My son was about five years old , something interesting happened.
We were shopping some clothes and kitchen stuffs and so on.
We went to the cashier to pay the last bill and paid by the credit card.
The woman at the register asked me to sign the bill.
My son who was watching us whispered to me, "You're famous, aren't you?"
I thought What he was talking about?
But after a while I realized that my son thought she wanted my autograph! , so I said "Yes, I am! I'm a famous person!"
He was surprised and gave me a look of respect.
    It was a lovely memory.

Hello Nick. I really like this topic! I’d like to share my episode.
When I was a new employee, something embarrassing happened.
All employees were taking part in a 6-day training camp except me. I started taking part in the camp on the third day because of a Buddhist memorial service.
After work, I was too exhausted to talk with co-workers, so I went to the bathroom alone to take a quick shower. When I took off my clothes and contact lens in the dressing room, I heard someone was a taking shower in the bathroom. I didn’t care if others were there because I used to live in a dorm for 6 years. I entered the bathroom which steam was rising. Meanwhile, the person who had just finished taking a shower turned around and shouted. “ Oh, no! What are you doing here! “ I couldn’t see her clearly without my contacts, but I was sure the person was a man! He was my boss. Actually, I mixed up the men’s bathroom with the women’s bathroom.
I said “I’m so sorry, sir!” And ran away as fast as possible. It was the most embarrassing moment in my life so far.

    It something surprised happened.
My daughter ate out with friend last night.
I was going to go to bed and she sent a me a line.
She said “We are drinking another pub after dinner so I’m going to back home little later tonight ”.
    Then I went to bed.
But I was getting up morning and she didn’t go home yet.
    I super surprised 🙀.
I got up my husband and called her cellphone but she didn’t answer.
I was looking for her by iPhone and she came home.
She said that we had all-nighter Karaoke then.
I relieved to see and hear that.
But I told her what you should’ve texted me if you changed the plans.
It was a surprising and good experience things for us.

Something interesting happened while I was on a pilgrimage to temples in Shikoku. As I was crossing the mountain pass, an old woman came up to me. She gave me some sweets and mentioned that she had been waiting for pilgrims recently. As it was raining last time, she couldn’t catch up to a pilgrim. I felt grateful and thanked her. I realized that this was a tradition in Shikoku and felt fortunate to be able to make this trip.

Hi, Nick. Allow me today to give a comment in English. This video of yours has impressed me a lot. I've been seeing many of your videos already and I thought I was a rather advanced learner of English. And earlier today someone recommended this particular video to a forum of Japanese learners of English that I often attend.
Then I began to watch it. Having heard the introduction to today's input of yours, I had assumed that I would be hearing what I already knew well already. I was wrong. I learned something important. Yes, I had suspected that natives use the English constructions of past progressive and simple past in the way you described, but my understanding was still a bit vague, not completely structured. You've beautifully explained all the hitherto-ambiguous points that I had in mind.

When I went to Italy, I met something scared. I was getting off a subway, some children came to me and one of them put her hand in my bag! She was pulling my pause out. I felt really scared. Furthermore, The girl looked like 7 or 8 years old. It was the most shocking experience in my life.
*Hi! Teacher Nick. I watch your videos to improve my English speaking skill. Although I’d had a bad habit that I translate Japanese into English in my head, I am overcoming it owing to your lesson. Thank you very much!

    Something interesting recentry.
I was watching TV,there were so handsome guys singing and dancing perfectly. The name of their group is "seventeen" active mainly in South Korea.
I fell in love at first sight.
They pick me up always, and I really appreciate them.
I was wondering if you could use my comment.

I saw a very new, interesting video. It was a latest Nick’s English lesson program about storytelling. First of all, I was glad to hear the difference between the past tense and the past progressive tense. The scales fell from my eyes again. Hey, how many scales do I have? See you!

Something lucky happened. When I was making country bread at home, the dough was overfermented and became muddy and sticky. I had no choice but to flatten it, form it into focaccia, and bake it. Surprisingly, my family who ate it praised it as delicious.

When my sister was a high school student , my mother made a bento-lunch box for her
every day. One day, my sister was opening her bento lid as usual and closed it in a second.
Because there were only Odens in it!
Her friends were sorry for her.
She said to me 'I was so so so embarrassed at that time.'
After that, she started cooking for her bento.
It's not my story ,but my family are still talking about her story.

Something suprising happened two days ago.
I was doing housework and I heard my name in a whisper voice.
I saw outside, my husband was kneeling in the garden.
When he was doing the gardening and he strained his back. He was taken to a hospital in an ambulance.

She remembered to buy a gift for Christmas.

I am not sure if you like this episode but if you like it, please use it for your project.
I did something stupid the other day.
I was swamped with my work all day long. My manager was finishing work and I noticed I was supposed to submit the report and receipt for my business trip to him before he left. So, I did it in hurry. On the next day, I was working as usual and he came to my desk smiling. I felt something wired. He gave the receipt back to me saying he couldn't accept it. I looked at it and understood why it was. I had accidentally handed in the receipt of my grocery shopping instead of one of the business trip. It was so embarrassing.

It was a very hot day in the summer. When I was on a crowded train, I touched something cold.
I felt so comfortable because it was humid there.
Next I noticed a middle-aged man standing back to back was sweating a lot.
