GetGood Drums One Kit Wonder: Architects vs Metal vs Modern Fusion vs Toontrack Superior Drummer 3

Sound comparison of the GGD OKW:Architects / Metal / Modern Fusion / Toontrack SD3 Death&Darkness drum libraries. All three GGD libraries with the exact same sound settings in the plugin, which you find in the video, and with no additional mixing. The SD3 drum sound, which is the one I originally used for my song here, was completely mixed within the virtual instrument.
Which drum kit do you like most? One of the out-of-the-box sounds from the OKW libraries or the fully mixed sounds from the SD3 Death&Darkness kit?

In my honest opinion the OKW's sound the best. Especially for the price. I've never used Kontakt but I've really been considering Metal or Architects.

All those kontakt libraries are good enough for demos, for realistic programmed drums sd3 is the undisputed king. And that’s a fact.

Fully agree with you. I was still (again) surprised how well the OKD could compete with the polished SD3 mix without any additional tweaking. It`s great to have such fantastic sounding options if you need a quick solution e.g. for songwriting 😊

Not long enough to really have an opinion about it. My go-to sounds are mainly SD3 (Death&Darkness) combined with some additional samples. If you look for mix-ready drum kits my favorite are the Mixwave Gojira and GGD OKW:Metal
