes, the hardware is outdated but first and foremost, it is a portable system that can double up as a console mode home console in docked mode, I personally think that the Nintendo switch is comparable to the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation which isn’t a bad thing yes it’s not good in terms of you know currently, but I think that generation had great graphics and it’s not a bad thing that the switch in terms of graphical performance is compared to them. In my opinion, I recently got a Mario edition Nintendo switch owned and I’m loving it, it’s revitalised my love for gaming.
Ok So I think I'm coming to the realization that I probably wanna get either the OLED or regular BASED on what good Mario bundles they got this year lol. My friend who works for Nintendo said that a NEW console might be coming out in 2024 so might either be good to hold off OR buy the regular cuz it's cheaper and you wont feel bad once the new one comes along and you wanna upgrade
Worth it? Yes. I bought 2 a couple of months ago. A OLED and a lite for my 5 year old. I already have a great game collection both digital and cartridges.
The thing i love about my switch oled is that mot only the ports u get but also can take wm with you even though u dont have ps5 or xbox graphics u still got gameplay and that to me is mist important hats off to Nintendo!😊😊😊
I lost my right leg below the knee back in July of '23, and was in the hospital for almost a month and a half - my Switch was an absolute godsend. Switch life!
I just got one the other day and I'm enjoying it immensely. I haven't bought a Nintendo console since the Gameboy Advance in 2002. Which I still own was playing it until recently and was like why don't I just get what the new thing is?
I bought a Switch Lite, which happens to be my first Nintendo console, and for the most part, I really enjoy it as a secondary console. I personally didn't need any multiplayer functionalities on the Switch as any friends I game with are on other platforms, and I also didn't plan on playing my Switch in TV mode at all since I have an Xbox Series S and PS5 as my main consoles, which obviously offer significantly better performance. I'm not a fan of Nintendo exclusives either--not to deny they are probably objectively great games, but from everything I have tried, they are just not to my taste--particularly since I didn't grow up with Nintendo to have any sort of nostalgic pull towards Mario or Zelda or Pokemon. Instead I use my Switch to buy duplicates of AAA games that I play properly on my Xbox, so I can boot up a new save and have something to play on the go. And while I find the Switch's performance in games like The Witcher 3 or Hogwarts Legacy can be well below its PS4/Xbox One competitors, let alone the new generation of consoles--to the point that if you are more keen on these sorts of games I would strongly recommend buying an Xbox Series S, or even PS4 Pro instead at a similar price, to experience these games for the first time--I am honestly rather astounded that the Switch can run these titles in the first place on its hardware, am I am delighted that I can continue playing them while travelling or commuting, even if the performance suffers. Ultimately if it only came down to one console, unless you are strongly drawn to Nintendo exclusives or plan to do the majority of your gaming in handheld mode, I would very much advocate for the Xbox Series S--for true next gen performance at the same price as a regular Switch, relative portability that I feel often gets overlooked, a much wider library of cross-platform games and commitment to backward compatibility (made even more accessible through Xbox Game Pass/cloud gaming), and overall insane value for money. But if your tastes in gaming are anything like mine, and you can shell out an extra couple hundred dollars, from my experience the Switch Lite is a really nice companion. If you have something like a Series S you're probably going to prefer that if you're planning to invest 100-200 hours into an open world game, so you're not met with 90-second loading screens and consistent FPS dips which will constantly break your immersion within the game--even if that means starting a new save on the go. And yet, the ability to take some of your favourite titles with you wherever you are is really astounding, which is not to mention that the Switch makes gaming so much more accessible within the comfort of your home, where you can pick up your handheld while stretched across the sofa and dive back into the world, even on nights when booting up your TV seems like too much effort. Having said all of that, I am keeping a very close eye on the (very probable) Switch 2 which is likely to come out later this year. *If* Nintendo can increase performance enough to actually exceed the PS4/Xbox One on a handheld, even if it doesn't quite match up to a Series X/PS5--and in turn, inevitably entice more AAA ports--I would actually be inclined to buy the full-fat Switch with TV capabilities, and make that a main platform for sinking time into its available games instead of just buying duplicates: for the benefit of being able to take my saves on the go--so long as the performance dip on newer games, compared to a Series S, is no longer pronounced enough as to break my immersion. That is what it would take for me personally to consider the Switch as a primary console in the future. Nevertheless, even for someone who is not really after Nintendo exclusives, if you travel/commute/vegetate on the couch enough to have opportunities to use the Switch Lite, I have not regretted buying mine. Anyway this is just my (very non-professional) two cents from personal experience, if it helps anyone whose tastes are anything like mine and who is in the market for a new console :)
The OLED is actually slightly bigger. It's why it can't fit into many grips or cases made for the OG model. It's a very small difference but it's there.
