Oklahoma has had their top 5 receivers out pretty much all year, and like 4 offensive linemen out. Not to mention the players that got injured in this game. And the new offensive coordinator got fired halfway through the season. All while dealing with the 2nd toughest schedule in college football with a first year starting QB. They've been going through it this season.
If Oklahoma can get a healthy O line and receiver core back, they might take a run at the National Championship. Venables’ defenses are always the best in the country.
Prior to this game, OU had not rushed the field at home since 2000 when they upset #1 Nebraska and ended a decade long period of mediocrity. Given their struggles this year with having their top 5 wide receivers out hurt the whole year and a decimated O-Line, plus the head coach's family dealing with a cancer battle, I think this was just an emotional release that the entire team and fan base needed.
I feel so fortunate to have attended this game. I had no plans of going, but something told me to buy a ticket. It's been a ROUGH season for Oklahoma - quite possibly the worst season in over 25 years for the Sooners. I got a single ticket about 3 hours before kickoff next to the Bama away section. I told myself that I'd regret it if we somehow managed to pull off the upset. Glad I did! OU hasn't stormed the field in 24 years.
As a Tennessee fan, thank you Oklahoma and (can’t believe I’m saying this Florida) for knocking off two teams ahead of us and putting us back in the playoff picture.
Oklahoma changed their entire offense over the week so all of the defensive prep Bama did during the week was useless. The offense was just anemic and I wasn’t terribly surprised because Venibles had our offense’s number 3:09 when he was the DC at Clemson. On top of that this coaching staff seems to be unable to adjust at halftime.
The Penn State punter was trying to make it look like there was a bad snap and the ball had gone over his head to the right, to draw the defense to the right while the ball carrier went left.
Punter is used as misdirection as some defensive players may think he has the ball and is running. So they sent him in the opposite direction of the blocking scheme, because in football with these athletes sometimes all you need is for a defender to take a wrong half-step ("influence the defender") or hesitate and it can help the play succeed because the defender has lost the angle and or the time to react. Every player has a specific role in each offensive play and is expected to carry it out as possible for the play to succeed as designed.
If you're going to an OU game, I recommend going to the Texas vs OU game. It's during the Texas state fair and rodeo, so there's great food and a fun atmosphere. But the best part is watching one of the biggest rivalry games in college football.

4:04 - Idk when the last time Bama only scored 3 points, but the last time they didn't score a TD was in 2011. I think they won by having multiple field goals. There was a lot of unprecedented stats that they were showing for that kind of stuff during the game.

Oklahoma went on to win the National Championship that year. Something that no one saw coming. The current Oklahoma head coach was a young defensive coordinator for Oklahoma at the time. The fans threw the goal posts into the nearby duck pond. Lol
Georgia winning the natty? They just took 8 overtimes to beat an unranked ACC team. But honestly anything can happen this year, it's been one of the wildest CFB seasons I've seen in a very long time.

FAKE PUNT: Punter ran backwards simulating a bad snap, when the long snapper snaps the ball right over the punters head. This generally causes defenses to attack towards the punter seeking a big loss of yards. This deception can give the player running the ball an easier run as defense focus on punter chasing a bad snap.

Oklahoma is arguably the best team in the history of college football when you look at the entire history of the program. They rank in the top 5 in most program statistics like wins, win percentage, number 1 rankings, time in the AP Top 25, National Championships, and Heismans.
The storming had less to do with Alabama and more to do with the season we’ve had. This was just a turning point that the fans and Venables needed. Plus we don’t get to do that often might as well do it once. If it makes you feel better that may be the last time anyone storms the field after beating Alabama for a long time.
The field stormings are definitely getting out of hand the last couple years. It wasn’t always like that. This year they started fining universities for doing it, but it doesnt stop em. There isnt enough security to stop it
