Sabbath was not a day for "going to church" but a day to rest from work. Synagogue meetings were held on Saturdays but Synagogues were not God's doing. Believers in Christ worship 24-7 and are free to gather any day of the week or as many days of the week they desire. Sunday became a meeting day for early Christians because that was the day Jesus rose from the dead. Sunday did not become a new sabbath.
Worship and keeping a day holy are two different things that we don't want to confuse ;) Tonight's video is about this topic, hope you'll check it out.
Interesting discussions on which day we should rest but the commandment is much more than that. We should rest and "not cause anyone else to do work". So if you go to a store, go somewhere to eat or a host of other activities you are causing someone else to work which breaks the commandment. In today's day and age it is extremely difficult to keep so I am glad we are saved by grace and not the law.
I can tell you @Arnold Linder from personal experience, it is not as hard as you might think ;) It is very liberating, and provides (from at least my personal influence) the opportunity to others to also enjoy God's gift of the Sabbath rest. It's too wonderful to keep to yourself, it's something you want to share with others to make the world a better place and give individuals the so much needed rest. Where you say it is extremely difficult, I might say, it is not difficult, but extremely much needed ;) And more than that, resting on the Sabbath from our works, is the biggest sign of righteousness by faith! Praise God that we are under grace, and not the condemnation of the law, so we can experience all this :)
Jesus said: If ye love me, keep my commandments. Now my question: is God's commandments a burden to you? Why of all the 10 commandments, only the 4th commandments is a Burden to many people? It's easy for them to obey the other 9 commandments but to keep the sabbath is burden to them? Then if it's burden to many, it also mean that they don't really Love God.
@@brianeastman3547 That is sad my brother but remember God gives us what we need, not what we want. I too longed for love only to find that God is the first and only love that is needed. God loves without circumstance and loves us despite our sins! No love greater then His! 💯 I pray you see this and keep your focus on our Lord. He gives us the desires of our hearts but never in our time, always His timing. 😇
I like you and your calm way of teaching this. I do agree with you about the Sabbath but can't agree that 7th day Adventist is the way to go... There is sooooooo much more to God's word than just honoring the Sabbath and Seventh day adventists are not the only Christian doctrine that does that. Thank you for such a good video bro, I appreciate it.
Hey appreciate your comment Randy! True, there's way more to Scripture than just the Sabbath. But lemme challenge you if you're up for it. Watch this video we made and share your thoughts: ua-cam.com/video/FTobEWEyD-Y/v-deo.html It opened our eyes big time when we first began to understand this.
Actually the first recorded incident was around ad70 when the Christians in Rome avoided persecution of the “sabbath keepers” by switching to Sunday. A similar event happened in the 2nd century in Alexandria to avoid a massacre. However the vast majority of the Church continued to observe the sabbath at least upto Constantine Constantine approved Sunday worship The Roman Catholic Church affirmed Sunday. But most of the church ignored this. The great schism of the Roman and Eastern church int he second millennium was over sabbath worship. The Catholic Church continues to claim that it changed to Sunday on its own authority In fact most major Protestant denominations also affirm this
Pray without ceasing and Jesus is himself the High Priest which means everyday is the day of the Lord;and only thing is together with others in somewhen
@Sara B Thank you for sharing your thoughts. You are right that we can never earn righteousness by our actions, very important. But does this exclude focusing on our actions at all? Listen to these important words from Jesus Himself, our Savior, "If you love Me, keep My commandments" John 14:15. So Jesus Himself tells us that being saved and loving Him, leads us to keep His commandments. Not because we believe that we will be saved by them, but because we love Him. The letter of James tells us clearly that faith without works is dead. So in short, you might not feel that it matters to you, but Jesus says that it matters to Him. Because He saved you, He wants us to keep His commandments, which proves that we love and even know Him. "Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments." 1 John 2:3. We are in a relationship with Jesus, and in a loving relationship you don't look at what matters to you, you look at what matters to your partner. Keeping His law is a big deal to Him, so it should be to us as well. I'd want to recommend this short blog post: thechristianlife.com/a-lifestyle-of-worship/
Yeah, I thought about this long and hard, but this is ridiculous. 99% of Churches worship on sunday, even my family who know their history who are not that convinced. So finding a Church where I'm at to worship on Saturday is least likely to happen. The commandment says to keep the sabbath day Holy, it doesn't say I can't keep a different day Holy instead. I don't agree with what the Catholic Church did at all, but I'm left with no choice. My family has their own Church. My salvation isn't based on the Sabbath day, but grace through faith. And the thief on the cross was saved last minute. I'm pretty sure Jesus cares more about you avoiding sin that keeping the Sabbath. Anyone can keep the Sabbath and be a hypocrite. He cares about holiness. Do you know how many people were saved who didn't keep the Sabbath?