I am loving my Nintendo Switch Oled, I have not gotten the PS5 or Xbox Series X and I don't plan to get those consoles but Nintendo with their vast library of games I had to pick to pick it up, And the beautiful Oled screen is well worth it, I would recommend the switch to anybody that wants a fun gaming experience
Brilliant video. Couldn't agree more. I own a Switch Lite but I want to buy the new Mario red OLED Switch. Apparently the OLED screen is awesome. I can't wait to experience ToTK in handheld and docked mode...Thank you for work. I love your content. 👌
Switch simply has the best games coming out. Plus, I don't know a single person who actually gives a crap about graphics and frames per second. But I'll have to pick up an X-box (or gaming PC) when, eventually, a Quake reboot hits shelves (or if Elder Scrolls 6 is as good as I hope it will be).
Bro the Oled is honestly worth getting used still. I'm so satisfied with the Switch Oled that I don't really care to get a new system until halfway through 2025
@@Wario1382 I actually bit the bullet and got it. So far no regrets. OLED is so nice, it makes me wonder if I would even want a switch 2 if it releases without OLED :P.
I will buy the Oled TOTK version around black Friday. Even if some sort of Switch 2/Pro releases in, let's say a year, it will take years until it will have a decent game library. So I have no problem waiting a couple of more years until I pick up a next gen Nintendo console, enjoying my Switch in the meantime.
@@emezter I agree. Ended up buying the Switch OLED as I use it mostly in handheld mode and wanted a nice screen. I might buy the new switch when it releases depending on the hardware configuration, like if it can accept switch cartridges and if it has an OLED screen. Otherwise I might wait a year or two! Once you are used to OLED, it’s hard going back! I love the OLED screen on the switch and iPhones :3
I have a total of 5 Switches. 1 OG Switch V.1 that is still perfect, Switch V.2 that's more of trying out games out of dock, OLED White that is my main switch right now, and both a Splatoon OLED and Tears of the kingdom OLED. I still keep my switch docked most of the time but I absolutely adore this console.
@@Codyslx First model was used intensely until the OLED was out and I bought the white version. The V2 was given by my friend since he bought himself a new one and wanted to give me a birthday gift. Splatoon 3 version was a Christmas gift because it looked amazing. Tears of the kingdom was bought along with another because it also looked sick and my mother wanted me to have all the tears of the kingdom items for my birthday. I keep the other two OLED boxed just in case the main white one is ever busted and the V2 with scratches and one messed up speaker is used as handheld and testing games portable.
Why do barely any people watch these? This is the first video on this channel that I have watched and honestly, I am impressed! Keep up the good work! (I am your 85th like!)
I got 2 switch consoles, a basic one that lives in the dock next to my tv, and i got a Switch Lite to play on the go / in my bed. I actually prefer the Switch lite, because of the D-pad on the left side, instead of 4 buttons. I recommend to buy a grip for the switch lite, it feels amazing to play on.
I'm a big retro console fan from SNES and Game Boy to Gamecube, to the point where I haven't owned or played a single console game since Gamecube and Game Boy Advance in 2003 or so and even I'd say the Switch isn't just the most revolutionary console in 15-17 years, but by far and away the most revolutionary console ever. The Switch game library is the best of all time and it brought me back, and how couldn't it be? Developers know that if you're not creating games on the Switch, you're missing out on the most important gaming device probably of all time when it's all said and done. It's a device that gives you not only every type of console you'd ever want, all in 1 box, but executes on each dynamic from handheld to tabletop to TV completely flawlessly. Whatever comes after the Switch, whether it's more of a "Switch 2" or something completely new, there's no way it can be as innovative as a console that combined every type of gaming into one, all in 1 generation without any flaws. I actually hope it's just an updated Switch with different screen size options, 1080p, all OLED and maybe 2 or 3 different joycon style options. That's really all we need.
I had the switch lite and changed to Oled this week. It's a phenomenal console and worth it. Specially you can play retro games on it and it's a very cool feature.
