Something bad happened in high school.
I belonged to Kendo club and my friend was the same.
One day, a guy who belonged to the same club asked me out on a date.
I was happy because I had liked him before.
However, I found out that the guy who was dating with me was her boyfriend.
To my surprise, he had cheated on me.
And then, I decided to break up with him.
I was glad my friend never knew about that.

I went on a school outing to a big park the day after raining.

Hello Nick! I watch your video literally everyday! I know it's kind of belated replay but I had a really embarrassing experience today,so I'm going to share with you!
Something embarrassing happened today. I'm currently living in Canada now, and my town is known for having beautiful mountains, so the best things to do here is going climb a mountain.I went to try a new trail today as normal and it turned out to be an awesome hiking! So I got back home being very happy listening music with my earbuds singing out loud.I mean really really loud lol.Because it looked like no people around me. And I was immersed in my own world... But suddenly, one police car came up to me and the driver opened the window. I was like "Oh my god...I'm gonna be arrested by him because I was disturbing neighborhoods..." But he laughed at me and said "Keep singing, it makes you safe because a bear came out around this area this morning. Singing loudly makes him go away haha" and I instantly said "...Oh I knew that! I saw it on the news! That's why I was singing so loudly! otherwise I would never make such a noise! you know." and then the police man was gone.
I was like "What a relief! Thank god...!!!"
That's all about it! That was so embarrassing, but I got through the tough time very well haha.
Thank you for taking the time to read all of my comment!
    Take it easy, Peace!

Something embarrassing happened when I got married. We were in the church and one of the wedding planners fitted us up with little microphones for the video. I didn’t think they would be switched on the whole time so we carried on chatting as usual throughout the ceremony. When we got back home and watched the video on the big screen, you could hear me saying very clearly “se-no” just before we bowed. It kind of ruined a beautiful moment, but we all had a good laugh. There is a well-known sentence in English education: "She said she loves me." Native speakers tend to avoid saying "she loves me" in past tense, knowing it is grammatically wrong. In writing you can work around this by using different structures.

    どこかでbe going toは前から決まっていることを言うとき、willは今さっき決まったことを言うときって聞いたことを覚えているんですがそれが正解だと、謝ろうと思ったのはその瞬間に決めたことだからwouldにはならないんでしょうか?

    • @nicwilliamson
      @nicwilliamson  3 роки тому +2

      be going toはいつ使ってもおかしくない唯一の未来形です。
      「決まっている未来」は進行形ですね、(I'm working tomorrow.など)
      「今決めた未来」そして「決まってない未来」は「will」です。
      こちらの動画を観てみてください^^ ua-cam.com/video/QQm1nzDLQ6g/v-deo.html
      「I was going to」は決まった表現なので、今の未来形の使い分けを考える必要もなくて、そのまま使いましょう^^
      I thought I would などはよく使いますが、「するともりだった」という意味で、いきなり「I would 」は言わないですね。
      「I thought」などがなくていきなり「I would」は「私ならこうするね」と仮定法の話になります。「I thought 」に続く「would」は「時制の一致」の「would」ですね。

Cuz we had gone out alone like 3 or 4 times, I thought it was time to let her know how I felt so I was gonna ask her out. Thank you for your lesson and your story! It's so amusing!!
Something embarrassing happened in elementary school.
I was wearing orthodontic appliance(歯の矯正器具) like mouthguard(マウスピース) in my mouth.
When I was going to rinse out my mouth in my home, I noticed it was not worn in my mouth.
Telling my mother, she was very angry about my mistake.
She thought it would be in the restaurant where we ate earlier.
Then we returned there in a hurry asking a waitress.
    However, she didn't recognize it.
My mother thought it would be in a trash bag of the restaurant.
So we serched the trash bag of the restaurant in public.(We got permission from the restaurant.)
Ultimately we managed to find it somehow.
It was in the trash bag.
I solemnly told myself that I had better not lose it next time.

