I bought and sold my New 3DS XL years ago, and regretted it ever since. Two weeks ago, I felt the overwhelming urge to buy the console again. I bought one secondhand and I am so glad that I did. It even came with double IPS screens, which I was unaware of as it wasn't listed that way. I am so glad I get to play the amazing 3DS titles again!
@@celestialkitsuneno, some of the 3ds made at later stages come with ips screens. A good way to tell is just to look the screen sideways, if it’s crisp clear then it’s most likely IPS. Or you can home brew it and there’s an app and tells the the specs of you 3ds. But if I’m not mistaken, only the new 3ds xl has ips screen
Hacked my Nintendo 2DS last year, hacked my New Nintendo 2DS XL a couple months ago, and now I'm about to hack my New Nintendo 3DS XL. Absolutely zero regrets!
@@NeanderMeander Awesome! I've been playing the BoxBoy trilogy along with the Pokemon Game Boy games! Great games to spend my 15 minute work breaks on!
It makes sense. I'm one of the few folks out there who don't really care about hacking my systems, but I still applaud the community of modders and hackers for helping keep a system preserved for many years to come.
You probably should hack your 3DS. Hacking your 3Ds will allow you to return much of its functionality that was striped away by Nintendo. I was hesitant to hack mine at first but I did it and now have no regrets.
I remember getting my 3ds two years ago, and thinking "man i cant afford any more games this is gonna be useless once im done playing through the games i had" and I was right. UNTIL i hacked it, and a door of new possibilities opened up that made me realize it was my favorite nintendo console, mainly because of its amazing library and great feel.

@@NeanderMeander I have 2 2ds, 1 new 2ds xl, 1 new 3ds, 1 new 3ds xl, all standard colors. I wish I had bought some special editions back then when they were normal price. I'm not make that mistake with the switch hahahaha!
Love my new 3ds xl more than anything else I own ❤ so thankful to my neighbor who I didn’t know that got deployed overseas for gifting it to me last year, I’ve gotten countless hours of gameplay on it since then. Hope he’s doing alright, was a very generous guy
I have a couple fun stories about the 3DS. First off my son wanted one for Christmas but I got him the 2DS XL instead because it was newer. In my mind of course he was going to want the newest console and it was going to be better 😂 Fast forward quite a few years later I finally found a near mint Galaxy 3DS XL and I had to snatch it up for myself, but I still have not used it to play 3DS games because the console is so expensive and thus I have never used the 3D compatibility 😂😂😂 Your video is also well timed because our local pawn shop has a copy of Samus returns special edition for well below price charting and luckily it's on hold for me and I'm picking it up today! Another great video! Happy to see you back on UA-cam. I always enjoy your videos. Start to finish, a cinematic masterpiece
Did you son like the 2DS XL? I like the few that I've picked up. They are surprisingly very comfortable to play. I love the Galaxy Edition. The purple/blue colored interior is probably my favorite out of all the 3DS editions. You need to play 3DS games on that thing! Samus Returns is so awesome! You'll have to let me know what you think of it. You will play it, right? Have you played Dread? Thank you so much for watching! Your videos are always so inspiring. Whenever I see them it makes me want to shoot and edit a video.