I have loved my Switch. I picked it up in…2021? 2022? And absolutely love it. I do have a PC that can run some of the stuff that doesn’t run on/didn’t come out for the switch. But I really want to play on the switch when I can cause it’s just so convenient. Also, I love having access to Nintendo’s exclusives. I tend to like lighter more “fun” games in general.
I just bought one too. It's expected to arrive Wednesday. I already know I definitely made the right decision. I grew up on Arcades, the NES, Super Nintendo and Gameboy, so I'm going back to my gaming roots by buying a Nintendo Switch.
I just bought a switch oled as I’m really getting into rogue likes such as hades and other indie games. The larger main titles are amazing too! The versatility is brilliant when you have 2 young kids and have to go from room to room all the time. The oled screen is gorgeous especially with hades!
Dead ass bro. The Nintendo switch is the best console ever. I went and have the Splatoon 3 limited edition and that's my main switch because when they announced it, I went all out crazy. I got the tears of the Kingdom Pro Controller the switch itself and the special edition game bundle, which is amazing. I already took care of breath of the wild and passed it. Very amazing game. And I do agree with you. There are awesome games in my personal opinion. Zelda is what keeps me on the switch and no matter what people say the Legend of Zelda and Horizon, even though one is from Nintendo and the other one from PlayStation are the best games to ever exist. At least for me. Now if anyone owned the first edition of the switch and you moved to the outlet or haven't then I recommend you to move to it because it's a big step up the Oled. It's green is very vibrant, especially when you are playing Smash Bros mobile.
Thx for posting. I would argue if it was worth buying a Switch in 2023, which is when I bought it. I agree that Nintendo has been a genius in the game industry for decades, but I feel room for innovation is narrowing as the competition gets stronger as we've seen over the last 15 years or so. I personally grew tired of my Switch quite quickly and rarely used it since getting a PS5. Top Switch games are overpriced (no one can argue this fact) and exclusives are the same titles rehashed for each new console (Mario Kart, Party, Tennis, Odysee etc...), albeit they're still fun to play. Once you're done with those, you're left with mostly average games that look better on other consoles, or games that could run on your mobile. I cant remember the last time I bought a game but I wont be interested unless its below $15. It will be gathering dust while I wait :)
My daughter got me a switch lite for Mother’s Day. It was quite an upgrade from my DS lite. 😂 Unfortunately, at 50, my eyes aren’t what they used to be, so I got an oled for myself for Christmas. I generally play it docked. Currently hooked on RDR and Ark. When I play handheld I play mineral town, Zelda, Pokemon or Mario. My granddaughter and I play multiplayer on Mario cart and the Wii Sports. I let my granddaughter use the lite to play Zelda and I introduced her to Pokemon on my GBA because I think it’s a little easier. Great video!
It's a fantastic device but it is in desperate need of a refresh. Rumors are that next-gen wont have OLED (which is a shame) but what i DO want to see is a decent chipset that can future proof the console another 6 years, 4K support when docked, Hall effect joysticks (Come on...stick drift is such a pain and so common) and backwards compatibility.
The latest rumour is that the next generation Switch will launch with 2 versions. A budget LCD digital only version and a premium OLED physical version. Apparently the all future games will be digital only but the physical port is for backwards compatibility
Words I heard from another review and is a very smart way of putting it: NS Lite: Portable gaming NS: Only TV NS Oled: Both portable and Tv Amazing review man
Switch Lite is just too small and I got serious hand cramps when trying to play with one. Fine for the kids but for an adult with normal sized hands you need a "proper" Switch
I thought after Tears of the Kingdom Zelda it couldn't get any better I was so hell bent on getting a play station 5 that when I did get it Mario Wonder hit and now Mario RPG. Just when I think Nintendo is done with their console the amaze me once again. Haven't really touched my PS5 mainly my switch and I've been around since the atari 2600 so Nintendo runs strong in my blood I love them.
I hook my Switch OLED up to my sound bar and subwoofer via Bluetooth when I'm home..sounds pretty good. I have, however, just purchased an OLED steam deck, which I love..I love em both
I like and hope nintendo stays true to itself and stays nintendo! I love the 50/50 split between modern gaming but keeping that retro feel to there games.
