My husband was raised country, and was full of old sayings. He had one for every occasion, and I remember him saying this about flowers many times - I don't want your flowers at my funeral if you wouldn't have given them to me when I was alive. I streamed the Netflix special last week, and was thrilled to hear this song. I've been a fan of Tanya's for years, and her voice still sends chills up my spine. Thank you, Brandi, for convincing Tanya she still has a place in our hearts.

Thank you, Ms. Tucker, for being a part of my childhood and now, my adulthood. You are LOVED.

This is beautiful. I just watched the documentary. And this song is the flowers, from a fan (Brandi Carlisle) to Tanya. It was a beautiful bouquet that Brandi gave to Tanya and then Tanya, in turn, gave to all of her fans. So symbolic and profound. Thank you Tanya, for empowering women with your music for 50-some years and thank you Brandi, for empowering Tanya to realize she wasn’t irrelevant; that she is still very much the heartbeat of country music. Much love to you both.
So beautiful. Tanya Mother Tucker is back with not only class, but tact. Which is hard to come by. The way she can tell a story with her voice is so heartwarming, really bittersweet. The ladies and gentlemen of country music better watch out, because this daredevil need not your approval nor you acceptance as she continues to set the bar high in the country music world, be it man or woman. She is a "High Ridin Hero" in the opinion of generations to come.
Johnny Tod You are quite correct. The thing that really, really defines Tanya is her awesome talent. And this song testifies that it is as good as ever has been. BTW, I am a Willcox boy and knew her as a young girl. Been rooting for her ever since.
This whole production could not be anymore outstanding. Tanya’s voice stabs me gently in the heart, as she rides that beautiful horse and stops at the incredible Brandi and her piano. Bravo all around.

Working with Tanya had to be thrill of Brandi Carlile life. I watch the docu last, a few years late, and Brandi was right. Over the years I had kinda forgotten about Tanya. I want let that happen again.

Respect to Tanya Tucker and Brandi Carlile. I've been a Tanya Tucker fan for many years and have most of her music on album, cassette or cd. Thrilled to hear her recording again and this song is most beautiful. From a fellow Singer/Songwriter, this song is gold. Hello from Canada!
So glad I gave my Mom flowers while she was alive. MOM would say if you can't see me when I am alive, don't bother when I'm dead. Her son and two other daughters couldn't be bothered. There were A LOT of Christmases, birthdays,Mother's Days when they didn't call, send a card, nothing. My mother was a good Mom-always had dinner ready at 6:00PM, kept a clean house, wasn't drunk or horrible. It was their loss. I love you, Mom, and miss you everyday. Now my brother and sisters basically ignore me We are never invited to family functions- nothing. It is so sad...
My mom's 2 oldest kids were same way. A few of her step kids were 110% better to her. Mama asked my hubby & I to move in along with our boys to take care of her for about 10 of her last 12 years. Then she required nursing home care due to health issues & being in 👩🦽
Bad guy by Billie Eillish will win bc it’s a popular ass song. I really wanted Norman Fucking Rockwell by Lana to win tho. I just came to check this song bc it was in the song of the year nominations
Today (1/23/24) would have been my mother's 92nd birthday. She was taken way too soon, 25 years ago. Sunny played this song on Willie's Roadhouse this morning and it reminded me of her. My father outlived her by 20 years and missed her dearly. He always bought her flowers and spent years decorating her grave. Still think about both of them almost daily. She battled cancer for 10 years and then passed a few months before their 50th Anniversary. 😢❤
This was exactly the way my Momma lived. When she died in August of 2019, not one flower was present. Her flowers were outside her window for her to look at...growing in the pots her great grandchildren planted them in. The love surrounded her daily. Bu man, the tears did flow when she turned the corner into the next part of her souls journey. Thank you for this song that so perfectly states how she felt.

I’m so glad Brandi holds such reverence for Tanya and convinced her to record again. And yes, like many, the years have taken their toll on her voice….but no matter….it’s a voice that still has a story to tell, through grit and tears.

