No grudge on Kawhi, he was just a piece of the puzzle, a big piece actually and he just put a validation on how good the raptors can be with 1 superstar plus it also reinforces the fact that we have the best front office and development team in the NBA.
Kawhi leaving helped Pascal's development. Once Kawhi left Pascal knew he had to take that next step which he did (even tho he did mediocre in the Celtics series)
I have no doubt in my mind we could have made it back in 2020 and defeated the Lakers. 2021 is a different story, but with that said I would have liked to see how 2020 FA went if Kawhi had stayed in the North. Too bad we’ll never know 🥲
Probably 2021 the Lakers were unstoppable the 2020 season, with Kobe’s death, and Davis first title there was no chance that a Prime Lebron and Davis would lose to Kawhis team
Kwahi is the reason the raptors got to the finals. Because the bucks/ sixers were good teams and he was a big reason they beat them. But the whole 🌍 knows. The raptors won’t have beat the Warriors. If they were healthy. Klay got injured 🤕 in game 3 and Durant didn’t play. And was foolish to play in the game. He injured his ACL 😢.!!
I'm from SA. That's what you should've expected after what he did to the Spurs, after all they did for him. Pop and the Spurs org made him what he is. He'd not have been the big name he is without the Spurs investing in developing him.
Yes, that Raptors team is very good, with Leonard, plus other players would have wanted to play there to win a chip. No, they would never have won three, maybe repeat.
Nah man everything happens for a reason, him going to clippers didn't do anything for that team. He missed so many games for the Raptors and they played good everytime he sat down or miss the game. We did had a better chance of winning second time around when golden state split up but I was sick of this guy already sitting out games.
@@danielt6689 why does that matters when you loosing regular season games but raptors were good without him during regular season in playoffs he was dying and started limping already. What about clippers I see how well they are doing when he is sitting down. They need to get rid of this resting nonsense
Raptors fan here. I get it, but like stop talking about it 😂 we got the chip. we need to focus on how our team is structured now rather than talking about the past.
I don't think they would have 3-pepeated, but they would've had a good chance at a repeat in 2020. Kawhi was a fool for leaving just to get back to California. I was saying this at the time as well. He should have accepted and signed the 1-year contract extension with Toronto he was offered. I knew that bad knee of his wasn't going to be holding up well anyway. He barely made it to the end of the Finals. I don't see him winning any championships with the Clippers either. He doesn't look happy there, but he HAD to get back to California so soon. 🙄
Bullshit. I'm in Vancouver. The least he could've done is given Toronto another year. Yes we all knew he wanted to go home to play. But if you are traded to a team and you are instrumental in helping that team win a championship don't you feel you owe it to the team and city to stick around another year and try to repeat as champions? Toronto kissed his behind giving him virtually everything for free, Kawine and dine, etc. Drake offered him a free condo I heard. The Raptors were statistically better the year after he left. The players all had better numbers. So what does that tell you? It tells me they'd have repeated as NBA champions had he stuck it out another year in Toronto. They lost in double overtime to the Celtics in a hard fought series. I'd have really liked and respected him more had he stayed in Toronto another season. I'd have called a press conference and have said 'look, you all know I want to go home to play in my hometown. But this is what I am going to do. I am going to sign a max deal with Toronto with the option of opting out after one season should we win or lose another NBA championship. If we win great, I gave Toronto back to back championships, thank you, I enjoyed my time here. Now I'm going to go home and play. Him being one and done in Toronto really didn't sit well with me and I don't forgive him. Yes am grateful for a championship but it was a turn off seeing him so selfishly having to go home and play.

LA wasn't going to vanish off the face of the earth and he'd have been able to have signed with the Lakers or Clippers for sure one year later. I agree the only franchise that even gets close is the Spurs
Kawhi leaving helped Pascal's development. Once Kawhi left Pascal knew he had to take that next step which he did (even tho he did mediocre in the Celtics series)
I wouldn’t say Kawhi shocked the Raptors by leaving for LA. I think they understood all along that that was the likely outcome.
I don’t remember anyone expecting him to stay.
Easy back to back. We did well in 2020 and with Kawhi we would have had the 1 seed and it would’ve been a fun playoff run.
I have no doubt in my mind we could have made it back in 2020 and defeated the Lakers. 2021 is a different story, but with that said I would have liked to see how 2020 FA went if Kawhi had stayed in the North. Too bad we’ll never know 🥲

winning at that level is rarely possible, but winning 2nd chip for the raptors even an 3pt would be severly different from clippers winning their 1st.
I’ve never seen another championship story where they revealed the breaks a team had towards a championship

He has not done Nothing for the Clippers.
We won 2019, we were better than the 2020 Lakers , better than the 2021 bucks and way better than the 2022 warriors.
Raptors were 17-22 during their championship year without kawhi

Hard to do anything for a team when you're out with a torn ACL.

I way rather have Scottie, we have lots of chips in the making. He's been injured for 3 seasons straight anyway.
😅😅😅
This is the truth
The raptors traded for him, knowing that he asked to go to LA, and knowing that he may leave.

Hell yeah he was at his prime they definitely would of had a shot at taking another one I think khawhi should of went to the Lakers cha Ching 🤑
Yes they would have went back to back.

Maybe Leonard can help, but past is past
Maybe we gonna see
Kawhi is savage i hate him
Raptors will win the East and we will have our revenge when we face the LA Clippers coming out of the West
Kawhi would have been a cripple just like he is now
Yall gotta move on from this it's been 4 years
No kawhi . No 🏆
Its been ova.
Raptors would have repeated.
kawhi wins and leaves lebron leaves cuz he can’t win

Kawhi knew he got lucky, so there no point in staying and having the pressure to win again