"THIS IS THE MOST VERSATILE CONSOLE EVER CREATED", SOUNDS VERY FUTURISTIC TO ME. I LOVE SONY AND MICROSOFT BUT HOW YOU SUPER POWER AND CANT BEAT THIS SO CALLED "kid console" im out.
I had a switch lite a couple years ago but long for dock mode. So I got a switch a couple months ago & love being able to use large screen 📺, & play on hand held for cozy mode.
I think it's about time for a new Nintendo console!. I mean think about it, the NES came out in 1985, SNES in 1991, N64 in 1996, Game Cube in 2001, Wii in 2006, Wii-U in 2012, Switch in 2017, so about a 5 to 6 year gap between consoles. The Switch has been out for 6 years, almost 7!
i think im going to "upgrade" to a switch with a removable joy-cons, my lite has a joy stick pad missing and lags pretty bad. the switch is more of a solo-device in my eyes because you cant chat with people. so in my eyes its still worth buying. the 3ds is still worth buying after all this time also lol
For me it's the ease of use, portability, game optimization compared to a smartphone, and huge selection of games, both modern and classics. Being able to pick up and play mario kart 8, fall guys, and some motocross games from console as well as even a handful of games from pc like golf with your friends (and fall guys). The Like is great for simplicity and portability, but the oled is what I'll go for if I spend more since its only $50 more than the regular switch. And yeah the graphics arent as great as console, but the point is - portability and isnt intended to replace a full console
If i were to buy one today, it would be the OLED. I have the early base model one and while i can still be fine without an OLED screen, the battery improvement is what i'd like to have too. But it was bought as a total experiment and it was great. One bad side tho...is that they stop producing some joycon colors so i'm not able to get a pair of my OG ones anymore.
Bought switch normal one 3 months brilliant 🤩 but apparently there’s a switch two in near future coming out ,,hopefully they still be making switch one games as this wasn’t cheap (£279) 😲
Bought one for Breath of the wild 6 years ago. Completed it. Sold the console. Bought an Oled. You guessed it. For Tear's of the kingdom a couple of weeks ago. This time I will keep it for a while as more games out now.
On the note, you don’t know how many grandmas play I know quite a few of us play I’m hey grandma and my aunt is a great grandma and she’s 81 years old. We all play Nintendo switch so there you go you know some grandmas are great grandmas.
i am thinking of buying the original model because the removable joy-cons are compatible with my computer and i think that would be pretty cool, and its another device i can use for playing games with my friends
I traded on offer up switch original with dock joycons, a pro controller, and Zelda and sonic racing for xbox 360 250gb with kinnec. 3 wireless remotes. remote chargers 12 disc games and original box with all cables. I have to buy a micro SD card 512 sandisk Amazon for $24 and the original switch charger witch I traded at game stop Zelda for a gamestop brand switch charger. Do you think I got a good deal?
I also bought a Switch last October 13. Lucky that I found it while browsing at their online store & learned that it was the last stock. I contacted our local gamestore that I'll pick it up at their nearest branch from my work. I opted for the Mario Red & Blue Edition NSW for now. The out side of the box was a little ruined but it was still sealed. Bummer that the battery was dead, and we, the staff and I agreed to charge it a little until it gets revived. Will probably get the Mario Red OLED Edition soon, and I'll stop there 😆
Something they don't talk about in any of these switch videos is just like Xbox a PlayStation you need a subscription to play these games online at a certain ones anyway. I wasn't aware of that but I know now.
Great review. I bought a switch oled last year and I am very happy with it. I on regret that switch 2 might come out soon and leave the switch oled behind too soon
I love the switch but it just makes me sad that they always bottleneck their consoles with outdated tech (even when it initially came out!). I really hope the next switch breaks this annoying trend
Can we do multi player on the switch oled without being connected to the internet? Either on the one console or maybe hard wiring with two oled consoles so we’re both have separate screens?
After bring home switch lite at Jan 2023, i decide just bought the mario red oled last dec 2023. Maybe for some people its way too late, but god help us, its very expensive the first time it came to my country, even for the Lite.
I own a switch i got it in 2019 still play mine for local play like Nintendo switch sports, mario party and mario kart and just dance great games to play with family and friends its really hard to come by games that support couch coop and local play one of the reason i still have mine . I know its not powerful but thats what i use on mine for.