@@NeanderMeander Yes our son actually really really enjoyed his 2DS XL. His first question though, when he opened it was can I mod it? LOL Now that I'm thinking about it, I feel like I also have a flame red Nintendo 3DS and I have it CIB but I think the Galaxy is probably the way to go. I will absolutely totally be playing Samus returns, but when is the question? I'm just not sure. Too many games. Not enough time 😁
I think homebrewing my new 2DS XL has been one of the best things ive decided to do to one of my systems in years I lost my physical copy of a link between worlds and it was a joy to be able to play it again and im almost done with Ocarina of Time 3D again im excited to play Majora’s mask 3D and a link to the past on a roadtrip im going on in a few days
I recently acquired flame red og 3ds in addition to my other systems. It's in rough shape, but everything works and it was affordable. I don't mind the scratches cause it gives me freedom to take it anywhere. I never realized how small first 3ds was. it's literally the same size as a DS lite, but with so much power and features. I also found that old 3d wasn't as annoying as I thought it'd be. I still kept that slider almost all the way up. It was really fun to play through Ocarina of Time again on it. You keep making me jealous with that Samus Returns 3ds lol! I'm currently on a rush to finish all metroid games and spinoffs before prime 4 releases. I discovered metroid after prime 4 was announced, and have played through most of the games (a lot of 2D ones 3-5 times). It also had a 3 year head start because I played my first metroid in 2020. So completing all the games before prime 4 release, will be deeply hilarious to me. Feels like the punch like to a joke that I must be able to tell haha. I have five left but it should be very doable in a year (Metroid II GB, Prime 3, Federation Force, Prime Pinball, Other M). Yes Other M is last on the list for a reason..... I must experience the pain unfortunately
That's awesome you got an og 3DS. It might be my favorite 3DS console. Are you still playing it? I rarely play my Samus Returns 3DS. It's really cool, but I just don't have too much of a reason to play it over what I've already been playing on. How are you liking the Metroid games? Which one is your favorite so far? I went through a similar experience wanting to play through all the 2D Metroid games before Dread came out. I played Metroid Prime for the first time on the Switch. It's a great game. I still need to play Prime 2 and 3. I've heard they are best played on the Wii. Where did you play Prime 2? I'm hesitant to play Other M. It doesn't seem to be that great of a game. Though I'll never know until I sit down and turn it on.
Ι got me a New 3DS XL Majora's Mask edition, brand new, some years back and it's such a good little gizmo. I have quite a few physical 3DS and DS games and I never soft-modded it to keep it original. I also bought a lot of digital games and Virtual Console titles before the store's closure, mainly the ones that weren't available elsewhere! I still buy physical games from time to time, if the price is reasonable, since I can still find them in stores, even DS games!! My only regret is selling a second-hand New 3DS XL Monster Hunter edition I had purchased, because I would surely jail-break it.
Another banger of a video. It always brings a smile to my face to see you are still preaching the gospel of 3DS to the world. Are you still picking games for the console? I've been delving into the Japanese side of the console. A lot of interesting stuff we never got in the west and it's all so affordable as well.
@@NeanderMeander Pretty much anything I can get my hands on. i will spilt them into three categories. 1. Japanese English Games - Quite a few Japanese games have English natively on the carts; the first Ace Attorney Trilogy, Ace Attorney 4, the Pokemon games, Shovel Knight, Bravely Default For the Sequel (an updated version of the first game. This is the version we got in the West) Resident Evil Revelations, Dead or Alive Dimensions. 2. Games with English Patches: Digimon World - Re:Digitize Decode, EX Troopers, Beyond the Labyrinth, Puyo Puyo Chronicle 3. Random Games - Literally just any Japanese game I find interesting like the Japanese Rail Sim games where you drive a Japanese train, Assassination Classroom games, Haikyuu Games, Dragon Ball Heroes games. TL:DR Literally anything I find interesting and cheap and enough 😁
I too feel like alot of people overlooked the 3ds and its ability to play games in 3d Im 30 now, and from what I learned about talking with people about the 3ds is that they had no idea the 3ds was its own device, sort of remincent of the Wii and Wii U. Its always fun to reintroduce the 3ds to people who are interested in the Nintendo Switch. Great video, Always looking forward to your uploads !
I’m a 3DS ambassador I got a blue one on launch, regrettably I sold it a year or two ago but years back I had upgraded also to a New 3DS XL which until recently was sitting in my dresser unused. But after modding my XL it has reignited my passion for the handheld and I’ve been playing it for hours on end lately. I’m glad to be embracing it again
When I look at how much the 3DS is going for these days, it makes me kinda worried about what I'll do if my well-loved handheld ever kicks the bucket for some reason. It'll be costly to replace!
That's a serious worry. Who knows how much they will go for in a few years? It would be great if Nintendo would make something to play these awesome games in the future.