One of the most meaningful songs I ever heard, alot of kids now days don't care when their parents age they want to put them in assisted living or some horid place because they can't sacrifice a moment of time to care for their parents after these parents sacrificing a lifetime of caring for them, shame on this generation, they too will grow old one day
I have always loved country music and after seeing the documentary of Brandi and scotter Jennings bringing something so pure back I have a lot of admiration because I sing and I didn't get my first guitar till I was 23 I am not trained but I am ok but music moves you move me if you actually want to hear my voice or music outside the voice just wait the next bonfire or hottanany you shall see but I am proud of all of you
First time I heard this song was when she sang it on Loretta Lynn's birthday. I fell in love with it instantly and was looking all over for this song, and then realized the album wasn't out yet lol. This song hit home for me as when my mother (God rest her soul) was terminally ill, I remember her words like it was yesterday, she said "I don't want flowers at my funeral, you want to bring me flowers bring them now as I can't smell them when I'm dead, and we did just that. And I still hold what she said today, so this song had a lot more meaning then just some song to me. My mother always said throughout her life, don't come crying at my funeral and show how much you miss me, show me now. We grew up being raised that way.
Oh my goodness, it just doesn't get any better than this. Her voice, her feeling, her delivery, it all comes together perfectly in a song that cuts so deep. Truly one of the greats, a true legend.
You can't even compare Tanya's song to Scruggs and Flatt's song, Give Me Flowers While I'm Living. The sentiment may be similar, but Tanya's conveyance hits every heartstring. I've lost a lot of people in my life, including a husband in my 20's. Thank you Tanya for your "relaunch". I'm a singer, I'm in my 60's. You've inspired me to not ever stop singing. Thank you
Hands down my favorite female country singer always was always will be. Saw Tanya when I was 18 then many years later my late wife and I saw her in Orlando, I will cherish the memory forever.
My husband was raised country, and was full of old sayings. He had one for every occasion, and I remember him saying this about flowers many times - I don't want your flowers at my funeral if you wouldn't have given them to me when I was alive. He was the one,who picked a single rose in the garden and put it behind.my ear.his way to show.me how he loved.me was priceless.i have so many beautyful.memories.of him with looking at me with a big smile and his beautyful, brown eyes.he made me the happiest woman on earth.thats why i miss him every day, more and more.he was the love of my life and my soulmate, too.❤
The grief never goes away. The possessions will. The memories are forever. ❤
Amen you are loved
Utter brilliance. Two icons working together to make musical magic.
@Tanya Tucker When I was a little kid riding in the way back seat of my parents' Oldsmobile station wagon, my mother would put on the 8-track of "Delta Dawn" and we would all sing along along until we wore that tape OUT. Thank you, Ms. Tucker, for being a part of my childhood and now, my adulthood. You are LOVED.
Gawd damn it how to turn an old man in to a train wreck😢. You still got it Tanya❤
Congratulations to Tanya Tucker on her 1st & 2nd Grammy Awards !!! Well DESERVED !!! Her voice is strong and her life has had many challenges, yet she continues to thrive !!!
Love her voice!
Tanya is not only a legend but she paved the way for other women in Country Music .
Hello Alice..

Hi there
Thanks for your love and support that has brought me this far, it has been a hard time for me going through this but your love and support keeps me going and standing strong in this difficult times. I do read your heartwarming comments and I truly appreciate all you’ve done for me throughout the years.
It’s a season of love for me and so I decided to put a smile on the faces of my fans by going through my UA-cam channel and checking out on my fans, so I can get to communicate with my fans better through discussion of depth and humor listening to compliments and criticism of my career.💝

This album needs to be nominated for the CMA Awards next year. Tanya's way overdue for induction into the hall of fame too.
Johnny Tod You are quite correct. The thing that really, really defines Tanya is her awesome talent. And this song testifies that it is as good as ever has been.
BTW, I am a Willcox boy and knew her as a young girl. Been rooting for her ever since.
Johnny Tod...my wife's favorite singer!
She sings this as good as Tanya, have to get her a ticket for Toronto in May.
Don Reid do it!!!
She has always been what my kids would call a badass...I’ve loved every song she ever mad...
This whole production could not be anymore outstanding. Tanya’s voice stabs me gently in the heart, as she rides that beautiful horse and stops at the incredible Brandi and her piano. Bravo all around.
Thanks for supporting my music 🎶 I’m so grateful 🥰 and I hope you never stop being a fan, I would like to honor you by giving you my personal information if that’s ok by you.💜❣️
I absolutely love Tanya.....she's a classy legend...Congrats ❤
❤
My God, this is one Powerful piece of beautiful music. How fortunate I've been to be overwhelmed by emotion upon its hearing. Over and Over. Thank you Tanya and Brandi.
Working with Tanya had to be thrill of Brandi Carlile life. I watch the docu last, a few years late, and Brandi was right. Over the years I had kinda forgotten about Tanya. I want let that happen again.
Has not lost anything, a true unreal voice
I seriously think this song is gonna sweep the Grammys. She’s long overdue. Well deserved. Probably the deepest and most emotional song I’ve ever heard in this century
Good call.
You were right!
Amen one of the best songs out there
You never needed grammys or accolades to show the world how very talented you ❤️ were. This song 🎵 is absolutely beautiful just like you ❤️ ❤️.