I have a switch lite that i bought my daughter fur get birthday and i love it. I've been thinking about getting a switch OLED and this video made my mind up for me. Thank you
the last nintendo console I had, was the nintendo ds. so I kinda lost track of all the games there are for this device. anyway, I basically quit pc gaming because I wanted an easy and instant access to chill video games, and my gf got me a ps5 last year. though I'm recently discovering craving for the Nintendo Switch... damn.. I'm so indecisive on what I should do... should I turn the ps5 in for a discount on the switch oled? although I discovered that it's already 2 years old... I don't wanna buy a console and see a new version come out in a few months...

Belting game. Once you start, you're hooked.
I want to play it as well. Do I need to play the previous games to fully enjoy it? What do you recommend.

My thoughts exactly, I should have got a switch YEARS ago! I rarely game on my PC anymore but the switch has revitalized my interest in gaming.
I used to have a Switch Lite but the screen was way too small. Playing BotW and TotK was incredibly difficult. Playing both on the OLED is AMAZING. The screen is the absolute perfect size which makes playing handheld so much easier.
The Switch Lite is for when you leave home and want to take a console with you. I treat it as an accessory to the Oled.
Lol wonder if there's a screen magnifying product like the original Gameboy 😂😂 horrendous
Everything for Fire Emblem 🔥
There’s a time and place for everything. Wouldn’t give up my PS5 for a Switch if I had to choose lol.
Couple of minor things:
- The 720p resolution in handheld and 1080p in docked mode is the maximum it can support, meaning that some games actually run on lower resolutions than that in both modes.
- There are 4 models of the Switch (exluding the special editions) because the OG day one Switch received a refreshed version which is called the Switch V2. So to recap, there is the Switch, Switch V2, Switch Lite and Switch OLED.
He was talking about the ones that are currently out smartass. v1 is no longer being sold officially. Look at the title of the video.
How do you know if you have the V2 as I've just bought a Nintendo switch and it's not the oled version but it is brand new?
@Aye8383 backdrop on the box art is white and the V2 is red. Also there's different sku numbers.
Likewise, grew up on gameboy and those old game and watch from the those old nintendo years. So my switch stays with me too..thank you nintendo
Ori will of wisp and botw are worth it alone
Yeah especially October 2023 is really good for first party games and also third party games
Retrogame 300 is better game console than nintendo switch! I wish i didnt buy nintend switch!
@@Ozz131wdym ori and the will of wisp is worth it alone? You can buy that game on any console and on steam...
Halfway though 2024 and I can safely say I’ll still be playing mine for a few more years
I have an OLED Switch and I love it!
To me it's just basically the best "gameboy" I've ever had + you can find them pretty cheap on marketplace.
i have a lite and my hands are just too big for the buttons.
I feel the same way! Specially the local multiplayer part ^^ everyone is busy with life & work so we mostly do more online hangouts
True just picked up a lite in new condition original box and a case for $100 on marketplace 👍
I bought my switch oled like 3 weeks ago after losing my v2 switch in 2022. I resolved to wait but when I received some extra money I bought it as soon as I got off work. I don’t regret it at all, I needed it!!
I've been saving money for 11 months to finally get a switch lite and it's a great consol
I still find it hard to swallow that consoles charge monthly for online multiplayer.
As long as the Switch is a dual playing machine it will be a monster. Who can slay it?
I just bought the "OG" version for my son's 12th birthday. I hope he loves it as much as you do. Max respect.
Rumor also states that the Switch 2 will be $400
Worth it?
I bought an Oled for my kids for Christmas and they absolutely love it - they’re addicted to Mario Party 😂
My son and I bought this yesterday and are having a BLAST. Worth every penny
Mine is two years old and still a banger. This week Super Mario RPG will be released and I cannot wait. Best console ever with SNES and PS1 imo.
I've got a series x and a ps5 and my OLED Nintendo gets used more.
The only thing limiting it from being by far the best choice is the looming threat of the switch 2
True
When do you think the switch 2 will come out? This year… or?
@@sal9805 it was supposed to come out holiday 2024, but there been an internal delay to March 2025
March 2025 seems like enough time to still justify getting it. I purchased it and am glad with my investment.
@slendii366 the hardware is dated, getting at all, in the current time frame is not a good idea. Just wait it out.
As a parent of two wonderful boys. The switch has allowed me to game more than I ever would on the other consoles. Thank you Nintendo.