@@NeanderMeander Yeah, and due to the unique nature of the DS and 3DS I worry for the future of all of these games even in the wider retro game context. Emulation is of course still a solution even if Nintendo never does anything, but for me personally I can't play DS or 3DS games unless I have two displays and a touch screen. It just feels unnatural otherwise and Nintendo's probably not going to make another device like these awesome handhelds again.😞
@@qactustickthat's why a hacked Wii U is great because it can emulate a good portion of the NDS library with 2 screens and all. It crashes instantly trying to emulate DSi enhanced games for whatever reason, so the Pokemon Black and White games are out, which I'm sure is one reason for the ludicrous price point those games currently hold.
after having a hand on all of the 3ds and 2ds lineup, i ended up selling my entire collection from regular, new, and new xl's. the last console i bought was a cib mint condition new 2ds pokeball edition. but after that, i bought the last piece that i didnt have, the old 3ds but on japanese version. now i ended up playing the old 3ds version due to cfw potential, and now selling my un-modded pokeball 2ds xl. i just decided to put the 2ds pokeball inside the box with the unused charger and ar cards together with the manuals and put it on display while waiting for someone to buy it.
I still have my Galaxy 3DS XL that I bought new in 2015. I still play it time to time. I switch between that and the Vita. I had purchased the NES themed 3DS first and sold it for the Galaxy edition. I wish that I kept the NES themed one.
The only thing that keeps getting worse and worse in regards to the 3DS for me is the battery life! >_< Great video as always, dude. So jelly of that SNES 3DS and I'm TOTALLY with you - the 3D is the best feature of the 3DS by far!
Yeah, my battery life is also getting shorter. If I ever find an SNES version out there, I'm going to buy it for you. I don't think anyone would appreciate it's design more than you would. Let's hope some divine intervention makes it happen.
I’m surprised I haven’t heard of your channel before. This was a cool overview of the 3DS & the homebrew for it. I had the original blue 3DS xl model & I got the snes themed new 3DS xl a couple years ago right before they were discontinued. It’ll always be my favorite handheld. Also can you believe there is a version of Minecraft made for it? Sure it runs a bit slow, but it’s Minecraft! That’s awesome! Also I do appreciate the 3D slider. I rarely use it because of the battery dying in about an hour after I use it for extended periods of time, but it’s great to experience a game in a new way
The 3ds is my favorite console, one of the things I want to look into now is moving my physical copies to a dedicated emulator. You'd be surprised how good the 3ds graphics look when you can scale the resolution to 720p or 1080p.
It's great seeing a new video from you. Always makes me want to fire up my 3DS! VB Wario Land was such a missed opportunity by not being released again on the 3DS. Nintendo could have easily made a VB compilation for the 3DS.
It’s so good to see a comment from you. I don’t think Nintendo knows the value of their Virtual Boy games. They never recognize them or the console. I thought for sure they would release them officially if the 3DS. I hope you’re doing well
@NeanderMeander thank you! Doing okay here, how's your summer going? Maybe one day we will get that much needed Virtual Boy love. I have 6 of the 12 US game library with my VB.

@NeanderMeander that's awesome. You'll be done right in time for fall. I picked mine up before the pandemic and the crazy price hikes on gaming. I must the VB was just a little too ahead of it's time, it needed some fine tuning and could have turned out to be a lot more successful
@@fredrick8691 I agree. It was ahead of it's time and maybe needed a little more time in development. I've always thought it was really interesting though. Maybe one day I'll get one.
Got my first 3DS LL a couple of months ago and haven't missed a day playing it. I definitely will check out the Virtual Boy games, that looks tremendous!
I remember getting my very first 3ds on Christmas of 2017, and I was obsessed I would barely put it down there was even a time in 2019 where I went months being more addicted to my 3ds than my phone or Xbox, tho I'm not quite sure where my 3ds is at the moment, I still play the 3ds I took from my mom, she never played with it once anyways, even tho I disliked the pink color to it so I texted my older sister to buy me a legend of Zelda case for it, tho I also know I have to get a new ds card for the 3ds to since the ds card it has now doesn't have the mini card in it.
I loved the 3D effect on my 3DS from the first time I tried it. What a shame that some years later I lost the sight in my left eye in a paintball accident, so the 3D capabilities went out with it. But I still remember those 3D gaming sessions with so much love and I still loving playing their fantastic games on 2D. Great video!