Something embarrassing happened in my childhood.
I was skiing with my family but I wasn't doing well. So my father put me in a school.
I was standing on a slope listening to the teacher and my skis slide back automatically. I put my hands on the ground trying to stop but I kept sliding down making two loooong lines on the snow scared. At the bottom of the slope I finally could get my face up and I saw the teacher and a classmate giving me a cold look from the top of the slope.
What's more, my father and my brother were watching my accident from the lift incidentally. I didn't expect they would laugh at me for a few days😢

ex) I thought Sazae-san would choose scissors.
    Something funny happened...
I think it was funny.
    in the cafeteria
    のtheは、

      「I think」なしで、最後に「It was so funny.」

Hi, Nick sensei ! I'm Chii and this is my first time writing story in your comments box.
Hopefully you will laugh by this story and correct my English.
Something embarrassing happened when I went out with a friend last year.
We had some drinks with delicious foods at a Yakitori restaurant. After a while, I went to the bathroom.
There was the only bathroom so I thought I need to get out quickly as much as I possible for next customers.
When my turn was coming, I closed the door and just tried to zip down my pants...
Then, the door opened all of sudden! And I could see a man in front of the door. We saw each other saying "sorry!!" loudly.
Fortunately, I did nothing yet when he opened the door.
Actually, I didn’t notice that I had forgot to lock the door as I entered. I did my thing immediately then went back to my seat.
Surprisingly ,my friend had already knew what was going on out there. Because we were sitting near the bathroom. He laughed but from the next time as I go to the bathroom, he didn’t say anything and he was in the line after me to save me even if I would do the same thing. How kind he is!
Are these sentences correct ? I would really happy if you had fun!
    Thank you so much:)
    Chii

Something scary happened to a young women. One day, she was really busy at work and she was going home in the middle of the night and she was in the elevator of her condominium. When she got off the elevator on her floor, a guy jumped onto the elevator and went down. She couldn't see his face because he weared a cap and sunglasses. In the morning of the next day, she was in a hurry to go to work and someone visited her room. He said he was a policeman and asked her if she had met someone suspicious the last night. She said no because she thought she would be late at work if she said yes. One week later, she happened to watch a news saying a man who lived in the same condominium had been killed and the murderer had been arrested already. When she saw the picture of the murderer on TV, she was shocked because the man of the picture was the policeman.

Something embarrassing happened to me at a hotel in Nara, Japan 20 years ago. After sightseeing some places, I and my family returned to the hotel exhausted at around 4 PM. It was rather early but the big bathes for men and women open to the customers was already operating.
As we had used it the day before, my husband and I knew exactly where the men’s bath and the women’s bath were .
I have my eyes shortsighted and once I take off the glasses, I hardly see the details. I got to there and was taking off my cotton kimono served by the hotel in a dressing room. All of sudden, a man came out of the bath side hiding his front part with a cloth, shouting they had exchanged the man’s bath and woman’s one. I realized he was my husband screaming. Luckily there was nobody except us and later I found out the hanging cloth in front of the entrance door of the bath was marked “ man” in blue, not woman in pink.
The day we ended staying , I left the note of my opinion at this hotel saying it would be better to inform the clients when they exchange the public bathes.

    Something embarrassing happened.
Last week I went shopping with my one-year-old daughter. When we were waiting for getting checked, the cashier said "That clothes are so qute." So I looked at my clothes confusing. Then the cashier looked at my daughter." I found out she was talking about my daughter." I was so embarrassed(///∇///)
    Something embarrassing happened.
The other day, I went to the park I had never been to. There was a steep slide. My four-year-old son and I were so scared looking at the slide. But he wanted to go down it. I thought I would try first to feel how scary it was and I tried. After going down the slide, my jeans got a hole in them. So we had to go home without playing the park. I was so embarrassed. But there were no people near the slide so I was relieved.

Your second story was 99.999% PERFECT!! Good job!

    Hello Nick,
    Something embarrassed happened.
I was walking on the street with my husband.
A man was walking behind me .
He overtook me and looked back and smirked at me.
I didn’t know why was he smirking.
    I examined my zipper.
My fly of skirt was down.

Something embarrassing happened. When I was sitting on the train on my way home from work, I fell asleep and dreamed of dating a man I liked at the time. In fact, I was leaning against an elderly gentleman sitting next to me, squirming, and he kindly woke me up with a smile, saying that this train would be in the garage at the next station.
Please feel free to use my episode on your video.!