Jon Pierre Lane you have to follow God Jon obey and keep the commandments I can’t find a church either where I live to go to a church on Saturday and I’m not going to 7th day Adventist church so I’ll just find a church that truly of God thats on Saturday if it’s online or not I follow Jesus and not the catholic tradition 🙏🏽

When God puts it on your heart, do what God calls you to do ;) I have attended several Sunday services after I became an Adventist, for different reasons I believe God impressed me with.
Hi Linda, thank you for asking that important and good question. Where abouts do you live? We can recommend to at least to keep the Sabbath in your home. Perhaps that can even grow into a house church ;) There are a lot of churches that broadcast their services online. You can see if you can join them online, and maybe gather others around you on the Sabbath that want to join in too. One if the ministries I can highly recommend is Amazing Facts (they broadcast their services every week).
@@lindamartin4265 it is true that the Bible tells us to do gather together (Leviticus 23:3). So we would advice to join a local church, or if there is none in the area to start gathering together with others who want to keep the Sabbath day holy. Do you have a local church in your area?
You also seemed to have missed a day is defined in Scripture as an evening followed by morning. Is it more likely that Paul preached on the first day until midnight (ie preached from sundown till midnight or later) or did he preach for many more hours the following day If something is mentioned twice in scripture is is considered important. If mentioned three times is considered very important. But apparently when God mentions it SIX times the church suddenly doesn’t know what it means Good video
Hey buddy. I agree man. I was going to consider this 7th day adventist church but however, they honor man made traditions, easter and christmas...i just wish i can go to a Church that keeps Sabbath without honoring these holidays.
You do not have to celebrate these man made traditions, like holidays. I am a seventh day Adventist and I do not celebrate Easter. And some don’t celebrate Christmas. :)
@@edithgonzalez2072 Hi edith. Thats awesome. Did u find it hard to attend church since u may have different beliefs about man made traditions compared to other church brethren there?? I just always felt we were expected to have similar beliefs regarding "traditions" amongst a church...thanks for ur feedback edith
Hi I saw your comment now, dont know if you still have the same question but thought to answer in case you do :) I know many people in the adventist church that does not celebrate easter or christmas, it is up to each one to decide if they do or not. Yes there are many adventists that have not yet discovered that it is from very pagan origins, and some that know but might not ’care enough’ to stop with it :/ so it varies. There are definitley people in each adventist church that do not celebrate it - we dont for example. We do however use the oportunity for outreach to non-believers since thats one of the few times here in seculair scandinavia when tou can talk easier with people about Jesus and they are okey with you doing that :P For us we have found the avdntist church to be the one that bases their doctrines on the Word of God most of all churches - does that mean peopoe are perfect? And that everyone in the church follows or stand for those doctrines? No. Unfortunatley not. Thats why you will not find a unity in the standards and principles always, but it definitley is an important topic to seek out, what church to go to. This even has biblical significance prophetically speaking, thats what we discovered from the bible and why we chose to go to the adventist church even if not everything is perfect, but we see that it is Gods end time prophetic movement. I will link to a video we made that explains it more, i suggest to prayerfully watch it and seek God thourougly on this topic🙏🤗 I say a prayer for you too! God bless you in your search for Gods truth and ways!🙏
In addition the words translated as “the Lord’s day” in the Greek is grammatically NO DIFFERENT from the existing term “the Day of the Lord” which relates to the coming of Jesus in judgement It is the translators choice to write “the Lord’s day”. Something that ONLY occurs in translations in the book of Revelation. Everywhere else in scripture in the Greek ( and in the Greek of the OT septugint) is always translated as “the Day of the Lord”
@@thechristianlife Yes, but very little. I have seen some thumbnails on Allen Parr's channel but that's pretty much all my intel, and based on those thumbnails he doesn't seem think it's a good church.😅 Maybe he even thinks it's cult-like but I don't know his opinion for sure.

