My co-worker gave me a super deal on a New 3ds XL. He never played it and its in immaculate condition. Of course I refuse to play it and I put on white gloves any time I take it out of the box. It is painfully satisfying to just look at it every few weeks.
Lol I too am a hoarder of DS consoles but specifically Lite models. It's fun to collect them because each system has a different feel when playing them, from hinge clicks to button engagement, each one has a personality. There's also a history that comes with each handheld. It's plain fun.

Growing up with nothing was something else. When me and my sibling received our dsi for cheap because of the hard work my parents endured to make us all happy really makes me appreciate the child hood they gave my siblings and especially me. These consoles will always have a special place in heart. You’ve got an amazing collection!!

My family has a few (3)ds consoles. I have a red 2ds and my father has a black 3ds xl as well as a pink ds lite and it's pretty cool to see how many ds family consoles some people have.

No problem. Unfortunately, they go for about $200-$250 loose if you want it to be in good condition. The prices for the 3DS are just absolutely ridiculous now, and it will be like this for a bit before people stop caring again.
i thought the new non-xls were a jpn exclusive for whatever reason, and im not sure why or where i remember that from. i luckily got to mess around with my sisters friends sisters and it was also from japan and man i would take that over the super heavy new xls
The N3DS non-XL was indeed a JPN exclusive, but only at first. After the rest of the world threw a fit, Nintendo decided to release it elsewhere as well. That's why they're a lot harder to find in good shape, outside of Japan. As far as XL vs non-XL, it depends on what game I'm playing. If I'm playing a game where I have to press lots of different buttons together, like SSB or something, I'll mostly likely choose the non-XL model. They are definitely more comfortable. However, the N3DS XL is the only 3DS model that can get IPS screens. And man, oh man, does that IPS screen ever make a difference, especially on certain games. If I don't have to press the triggers all the time, then I'm choosing the XL all day everyday. It just looks SO much better.

I wonder if the black DS Lites are prone to break? Recently, I noticed the bottom screen getting lines going across, and I thought I fixed it by adjusting the adjustment screws under the battery, but then I also noticed the color being off, for example when you get that "Please read" message when you boot up, it used to be black text, now it's black and blue. I think maybe the ribbon cable got loose but unfortunately I don't own any Y screwdrivers to open it up and check.
I also have the white DS lite and the red 3DS. Both still work too but my DS lite's touchscreen is super scratched now from how much I used to play it back in the day.

i got a broken silver original ds on ebay in 2021 until it broke down and stopped working permanently. then i got a blue ds lite that summer at a game store and the screen started rotting 2 months later. next summer i got a purple 3ds at my local game store again and its been my favorite game system ever since. and also my aunt found my grandmas black ds in her garage and gave it to me
ik im kinda late the 3DS and DS lite i both have those my grandpa found a DS lite in a towed truck left in the stuff the owner didnt want. and my 3DS i recently got for my birthday! it was the 2011 model which i still like it!
I have a New3DS XL. Is there any good reason to get a ds lite? I really like the look of the aftermarket Red clear shell but...do I need it? Perhaps the ds games look better on the screen of the ds?
Ds lite can play gba games, otherwise i always prefer to play on a dsi, dsi xl or any kind of 3ds. The controls on the ds lite are more like the switch lite's button feel and i dont like it. I've heard bad things about aftermarket ds lite shells btw so if you choose to do it buy from a reputable company.
