Hey Everyone! We normally dont upload on the weekends, but I wanted to make sure we get all profession guides out before launch! Thanks so much for watching! I hope you enjoy
The thing that always turned me off professions over the years you couldn't really turn a profit by buying mats to crafting and sell, as mats tends to cost more than the finished product most of the time. Sure there was gold to be made, but usually only if you went in hard and early, which resulted in people sinking tons of gold into maxing out fast and then making it back before the price goes down too much. By the time the average player catches up, there is not much profit to be made, and without farming your own mats you mostly craft at a loss. I did some herb/alchemy to craft my own flasks, until I realized it was better to just sell the herbs and buy flasks, which feels so backwards. Crafting should add value. With this new system, will this change you think?
Unsure tbh. If ur picking ur own flowers to increase flower quality so ur not buying most of those herbs urself and thus continue to increase ur alchemy quality you'll stand out and have ur pots bought. I think there'll be potential you just gotta put the time into trying it out and checking in on the auction house on what makes more gold ur high quality herbs (which you'll need for high quality alchemy) or ur high quality alchemy products.
Thanks for all of your hard work! I can tell these take a lot of effort to not only learn but also to then teach all of us. And you are a very thorough teacher so good job! Question(s)! How much do these profession stats weigh? +60 to multicraft equates to what %, like is that a lot or not? Can you max out a profession stat to essentially guarantee you multicraft something? Some classes have secondary stats that are very static with (x) amount of mastery points will yield (y) amount of mastery % until they start reaching diminishing returns... is it similar with profession stats or no? I hope my question makes sense.
Great Videos! They have been very informative! I especially liked that you spoke of alts! I've decided 1 or 2 alts will become the most efficient inker, prospector, cloth weaver etc. This way hopefully I maximize my output of raw mats sent to them for processing.
Great guide! Regional ah really makes this xpac seem like a struggle to make gold. I feel like I’m on the tail end of every rush. I’ve lost 1.5mil investing into all of the professions and some patterns. The work order system is underutilized right now so that’s part of the issue. Hopefully I can make it back and then some. Your vids help for sure. Thanks!
Yes its on its way! trying to get all of the professions out before launch... one may overlap with launch but it will be here within the next week and a half!
Alchemy is pretty much the only profession ever worth taking. It's always useful. The only other one even worth talking about is maybe engineering just for the fun of it. My main will always be an alchemist and my alts double gather.
Alchemy looking very very good, torn between trying something new or sticking to Blacksmithing. I do not mind the rng so much, hopefully if I go this route I will not be so unlucky. Thank you for the vid bro, very thorough.
I'm planning to main gatherings while leveling up my character, and later change into Alchemy when I reach 70. My question is if I forget a profession and learn another, and maybe change back into the old profession later, do I keep all the skill points and recipes of the forgetton ones?
If you drop a profession you will lose all your progress (besides Specialization progression), so if you have rare recipes, you are lvl 100/100, you will lose all recipes and go back to 0/100
Ohband thanks to you, 2months i been playing , i since i am a gathering, i never knew i had a daily quest/weekly, and i figure/looked up what item was .. the item you bring to guy and get knowledge, but did not know bout master and daily/weekly un tell you said.. a d the rare drops... i gather so much, i just fiure someingbgoibg to drop, lol
Thanks a lot for the video. Very well explained. Although i'm not quite sure i understood how this is good for alt armies. Is it because you get access to a lot of different recipes or did i misunderstand something?
Alchemy is decent for alts due to the transmute cooldowns - granted you may have to pay for the BoE recipes, or just farm them on your main for your alts, orrrr just use that one transmute daily that you get from leveling, but they can be helpful if specific awakened(s) are worth more than others
I'm a tad bit concerned with Alchemy. I feel like the supply is going to be incredibly high with all the stuff that you can make and the specs themselves so profits are going to be incredibly low.
Quality is a big deal here. You will notice potions (and phials) require ALOT of skill to craft at max quality. Only the people who really specialize and have access to a lot of knowledge points will be able to do that
The main reason i made myb1st alt, was to hold main item/mats, then it became another bank, then guildie said i need to go by som potions for NAXX, thats i said i can have my alt buy and send in mail so you dont have to go to town, after that, he be came my auction man/bank, made another toon to herb.. and so on, i had all slots full, then i liked playing, so they became max level, but all got nerf doen to 30-35
„Hochenblume“ in fact looks like a made-up German word. „Blume“ literally means flower. „Hoch“ means „up“, but it can also mean „high“ (as in Highmountain). But you wouldn’t call it Hochenblume in German. Wowhead tells me it’s actually „Hochblume“ in the German localization which sounds a bit more like it could be a real thing.