Romans 14:5-8 'One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.' Constantine (325 AD) DID NOT change the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday as Sabbath keepers falsely teach. Christians never kept the Sabbath from the apostolic age (33 AD) through the time of Constantine (325AD). Constantine merely made the first "Sunday closure law", since it had already been the day Christians worship for 300 years!
It's true that there were people keeping the Sunday already before Constantine's decree, but these people had strayed from the truth. That's not an argument for us to do the same ;) There are many records that prove that true, Bible believing Christians have been keeping the Sabbath throughout all time.
@@thechristianlife Show me in the Bible where the Apostles taught the early church to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy? Give book, chapter and verse.
@@kac0404 In Genesis 2:1-3, we learn that the God who created the world also rested on the seventh day, blessed it, and made it holy. What does the scripture say about our creator? "15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by[f] him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross." (Colossians 1:15-20) "All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made." (John 1:3) Hebrews 1:8-10: "8 But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. 9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.” 10 And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands;" These verses reveal that God the Father created everything in existence through His Son Jesus Christ. We can conclude it was Jesus who rested on the seventh day, blessed it, and sanctified it. Jesus himself claimed to be the Lord of the Sabbath. (See Matthew 12:8) Let us now look into the Three Angels Message. The First Angel with the everlasting gospel to proclaim to everyone on earth. He said with a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water." (Revelation 14:6-7) The message reminds us to worship the one who made heaven and earth. We can also see the reminder that the Lord is the creator of heaven and earth in the Fourth commandment. "For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy." (Exodus 20:11) Exodus 20:11 is part of the Fourth Commandment. "16 Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever. 17 It is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed." ( Exodus 31:16-17) The verse above shows that it is a covenant between God and us. It is also reminding us that He is the creator. Why is this being pointed out? "and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness." Ephesians 4:24) "26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules." (Ezekiel 36:26-27) Redemption is creation as he is creating us in His likeness. In faith, we believe He will do what he promised. Let us now take a brief look into the rest of the Third Angels message. The second Angels message talks about the fall of Babylon. (Revelation 14:8)(Revelation 18) The Third Angels message warns us not to worship the beast and its image. (Revelation 14:9-11) If we look into the book of Daniel, there was an issue of worship in Babylon because of the golden Image that Nebuchadnezzar has set up(See Daniel 3). In Revelation 18, God is calling his people out of Babylon. What does the Lord say about the Sabbath? “This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Tomorrow is a day of solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord;" (Exodus 16:23) "but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God." (Deuteronomy 5:14) "and keep my Sabbaths holy that they may be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God." (Ezekiel 20:20) We can reckon from these verses that the Sabbath belongs to the Lord. It is a sign between us that we acknowledge that He is our God. " 12 Moreover, I gave them my Sabbaths, as a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them." (Ezekiel 20:12) "13 “You are to speak to the people of Israel and say, ‘Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you." (Exodus 31:13) Again the Lord points out that it is His sabbath. "For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified." (Hebrews 10:14) From the verse above, we can conclude that Sabbath is the sign of sanctification for people throughout time. What does Paul in his epistle says about the rest that God calls his rest? Hebrews 4:1-11 says: 1 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. 2 For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest,’” although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” 5 And again in this passage he said, “They shall not enter my rest.” 6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Here Paul is quoting from Psalms 95, where the Holy Spirit spoke through David about his rest. According to Paul, we are to enter into God's rest (sabbath rest remains). How do we keep the Sabbath according to scripture? "If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holyday; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable; and shalt honor him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord." (Isaiah 58:13, 14) 'And they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”-so that they might accuse him. 11 He said to them, “Which one of you who has a sheep, if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out? 12 Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”'(Matthew 12:10-12) Sabbath is a memorial of creation. We can delight in the Lord by meditating on his nature to be reminded of His power and promise. We can remember that the power that made this world and sanctified it is the one who sanctifies us. By faith, we enter into his rest confident that he who started his work in us would complete it by the day of the Lord.(Philippians 1:6) As Paul said, "Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience." (Hebrews 4:11) We should all in faith strive into entering into his rest. :)