Oh man, I'm sorry you lost your sight in your eye. I think it's great that you were able to experience it before the accident. Though, the best think about the 3DS is how it can cater to many play styles. None of the games need to be played in 3D. They are still great in 2D. I think it was genius of Nintendo to not require it. I think that's why there are so many fans of the console. They can play whatever way they want. Even if it's on the model that looks like a cheese wedge.
Yes, I love my 3DS, ever since I updated it and set it up properly to emulate all my Nintendo games, I have a blast being able to play pretty much all the classics I enjoyed, but in a very portable format, its just too bad that the N64 emulator is still somewhat buggy, because it has frame drops and not high compatibility with many games, but I still believe that someone will eventually get it to work perfectly, because the Virtual Boy emulator didn't work at all about 7-8 years ago, but after someone picked it up last year, they improved that project so much that all the games are now 100% playable, and you also have many options to configure it to your liking too, which is what I want to see on all the other emulators currently on the system, as they all have their flaws and its mostly due to a lack of personalization or configuration, but its very probable that things improve in the future. Until all emulation runs perfectly on that system though, I'll have to stick to using Windows for most of my emulation needs, which is why I am excited to get my hands on one of those WIndows handhelds, especially the Ayaneo Flip DS.
I bought my 3ds 5 months before the Switch came out. I was saving up for a switch, but a friend from work was selling his new XL, because he wanted a new that had a black Friday deal. I wasn't going to buy it but it was so cheap that I couldn't resist. I was so happy to be on board, always wanted a 3ds and I could have one without missing out on the Switch.
Two years back, I bought a Zelda dual ips screens 3ds xl. I had to get rid of it shortly after because of money issues. Fast forward to now, I just found and bought that same fire emblem fates New 3ds xl with dual ips screens. I feel like I’m reliving that moment and excitement from two years ago!
The 3D effect on 3DS is one of my favorite things ever and it's the thing I most wish the Switch had. I hope Nintendo makes another 3D handheld some day.
I bought my New 3DS XL Monster Hunter Edition in 2016. Did not use it in like 2 years. Starting in 2023 I started using the 3DS again and I am in love with it. It is Modded and I have finished many games. Now im playing Mario & Luigi Series and those are great games.
That Monster Hunter special edition is really good looking. I've always wanted one. I'm going to start playing the Mario and Luigi series. I have yet to play any of them.
I agree. Sometimes, I wish what a new 3DS/2DS successor would be like. I still play my New 3DS til this day. I love the games that were made for it. Plus, if you mod it, you can do so much.
Ngl I didn't want a 3ds either until they released the midnight purple edition. I pre-ordered it from toy's r us. I still have it and I even modded too! And I brought a Galaxy Edition last month and modded it as well. I prefer to play my og 3ds more because my galaxy edition ended up getting a small speck trapped behind the touchscreen and its pretty unnoticeable but it still bugs me! Lol.
both of those are great looking versions. I have the Galaxy Edition. I love the interior color. I'm going to start looking for a purple og 3DS now that you've mention it. I've always wanted one.
its also amazing how Japanese Sony PSP & **PS VITA** keeps getting better & better as well. two of the greatest portable handhelds ever made of all time with the most innovative immersive designs with thousands stacked on thousands of many different Japanese games ever made for a handheld. Long Live Sony of Japan!
Glad to see another 3DS video from you. I haven’t cracked mine open in a year. Time to go back and finish Castlevania OOE and complete another play through of Kid Icarus Uprising.
The 3ds really was a special handheld. Link between worlds is one of my favourite Zelda games. I saw Ty doing that mod for the virtual boy and I couldn't agree more with you it made perfect sense for Nintendo to do it and it is baffling it never happened. Great video as always
Link Between Wolds is so good! I've played through it many times and I kind of want to play through it again. Nintendo really should have done it themselves. It's weird that they didn't. Thanks for watching!

There are so much many videos on yt about how great it is but most of them are like commercials, scratch the surface only
My wish for the Switch Successor is to bring back Dual Screen gaming, and hopefully have a 3D slider when you play it in handheld mode, so all the game concepts from the DS/3DS/Wii U era can be ported to it.
I would love to see another dual screen console from Nintendo. Based on how well the Switch did, I don't know if we'll see it on the Switch's successor. But who knows. Maybe after that one I could see them revisiting the design.