Wow! .... a 21st century classic.
Country Music Hall Of Fame. ❤
My birthday is October 10 1959 wish I’d had the chance to see at least once Love you keep singing young lady ❤
Then she required nursing home care due to health issues & being in 👩🦽
That's heartbreaking,
You are the only one that could of sung this. You did it so great for all of us old wild Cowgirls. Thanks Tanya.❤
Song of the year Grammy 2019... We coming through!!
Bad guy by Billie Eillish will win bc it’s a popular ass song. I really wanted Norman Fucking Rockwell by Lana to win tho. I just came to check this song bc it was in the song of the year nominations
Jay Cobe we can only hope.
Come on Tanya bring home the Grammys.
If there`s any justice in the world it should.None is even close.
Love it
Today (1/23/24) would have been my mother's 92nd birthday. 😢❤
Was always special from the start. Deserves flowers❤
Dang, I just watch this, and I tip my hat to you both. Thank you for the tears of love I cried as I watch this. Thank you.
Thanks for supporting my music 🎶 I’m so grateful 🥰 and I hope you never stop being a fan, I would like to honor you by giving you my personal information if that’s ok by you.💜❣️

None of that pop country nonsense! Long live Tanya Tucker, this is beautiful 😊
Death has no empathy, I'm now 60 I've seen all the greats come & pass on, our generation is now near end of our lifes realm we to will be forgotten but it was one hell of a ride . It was great to hear Tammy once again our time clock although still ticking is fading quietly til it grabs us in the end ....
Tanya.
Your comment is as touching as the words to this song! I felt your words as I feel the song. I am but 53 and couldnt agree more even at 60 if I make it that long.

I'm 51. Listen to Tanya my whole life. This is my favorite song EVER. She wrote a great book you all should read it.
I grew up with Tanya and Tammy, Loretta and Dolly. But it’s her voice that feels like a warm blanket, wrapping you up in memories of childhood. I’m so glad Brandi holds such reverence for Tanya and convinced her to record again. And yes, like many, the years have taken their toll on her voice….but no matter….it’s a voice that still has a story to tell, through grit and tears.
I watched her performance on the Grammy's and I was so mesmerized by her voice. I will admit I can't truly name too many Country artist, but when I find a song that I love it is locked in. I will be checking out her stuff from here on out.
She is a very soulful country artist.

Probably the most beautiful song I've ever heard. Seemingly out of nowhere Tanya Tucker brings a song that belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of ballads.
Still can’t believe they shot this in my town! Carthage TN. WOW
The guy in the pastor/priest outfit in front of Waltons 1:17 mark , he looks familiar, but can't place him. Is he local do you know?
I’m so close to you in Red Boiling Springs. Tennessee is definitely a fit for the video
I hear a touch of Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn and thats why I love her voice so much! Congrats on that Grammy win!!!!!!

Cried again. Love this song. Great job T And B.
THIS is what a real country song is for the poor generation that missed out and have been exposed to that garbage on the radio these days. For many of us who grew up with singers like Tanya Tucker, it is a privilege to be able to hear her classic voice once again.

Hello Terry..
@@terryduran8783 I don't believe that is Tanya responding. There are a lot of phonies & frauds claiming to be a famous person.
"We all think we got the time, until we don't".
We all think we have
Time .. until we don't ...
One of the most meaningful songs I ever heard, alot of kids now days don't care when their parents age they want to put them in assisted living or some horid place because they can't sacrifice a moment of time to care for their parents after these parents sacrificing a lifetime of caring for them, shame on this generation, they too will grow old one day
What goes around comes around!
I have always loved country music and after seeing the documentary of Brandi and scotter Jennings bringing something so pure back I have a lot of admiration because I sing and I didn't get my first guitar till I was 23 I am not trained but I am ok but music moves you move me if you actually want to hear my voice or music outside the voice just wait the next bonfire or hottanany you shall see but I am proud of all of you
Grammys brought me here also ,so beautiful...Do not wait too late ,tell people how you feel now...
Oh that’s so true! 😢
This is absolutely deserves Grammy! Can't stop listening... Just brilliant! Kisses from Belarus!
Your Vitalio she just got it.
She got 2 last night