@@anishbajagain1705 Christ’s death on Calvary ended the Law of Moses which included the Ten Commandments. For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives.” These commandments were nailed to Calvary’s cross. (Colossians 2:13-14) “And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. John 20:26-29 Pentecost happened on the first day of the week! The Church was born on the first day of the week! That doesn't make Sunday the Sabbath, it just tells you that after the resurrection of Jesus, the Sabbath is not emphasized. When a day is mentioned in connection with the appearances of the risen Lord Jesus, it is always the first day of the week. Look at the extremely important events that occurred in the life of the first followers of Christ on the first day of the week. 1). Jesus startled them by appearing to them on the first day (John 20:19). 2). Jesus received worship from Thomas (John 20:27-28). 3). Sunday evening Jesus took bread and blessed it and broke it and gave it to His disciples evidently like He had in instituting the communion meal (Luke 22:19) and their "eyes were opened and they recognized Him" (Luke 24:31). 4). Sunday evening Jesus blessed His disciples twice saying "Peace be with you" (John 20:20; 26). 5). That same Sunday evening Jesus "...breathed on them and said, 'receive the Holy Spirit'" John 20:22. 6). On Sunday evening Jesus gave His disciples the ecclesiastical authority to proclaim forgiveness to those who believe in Him through the Gospel (John 20:23).
Colossians 2:16-17 "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ." Jesus Christ came down to earth to give us a NEW COVENANT. The old covenant is DONE, it is over, we Christians live under a NEW COVENANT which is the NEW TESTAMENT.
Thank you for sharing. We hear that objection a lot. This text is probably one of the most misinterpreted verses about this topic. I have personally used it myself as well to attack the Sabbath. @@thechristianlife NO, NO, The text is not out of context, it says that "these things were SHADOWS of the things that were to come, the reality, however is found in Christ." The bible explicitly states that the old covenant is OVER, the old covenant was a shadow, a fading glory of what Jesus Christ brings us. Read this: 2 Corinthians 3:7-18 7 Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses' face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end, (The bible says so, the ministry of death, that of the 10 commandments carved on letters of stone, is being brought to and end) 8 will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory? (A new ministry of the spirit will have more glory than the ministry of the 10 commandments) 9 For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory. (The ministry of the 10 commandments WAS glorious, but the new ministry of the spirit must exceed that glory.) 10 Indeed, in this case, what once had glory has come to have no glory at all, because of the glory that surpasses it. (Indeed, the old covenant of the 10 commandments HAD glory, but now they have NO glory at all, because the new covenant surpasses it.) 11 For if what was being brought to an end came with glory, much more will what is permanent have glory. (The 10 commandments were brought to an end, and YES, they were glorious, BUT the new covenant that is permanent is MORE glorious.) 12 Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, 13 not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end. 14 But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. (To this day, when they read the old covenant, their minds harden and a veil covers their understanding) 15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. 16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. (But when you turn to Jesus, that veil is removed and you will see the truth.) 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (The truth that the Lord has brought a New covenant of the spirit, and this New covenant brings freedom and not condemnation.) 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. (Therefore all us with unveiled face, behold the New covenant, the glory of the Lord which transforms us from the old covenant to the new covenant.) Galatians 4:21-26 21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman and one by a free woman. 23 But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, while the son of the free woman was born through promise. 24 Now this may be interpreted allegorically: these women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children for slavery; she is Hagar. (THE BIBLE SAYS SO, the covenant of the 10 commandments from Mount Sinai bears children to SLAVERY. That is why the old covenant brings death.) 25 Now Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children. 26 But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother. (We Christians are not slaves, we belong to the NEW Jerusalem, the FREE Jerusalem.) 28 Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29 But just as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now. (The same thing will happen now, the ones that want to follow the old covenant will persecute those who want to live under the NEW covenant. 