I used to have one it was red but I brought it on a school fieldtrip when I was younger and kept it in a lunchbox wrapped in a bag, and I sat it by the teacher by her purse and someone still stole it so I have been thinking someone close to me stole it because no one else knew it was in there.
The algorithm blessed both of us today. This is one of the best edited and produced videos I've seen in awhile. The quality and content are top notch! You get my sub sir, keep it up man!

That was such a great time to be into the 3DS. Nobody wanted them anymore. Games and consoles were very easy to find and afford. I like to think that it will be like that again in the future, but I don’t think that’s the case. What are your favorite 3DS models and games?
@@NeanderMeander The small New 3DS model might be my top favorite; I think it's the perfect size and weight for a handheld, and I love the faceplate customization. The OG 3DS is close too, the metallic finish is so clean (the 3D just isn't as good). But I've also been realllly enamored by the OG 2DS, since seeing both screens at the same angle is quite novel. The sturdiness of the grip feels great too. Pokemon Battle Trozei is definitely one of my 3DS top faves. I love the puzzley style games like Bejeweled 3 and Pocket Card Jockey. I love music games, so Rhythm Heaven Megamix, as well as Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe are faves. And finally Pokemon X & Y and Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire because Generation 6 is very special to me. What about yours?
@@Tribdinosaur I love the New 3DS, New 3DS XL, and the OG 3DS. The first model looks and feels amazing. It's completely different than any handheld Nintendo has ever made. It feels like it was designed more for adults than kids. It doesn't feel as toy like. I'm currently focused on Nintendo produced games currently. OOT, Samus Returns, DKC Returns, games like that. I just learned about the fan patch for Majora's Mask. I'm eager to play it!
You are correct. There's noway I can keep up with all the gaming news coming out. I appreciate you watching though. I hope you liked even just a little of it.
Got me a practically new 3ds xl hyrule edition. Love it, gave my wife my pokemon 20th anniversary edition one, even though i love my xl i kinda miss the standard size form factor haha.
I also love the 3D effect from 3DS but depending on the Scenario like Kingdom Hearts 3D Tron World, it looks awful when those laser light shows multiple but when 3D turns off it is only one
I have a Gameboy, GameCube, switch and 3DS XL(limited edition Mario Bros and Luigi dreamteam) they're sitting in my drawer waiting to be dusted off. I want to mod mine but don't know how. I know it's simple I just need to find time to do it 💯
Honestly the console is just so pretty! I got a new 3ds xl not too long ago and I love it. The black metallic finish, the size, the customisation, honestly its the perfect handheld console. Comparikg it to other consoles I really dont know if it can be beaten
That's awesome! the new 3DS XL is my go to model to play 3DS games. You're right, it will be difficult for anyone to make a portable that will top the 3DS.

The 3DS had a great lineup of games and the XL and new XL were really cheap when I decided to buy the console. It’s everything the original DS wanted to be and it’s a very fun device to play with. Including 3D.
I have a little story to tell as well. Recently i found 2 2ds old model lying around in a pawn shop. I picked them up dirt cheap. Came home cleaned them up thoroughly and to my surprise they worked beautifully. I have a 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son. 2 handhelds were black n blue and White n Red. My daughter loves 💙 things. So i modded these 2dss installed anemone and set Elsa Theme for my daughter and Spiderman Red theme for my son. ( as he is super fan of spiderman). I loaded couple of NDS games and 3ds games. Kids friendly. And when i gave them they were shocked surprised happy, all at the same time. Never they have experienced this before. My son plays Ultimate Spiderman from DS everytime. And he keeps 2ds under his pillow every night. Man i am so happy! I now bought New 3ds xl for myself! But Gawd they so expensive now. Seems like everyone wants one. Ebay has whopping 200usd for a simple N3ds Xl.
I miss 3D being a selling feature in tech. I remember it being so big around the release of the 3DS. I luckily got a 3D tv last year. It's something I really like.
