If you dig a little deeper you can find the bird dog competitions/field trials. Those dogs are serious about their craft. Its so cool to watch them respond to their handlers whistles and commands, they look just like well trained soldiers.
I think they sued to show them on ESPN2, maybe a diff channel, but I remember watching them ages ago on tv. They were a lot of super impressive pooches.
I saw this live by accident once as a show, and it was the best surprise ever! So much fun, and the dogs were having a blast. The one we saw was all Pitbulls.
I am retiring in 2 months. Lost my dog in October...,.a month before his 17th birthday. Watching this numerous times., I have almost decided to get a whippet an train for this event. Me re thoughts to come in February,. When I am officially retired. Also learned and worked in the field of taking care of dog breeding and training with Airedales. Great experience...but I believe my techniques are comforting.
about 15 years ago my roommate worked for this company and would travel the world building the pool and set then tearing it down again all to do it again in the next city/state/country. dudes stories were insane. bro lived like a rockstar lol
I haven't seen this in years. It used to be all water dogs. I have never seen whippets do this. I am surprised their nose doesn't go under the water. Funny.
Spitfire (Michael Jordan of dog diving) was the first whippet to really take off the breed into dog diving. Sight hounds were never considered water dogs as it's not common for them to like the water. Sounders was his friend and those 2 were always trying to out do the others record. Incognito and Spitfire had the same owner/handler. Now everytime I watch there's a whippet/greyhound mix.
im no genius but ... in comparison in my mind i think a whippet can get to top speed much quicker. like a 50yd sprinter vs a 200M sprinter, a whippet is quicker start opposed to overall speed.
Really surprised to see Whippets doing this now, it use to be the water dogs (Labs, etc.) and I guess they still do at the lower levels. Just something fun to do with your dog, they seem to love it.
Greyhounds are not used because they are not a water breed. They hate swimming, so they probably won't jump in water. A whippet is a water breed and love the water. That is why there are no greyhounds.
You need to react to the video about Spitifire - one of the best to ever do it. There is a video out there that documents his (and his owner's) story and their accomplishments. He is something special to watch.
I highly recommend everyone watch videos from “k-none” or “I hate dogs” and you’ll realize, if you haven’t already, what a plague dogs are in our society. just imagine how amazing daily life would be without them. Be well all

I just love the slo-mo shots 😆, just great. Dogs are the best.

The replays are hilarious.
Takes place in Gray Summit, Missouri. About forty minutes west of St. Louis.

You can train many different dogs to dive - do the research and pick the best breed for you. Then, of course, the dog in that breed will choose you ;)

9:57 I’m like why is he holding this dog like a rifle 😂😂
I had an edible and now I'm sitting here with the same IQ as the dog. I've learned what a Whippet was and I like the color of the splashing water. 👌
This was fun lol
This is more exciting than watching cricket.🤣🤣🤣
That was fun to watch, but the poor dogs getting their nuts smack, ooch! LOL
The speed and agility competitions are incredible, at these events. Zigzagging, slaloms, ramps, seesaws, tunnels… It’s really fun to watch.
The dogs seems like they are having a great time.

Spitfire introduced me to this sport.
The video of Sounders setting the record back in 2021 is hilarious. He has a covid mask on.
WHERE CAN I GAMBLE ON THIS
This should always be on in the pub. I'd love to bet on this

Y’all definitely put me onto this stuff. What did I just watch 😂🍻

The UK doesn't have dog divivg competitions???
Somebody needs to do a compilation of the replays with absoutley zero context to the video 🤣🤣

Greyhounds don't have the acceleration needed in such a short distance
This was cool. Have y'all seen Flyball ?
This is my third time watching.....Epic!
The ‘throwers” don’t seem to be throwing it far enough
4th time watching. You have to do a re-do with Gayner.😁
Daz first time hearing of whippet
The commentating is killing me 😂
you should react to Flyball it's relay racing for dogs - 4 v 4 - absoultey amazing
Come on guys - where’s the reaction to the #1 Oregon Ducks and Penn State?!😛
