Sorry folks, YT decided to block the video portion of High Hopes, BUT my reaction to it is from watching the video of it. Loved both as guaranteed! Thanks for watching!! 🥰
No problem about the blocked video. Anyway, this was a bonus after Floyd Friday, lol. I hope you will soon react to On The Turning Away live from 1988. One of David's greatest ever solos!
Thanks for understanding....now I'm scared to try any video reaction LOL ugh...next time I'll add a nice still photo from the show or something if it happens again...Oh yes OTTA '88 has 5 votes, so it will happen... 🙂
Since my mom's passing, High Hopes makes me cry...every time. I introduced her to Pink Floyd, around the time this album came out, and she fell in love with their sound. It's already an emotional piece...just made all the more with her memory! Great reaction Brandon! This music will NEVER die.
Thanks for sharing Darren. My condolences to you. Yes when a great song reminds you of a close loved one, the song becomes even more beautiful and special...Thanks so much for watching....Yes, much of what I'm discovering here will be heard until the end of time!
Enjoyed your reaction to Pink Floyd! I was fortunate to see Pink Floyd on this Pulse tour at The Alamodome in San Antonio with 47,000 fans! I had 18th row seats on the floor, and it was an experience of a lifetime! Was also fortunate to see them in 1987 in Austin!
There's another version of "High Hopes" from the David Gilmour live in Gdansk concert.. the one in which he and Richard Wright performed "Echoes" from 2006. He also performs High Hopes but with full strings accompaniment right there up on the stage behind him. What makes this version so special is at the end of the solo (which he does with a little more flair), he reaches around and picks up an acoustic guitar and we're treated to another 2 to 3 minutes of the beautiful sound of his acoustic guitar against these soft luscious strings on a darkened stage. Talk about emotional.. omg. 😢 Yes, it is a must see!
And as you can imagine, the movie doesn't do it justice. It was so overwhelming from beginning to end. Still makes me feel emotional after all that time. Thanks dude!
"The Pulse" tour... NOW things are getting serious! 😀 I loved your smile the first time we saw Richard Wright at the beginning of the video, I knew seeing him would make you feel emotional 🙂
Years have passed but I still can't get enough of listening & watching Pulse. I have the original double CD with the pulsating light and the DVD as well, and they still get played from time to time. Thanks for reminding me that I should get my usual dose soon. I just love watching hyperactive Gary Wallis on percussion, and of course Durga McBroom, Claudia Fontaine and ever-lovely Sam Brown looking like angels in their white outfits, swinging gracefully on stage, adding great aura to the show with their incredible harmony. Thanks again & cheers from Istanbul.
Yes, you are due for your Pulse RX refill haha! Yes, can't forget the amazing female singers here....Wow!! I bet you're my only viewer from Istanbul!! Thank you so much for watching me and for the comments!! ☺
What can be said that hasn't already been said? I can still vividly recall walking out of the stadium late at night smoke still hanging in the air from the massive fireworks that went off at the finale of "Run Like Hell" that lit up the Chicago sky, and hearing everyone around me saying things like they've never seen anything like it; best concert ever. A mix of giddy, worn out and stoned. I guess I fell somewhere in between. LOL. Like others have said, you can feel like you're baked just watching and listening to the transcendental power of their music without ever having taken a toke. I had to work the next day it was on a weeknight. I didn't go in.
@@retroreactions.... more like I called in Floyd. lol I mean seriously, how do you just go home and go to bed after that and you have to get up at 5 a.m. Nope. TBH they were warned down at work I might not be in the next day. They understood.
What a wonderful live version! What an unforgettable and addictive concert (with the very judicious title "Pulse")! Full view, full ears. Supreme PINK FLOYD... and without Roger Waters. Thanks.
Wait a minute….. a double Pink Floyd on Saturday, after Pink Floyd Friday!!! Brandon , you’re spoiling us! 🌈Absolutely NO complaints. I had the privilege to see this tour on July 3,1994, up in Madison, Wisconsin. Although it rained for the entire show, that only enhanced the lasers and all. If you look back at the end of “Comfortably Numb”, Mr. Screen lowers down during David’s solo. Also 2000 subs is just around the corner. Congrats buddy! 📀📀
I'm just full of surprises LMAO! The Wall full album tomorrow! (J/K)....So awesome you got to attend....I guess it'll happen tomorrow, thank you so much! It's all due to kind people like you who choose to support and appreciate me....💙
I always love a good Pink Floyd reaction. Well done Brandon. Now do yourself a favor and listen to High Hopes Live in Pompeii 2016. A 70 year old David Gilmour and his talented band perform in the same Pompeii Amphitheater from the 1971 sessions with Pink Floyd. Don't even react to it. Just watch it and listen on your own time. If you are not brought to tears, I will buy you a cup of coffee.
@@retroreactions.... I just love how he closes out with the extended acoustic segment. So emotional and eloquent. The whole ambiance of the amphitheater is beautiful. On another note. Are you familiar with the group from the 70's.....WAR? They have quite an array in their catalog. You being a keyboardist.....I would recommend their piece "Deliver the Word". They have it on YT. Listen to the album version, not live versions.
Ah War...Well I know 3 songs from them...the biggest ones of course...I see Deliver on Spotify....I will add it to my list, thanks for reminding me about this band...

Tried a few times, but nope. So my reaction is from watching the video of it. I didn't wanna just scrap it, as it was requested by several here...😢
Solid reaction, man! Tim's work with Pink Floyd compliments David's guitar perfectly. He fits tonally with a little more flash while still giving the Floyd feel. I often with they would have done one tour with Roger and keeping the PULSE touring musicians. One album as set one, another as set two, working all the way through their entire catalogue in the process. I'd have loved to hear updated versions of their early work the way they did with Astronomy Domine in '94. Tim and David working together on Animals in a live setting would have been killer.
Saw this 5 times.200,000 watts of power 4 sets of 32 speakers which they were able to move the helicopter sound around. last of 14 days in a row sold out.