I never had an issue with the 3D and I love the mechanic. Of course if the face isnt centered the 3D doesnt work. in my idea, so you can see the depth in it. same way as 3D glasses on ps3 games that I considered worse and way more expensive
It also helps that absolutely nothing has replaced or replicated the experience of the ds/3DS/wii/wiiu era of systems Maybe the switch can mimick the wii competently enough, but the 3DS is extremely specific and very unique -3D screen -street pass -gyro -one analog stick -insane amounts of games for dirt cheap -modding -CART RIPPING I can't say it enough this system is something else, and I don't think anything will truly replicate its experience
That's true, nothing has really replicated anything from this past gaming era. It will be interesting to see how Nintendo reworks those games to play on newer hardware.
je suis heureux d'avoir moder ma 2DS XL est d'avoir autant de jeux à ma porter et c'est une console de poche en plus donc je l'amène partout, mon seul problème c'est les serveur internet

It was such a great time with him at the helm.

That’s so cool you were able to get another one! What have you been playing?
How does one know if it's an IPS screen? And the fact you mentioned it, I'm assuming it had to be done custom that way?
@@celestialkitsunesome came with ips top or bottom or both. Supply issues with tn screens caused some units to ship with ips
I did the same thing when I had my New 3DS XL. I regretted it so much.

hacked my 3ds almost 8 years ago with soundhax, time flies, especially with the huge library of games, homebrew, and mods the 3ds provides
It makes sense. I'm one of the few folks out there who don't really care about hacking my systems, but I still applaud the community of modders and hackers for helping keep a system preserved for many years to come.
I’ve only hacked one of my New 3DS’s and a New 2DS XL. I like having my every day system stock from the factory.
You honestly should, theres no real point in NOT doing it
You probably should hack your 3DS. Hacking your 3Ds will allow you to return much of its functionality that was striped away by Nintendo. I was hesitant to hack mine at first but I did it and now have no regrets.
Why wouldn't you hack your 3ds? Like what
@bocadog3
It's not a freaking law that if you own an old system, you HAVE to hack it.

That's a great gift! What color is it? What are your go-to games?
I have a couple fun stories about the 3DS. First off my son wanted one for Christmas but I got him the 2DS XL instead because it was newer. In my mind of course he was going to want the newest console and it was going to be better 😂
Fast forward quite a few years later I finally found a near mint Galaxy 3DS XL and I had to snatch it up for myself, but I still have not used it to play 3DS games because the console is so expensive and thus I have never used the 3D compatibility 😂😂😂
Your video is also well timed because our local pawn shop has a copy of Samus returns special edition for well below price charting and luckily it's on hold for me and I'm picking it up today!
LOL
Now that I'm thinking about it, I feel like I also have a flame red Nintendo 3DS and I have it CIB but I think the Galaxy is probably the way to go. I will absolutely totally be playing Samus returns, but when is the question? I'm just not sure. Too many games. Not enough time 😁
You must play Mario 3d in full 3d mind blowing graphics.
I came here expecting something I didn't know, sadly there wasn't. But yeah this console is great. Can't wait for the Switch homebrews
I have been picking up games here and there whenever I run across them. What Japanese games have you been playing?
@@NeanderMeander Pretty much anything I can get my hands on. i will spilt them into three categories.
1. Japanese English Games - Quite a few Japanese games have English natively on the carts; the first Ace Attorney Trilogy, Ace Attorney 4, the Pokemon games, Shovel Knight, Bravely Default For the Sequel (an updated version of the first game. This is the version we got in the West) Resident Evil Revelations, Dead or Alive Dimensions.
2. Games with English Patches: Digimon World - Re:Digitize Decode, EX Troopers, Beyond the Labyrinth, Puyo Puyo Chronicle
3. Random Games - Literally just any Japanese game I find interesting like the Japanese Rail Sim games where you drive a Japanese train, Assassination Classroom games, Haikyuu Games, Dragon Ball Heroes games.
TL:DR Literally anything I find interesting and cheap and enough
😁
I too feel like alot of people overlooked the 3ds and its ability to play games in 3d
Im 30 now, and from what I learned about talking with people about the 3ds is that they had no idea the 3ds was its own device, sort of remincent of the Wii and Wii U.
Its always fun to reintroduce the 3ds to people who are interested in the Nintendo Switch.
Great video,

That NES edition is really cool! I love the button colors. I had the chance to get one, but I passed it up. If only we could go back.