I have planned to focus on transmutates with one of my alts, however, I am a little bit disapointed if there will not be any other than elements available. For example, cooldowns to create better bars or something like that.
It’s the traditional “element” style transmutes that we’ve seen in the past with Primals and Eternals, etc. Maybe we will get something better in a later patch!
This morning I tried 40x advanced potion alchemical research and didn't unlock a single recipe... Still don't have the ultimate power potion and wasted 200 artisans mettle. Feels absolutely awful :(
@@Penguinr2gt yeah but is this normal that you don't get a single recipe discovered via advance experimentation at all? I spent at least 300 artisan's mettle on advance phial experiments and didn't get anything. You tried basic one and got 2 discoveries out of 3 tries. I thought that maybe it's because "basic" is easier but then I watch another alchemy video and another guy gets like 3 recipies out of 5 tries with "Advance potion experiment". So the only difference here is that nobody I've seen tried "Advanced phial experiments". To me it looks like a serious bug and nothing related to luck when sombody is 50-66% successfull on 3-5 tries and others 0% successfull on ~60 tries. Did anyone else got screwed with "advanced phial experiments" or got lucky?
So i can make my Main with 2 porfessions and my alt beeing a herb/ore farmer? or whats the best setup? iam pretty lazy with professions so i guess Alchemy only ?
Yea! I recommend grouping two crafting professions together and then mine/herb together on another. You never have to focus on professions, so even if you dont plan to use it much, picking up a second crafting to go along with alchemy will be worth it!
This is just the guide I was looking for, thank you, but I have a question: Would you recommend to buy ASAP the profession equipment? Before making any craft? Or it's not that important during leveling the profession? Thanks.
Hey! Thanks so much for watching. In terms of equipment, it will likely be a later-purchase than an early one. Theres two types of each equipment - the BiS version (showcased in these videos) and then a lesser quality BoE version. Depending on the profession, when leveling you will likely create these lesser versions yourself and then you can just use them to benefit yourself, or in the case like alchemy you can simply buy the basic versions off the AH whenever you want for an extra boost. I dont think you need to buy any sort of equipment until youve gone thru your initial leveling (1-65, 1-50, 1-60, etc. depending on the profession)! hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions!
Really depends on what you want to get out of it. Are you a raider/high end content player that will want to make their own gear? if so, I recommend picking up that specific armor profession. Do you want to make your own potions and benefit more from them? I recommend alchemy. Do you want the utility that engineering brings? Pick up engineering. Really cant go wrong with any!
Ive heard that leveling and this xpac being alt friendly is apparently going to be a thing so it might not hurt to lv one or two more toons if you're REALLY wanting some more professions to choose from and utilize. Gathering doesnt hurt since theres the quality system. Like she said tho if ur into harder content u may want to invest in ur main toons armor/wep specialty whether its tailoring, LW, or BS to be able to make high item lv gear. If u want it to be simple but potentially effective with gold making id definitely recommend alchemy and/or maybe even inscription since theyre capable of making knowledge books that will sell as well as a potential powerful trinket. Alchemists can make these trinks that synergize with ur potion use so that might be into ur consideration with ur main. Hope that helped. Go with what u want really tho! :)
i assume the transmutes is a daily cooldown baseline? if so then im gonna get this on as many toons as i can, and prop tailoring on the rest, im gonna go all in alt army!
hi, was wondering if the phials/potions are classified as reagents? they got the "crafting reagent" blue text. If so, does Chemical Synthesis (the multicraft tree for reagents) affect them?
Hello! Thank you for your video. When you say that knowledge points and trees are permanent and you can not change it. Does that mean if we go into potion experimentation you can never switch to batch production when you unlock all the recipes? Or do you know if you can pay gold for some item to reset? Thank you!
You can unlock everything, its not "pick this or that" - you just need enough knowledge points to learn it all. You cant reset any points once you use them
If you are someone with alts, you will likely want to set up Transmutes on your alts so you can allocate all your main's points to something a bit more "advanced" - however, if you dont have alts, go for it on your main! Theres not really a right or wrong option!
Currently I'm in Phial and was wonder what do I want to have on my tools the optional reagent? I was thinking Multi but not sure if thats good (I plan to mainly make pots and phial for myself or guild members)
Theres no right or wrong answer - Multicraft and resourefulness will be good in the future once you can guarantee yourself Q3 potions - if you cant do that yet, Inspiration is very strong
Do we need lvl 70 to use our alts for daily cooldowns? Also on the cooldowns do we have to login every 12 hrs for example to use them or can we craft 5 every 3 days or something like this
ehm.. ok i get it they whana make specializations.. fine.. but can u get both potion spec and flask spec to maxx at some point? or u just need to 2 alchemmists if u whana get the best potions and best flasks?