I just bought one and while a new one maybe around the corner I have a huge library of games I don’t have to wait to be released:
UA-camrs changing their titles from 2023 to 2024😂😂
Always remeber: Gameplay>Graphics. Just look at the state of current AAA titles.
I want the OLED version, but we are soon heading into 2024 xD. The minute I buy it, they will announce the next gen, I know it haha.
@@dimbulb6443I agree. Oled is a game breaker for me.
You either have too much money or you are reckless af
Why? Geniunly
I bought my daughter a switch lite. I’ve now got one and I play it more than my Xbox S. it’s great fun.
I own a snes, GameCube and Xbox sx.
Yesterday I got the mario kart and 3 month online bundle. My only issue so far with it is the eshop is soo laggy.
Yes very sloooowwww
It goes a bit faster if you close any game running in the background, but yes the eshop is slow!
The shop is not that bad, but yeah it does take some time to load but maybe a few seconds.
Unfortunately, at 50, my eyes aren’t what they used to be, so I got an oled for myself for Christmas.
I really want an oled switch for christmas the only thing hindering me is the price if the games
Damn, thought he's Alfie from Peaky Blinders hahaha. Great video btw! Just bought Switch OLED and I'm so excited.
And Bluetooth enabled headset/headphone compatibility
@@justaboutsquareI haven’t had a switch in a while bc I sold mine but didnt nintendo do a software update to add Bluetooth?
You can connect Bluetooth headphones/earphones
The latest rumour is that the next generation Switch will launch with 2 versions. A budget LCD digital only version and a premium OLED physical version. Apparently the all future games will be digital only but the physical port is for backwards compatibility
@@justaboutsquare that "and" is so unnecessary , Nintendo already added Bluetooth Audio support 2 years ago
Words I heard from another review and is a very smart way of putting it:
NS Lite: Portable gaming
NS: Only TV
NS Oled: Both portable and Tv
Amazing review man
Switch Lite is just too small and I got serious hand cramps when trying to play with one.
I have, however, just purchased an OLED steam deck, which I love..I love em both
Dude said in the last 17 years ☠️☠️☠️ 0:04
I just recently purchased a V2 non OLED Version. I think it's a great value I was never a big Nintendo fan but this device is beginning to change.
I just bought my fourth switch, my first OLED that’s modded
I ordered one that was supposed to arrive on Friday, then it was delayed to Saturday, then today or tomorrow... thanks amazon 🙄
I've been going back and forth buying this one... I don't own any at the moment. I'm worried ill buy it and then the switch 2 will come out haha.
Bought one for Breath of the wild 6 years ago. Completed it. Sold the console. Bought an Oled. You guessed it. For Tear's of the kingdom a couple of weeks ago. This time I will keep it for a while as more games out now.
So you can have a console for 12 months and then have to buy the new one that releases next year?
I'm mostly a ps5 and even quest 3 vr gamer but since my gf bought one last week I havn't had this much fun in years. I'm already addicted to it!
botw and totk are the best games that I have ever played.
I am excited to play them again on switch 2.
Nintendo could make a Pokemon game that's like Legend of Zelda tears of the kingdom and it would sell like hotcakes.
I love the switch but it just makes me sad that they always bottleneck their consoles with outdated tech (even when it initially came out!). I really hope the next switch breaks this annoying trend
They could have souped up the graphics a little bit
Thank you very much for this video. Straight to the point and I learned a lot, I'm sold on the OLED.

How's the battery life?
The answer for switch gaming on a tv? LG C3 or Sony Oled if you can afford it
what is battery life?
I have a switch lite that i bought my daughter fur get birthday and i love it. I've been thinking about getting a switch OLED and this video made my mind up for me. Thank you
Nice brother I'm thinking about getting a switch oled on Christmas to bring it to work😂
I recently ordered the OLED w/ Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Bundle.
the last nintendo console I had, was the nintendo ds. so I kinda lost track of all the games there are for this device. anyway, I basically quit pc gaming because I wanted an easy and instant access to chill video games, and my gf got me a ps5 last year. though I'm recently discovering craving for the Nintendo Switch... damn.. I'm so indecisive on what I should do... should I turn the ps5 in for a discount on the switch oled? although I discovered that it's already 2 years old... I don't wanna buy a console and see a new version come out in a few months...
Picked up the oled switch 2days ago and I’m not looking back, loving the games!