As an owner of five, totally agree and all mine get regular use today.
Awesome! Which ones do you have?
I’ll have to give this a try. I bet they look great!
It's great seeing a new video from you. Always makes me want to fire up my 3DS! VB Wario Land was such a missed opportunity by not being released again on the 3DS. Nintendo could have easily made a VB compilation for the 3DS.

Does you get new 3ds or just 3ds ?
Tha'ts great! How are you liking it?
Love your passion.. It shows just in the quality of your video.
The 3DS means quite a bit to me. I'm glad you liked the video.
It would be amazing if they tried the 3D effect again. I love it so much!
Have had my N3DSXL white (I call it my Baymax) for years now. Recently got an excellent condition 2nd hand N2DSXL orange white, loving them both.
I totally agree and the virtual boy thing had got me there

I agree. Sometimes, I wish what a new 3DS/2DS successor would be like. I still play my New 3DS til this day. I love the games that were made for it. Plus, if you mod it, you can do so much.
I wonder too. I hope Nintendo revisits the two screen setup in the future. Thank you so much for watching
We just need a G&W emulator that support dual screen and the 3ds would run everything
That would so cool! I hope somebody developed on for it.

I am sad I could never try the 3D effect. I only have one working eye, so it isn't able to work for me. But great video as always! ^ ^

That's too bad. I hate hearing stuff like this because it really is a shame someone stole it.
The algorithm blessed both of us today. This is one of the best edited and produced videos I've seen in awhile. The quality and content are top notch! You get my sub sir, keep it up man!
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! I'm so glad it was sent your way.
Amazing video as always! Love the 3ds gotta play it again soon.
Thank you! I always appreciate you watching. Let me know what games you start playing on it.
@@NeanderMeander I started playing A Link between worlds last night for the first time. I really enjoy it so far and like the art style a lot. :D
It’s one of my favorite Zelda games. I want Nintendo to make more in the same style.
Yessss I remember that period of time after Switch's rise, and before the Pandemic when everyone was eager to sell their 3DS to save up for new stuff. I was just getting into 3DS collecting. I'm happy to own lots of great game cartridges and multiple versions of the 3DS here with me.
I'm eager to play it!
yoooo universal updater ,hshop and the Red viper experience is a killer trio for the 3ds . im playing a digimon english patched game now .
So glad to see you back
Love your videos ❤
It’s good to be back! Thank you for watching
Aside from Red Viper, nothing new was talked about in this video, only the history of the console before it was discontinued.
You are correct. There's noway I can keep up with all the gaming news coming out. I appreciate you watching though. I hope you liked even just a little of it.
@@NeanderMeander no problem, the production values were good, but my point is that the title doesn't match with the contents of the video. Keep it up.
The best Nintendo content, by far....enjoyed every sec of it....keep up that amazing work
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching it
@@NeanderMeander can't wait for the next one....but don't hurry
@@derqebel I have a few ideas I want to make into videos. I'm hoping to have another one out soon.
Got me a practically new 3ds xl hyrule edition. Love it, gave my wife my pokemon 20th anniversary edition one, even though i love my xl i kinda miss the standard size form factor haha.
I really like the standard side as well. It feels great to play and pack around with me. I do mainly play on an XL though.
I also love the 3D effect from 3DS but depending on the Scenario like Kingdom Hearts 3D Tron World, it looks awful when those laser light shows multiple but when 3D turns off it is only one
I haven't played that game. Is it worth getting it? I can imagine something like that being not so pleasant.
I have a Gameboy, GameCube, switch and 3DS XL(limited edition Mario Bros and Luigi dreamteam) they're sitting in my drawer waiting to be dusted off. I want to mod mine but don't know how. I know it's simple I just need to find time to do it 💯
Awesome! Sounds like you have quite a collection. I'm glad I finally modded a few of mine. Fans have really stepped up and made it better.
Another AMAZING video as well.
Thank you so much for always watching my videos! How are you doing?
@@NeanderMeander you're welcome. Doing great. I'm nearing 6k on my channel with my AI art. It's cool. How have you been?
@@RetroStylz I’ve been watching you make that fora while. It’s really cool! What have you the idea to do it?
I’m doing really well. I’m renovating my house. It will be great to have a dedicated game room once I’m done.
@NeanderMeander right on, man. Thank you so much for your support. Noticed that a couple of shorts with AI on my channel did well so I took off with it.
I'm happy to hear that you're getting a dedicated game room man.
@@RetroStylz That's so awesome! I'm glad you're seeing success. I suspect you'll continue to grow.
What version of 3ds should best we go to?
Any of the "New" versions are great. If you like to play games with the 3D effect I would go with either the 3DS XL or the standard sized New 3DS.
Ive got 6 3ds, sold 5 and bought another 3ds xl blue. Awesome portable, i love it so much
That's awesome! Which ones do you have? Which ones did you sell?
@@NeanderMeander now I got an 3ds xl blue and sold 2 old 3ds black, 3 navy blue and 1 cosmic purple. The cosmic purple one was the prettiest
I have 3 units myself. Hylian 2DS XL, Black Friday new 3DS, and and another new 3DS 3D land with cover plates. One of the best Nintendo systems ever made
You have 3 awesome editions! Which one do you play the most?
I wish I could find an affordable SNES model..I love the color way of that system. I totally missed the boat on that one... I did just recently buy a black new 3ds xl..as long as I can still play the great 3ds library, ya know?
Just bought a new 3ds xl 8 years after having sold my original.
It’s awesome the 3ds has this new life. It’s a console with such great games and an experience that really can’t be emulated.
Very well said. It just isn’t the same thing when you emulate the games elsewhere.
Thanks to my mistake during the covid era i broke my 2ds with water damage when trying to "clean" the cartridge slot since it was broken back in 2021 but thanks to it i fix technology btw my 2ds is still broken but i made some progress it now shows some life! i just need a new screen....
That's bummer it broke. But very cool you've been able to work through you. Update me on the fix if you get a new screen for it.
@@NeanderMeanderI have gotten a new screen but the console doesnt detect it i do wonder whats going on?
Great vid *sub
I always enjoy seeing the 3ds getting love. My fav console (handheld or otherwise) ever.
Currently own 7 of the bad boys and considering an 8th 😂
Very nice! Which ones do you have? Thank you so much for watching and subscribing
@@NeanderMeander
Old red
Metallic blue
Samus edition
Zelda Majora's Mask edition
Animal crossing edition
SNES edition
And my favourite white fire emblem fates edition 😁
Actually forgot, I have the Pokémon edition as well 😂
I bring mine pretty much everywhere still, 3d wise I like to mess around with it cause it is cool but it hurts my eyes so I end up turning it back off but it’s always really cool to see it
That's cool you give it a go every once in a while. I've hear a few people tell me recently that it hurts their eyes. I had no idea that was a thing.
I'm glad I modded my launch day 2DS I couldn't before because the SD card reader was broken but I got it repaired and I have Homebrew now
Awesome! How are you liking it? What are you playing?
The 3DS had a great lineup of games and the XL and new XL were really cheap when I decided to buy the console. It’s everything the original DS wanted to be and it’s a very fun device to play with. Including 3D.
It's such a fun console to play. You're right, it's everything the DS wanted to be and more.
The best part is something companies refuse to do anymore even though they can, 3D
It also helps that absolutely nothing has replaced or replicated the experience of the ds/3DS/wii/wiiu era of systems
Maybe the switch can mimick the wii competently enough, but the 3DS is extremely specific and very unique
-3D screen
-street pass
-gyro
-one analog stick
-insane amounts of games for dirt cheap
-modding
-CART RIPPING
I can't say it enough this system is something else, and I don't think anything will truly replicate its experience
That's true, nothing has really replicated anything from this past gaming era. It will be interesting to see how Nintendo reworks those games to play on newer hardware.
I’m so happy with mine. Bought a white 3ds ll earlier this year from Japan for less than $200 bucks 🔥
That hyrule edition 3ds looks soooo clean I want one sooo bad
It's one of my favorites!
je suis heureux d'avoir moder ma 2DS XL est d'avoir autant de jeux à ma porter et c'est une console de poche en plus donc je l'amène partout, mon seul problème c'est les serveur internet