30 But what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman shall not inherit with the son of the free woman.” (The scripture says, cast out the old covenant and their followers, for their followers shall not inherit with the sons of the New covenant) 31 So, brothers, we are not children of the slave but of the free woman. (So, brothers, we don't belong to the old covenant, we belong to the New covenant. We are not Jews, We are Christians!) Galatians 5:1-4 Christ Has Set Us Free 5 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. (DO NOT GO BACK TO THE OLD COVENANT! WE ARE CHRISTIANS AND WE FOLLOW ONLY THE NEW COVENANT.) 2 Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you. (If you circumcise, you accept the old covenant, and therefore you are obliged to keep the whole law.) 3 I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law. 4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. Christians do not circumcise, that is why we Christians only follow the New covenant brought by Jesus Christ, but if you get circumcision, then you are bound to keep the whole law, you have to obey the old covenant + the new covenant. Hi sir, i just want to open up that there is no need to influence people to be part of any branding or organization. Everyday and every moment is an act of worship unto The LORD through our thoughts and ways, it is not something done only once a week. As to the day God set apart for rest and worship alone, people can be encouraged to do it on Saturdays when their job schedule has saturday as their rest day, coz God set apart Saturday as His day. But i think of the many people who have jobs when Saturday is included as a workday, and they may have been practicing the Sabbath on a sunday not because they are subscribing to the papal decree but just coz that is the rest day given by their employers...and some, for the same reason, practice Sabbath on monday or tuesday or whatever else weekday just coz that is the time off given by their employers. I dont think there should be an issue coz ultimately, God looks at the heart of every person. Which also means that just coz someone does the Sabbath on a saturday, he/she is already a step ahead in following God's Bible than others. Again, God looks at the heart. He sees who intentionally does sabbath on other days to mock what God has declared, and He sees who does so without bad intentions as to following and honoring Him. Additionally, God also sees who does Sabbath on a Saturday but the heart is not truly unto Him. I have watched your videos and can sense that you, your wife, you both have a sincerely seeking heart unto The LORD. People with sincerely seeking heart for The True LORD could rarely be found in this world...majority only seek religion, good reputation, or do not care at all. So, i hope that you wont continue influencing people to look at an organization or what, but to look at Jesus and His Scriptures. Paul said something like, why should one say i am of apollos, and others say i am of paul...apollos and paul are not God...Jesus is The Lord not them. So paul warns against influencing people to identify with organizations or preachers, but to identify with The Lord Jesus alone, The Triune LORD alone. Please sir, i hope you reconsider this way of yours so that you could help more people be drawn to The LORD HIMSELF, and not to any organization.
I get your reasoning Mishy, and of course I agree that it is not an organisation, or paperwork, that is what saves us. But, what if God raised up a movement for a special work? ;) I can highly recommend this video where I talk about this. This is what opened my eyes to something I hadn't seen before. ua-cam.com/video/FTobEWEyD-Y/v-deo.html
Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week (Matt. 28:1-7; Mark 16:2, 9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1). Jesus appeared to the disciples on the first day of the week (John 20:19). Jesus appeared inside the room to the eleven disciples eight days after the first day of the week. The Jewish way of measuring days meant that it was again Sunday (John 20:26). The Holy Spirit came on Pentecost, the first day of the week (Lev. 23:16; Acts 2:1). The first sermon was preached by Peter on the first day of the week (Acts 2:14). Three thousand converts joined the church on the first day of the week (Acts 2:41). The three thousand were baptized on the first day of the week (Acts 2:41). The Christians assembled broke bread on the first day of the week. The Christians also heard a message from Paul on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7). Note: the reference is until midnight which is not the Jewish method of measuring days, but the Roman system. Paul instructed the churches to put aside contributions on the first day of the week (1 Cor. 16:2). Jesus gave the apostle John the vision of Revelation on the first day of the week (Rev. 1:10).
Even if all this would be true (which it isn't, but for the sake of argument, let's say it is), but where does it say 'thus saith the Lord, I have changed the holy day that I have set apart from the beginning of creation, from Saturday to Sunday'? I know this list of verses very well, as I have used it myself to try to disprove the Saturday Sabbath. But I realized that I was reading my preconceived notions into the texts, and found these verses to back up my ideas (church on Sunday). None of these verses say that the holy day of God has been changed. There is no such verse. And many of the verses of the list are taken completely out of context, and put in such a way as if it would have any relevance to Sabbath keeping. I think you will find our three guides on the Sabbath very interesting and eye-opening. You find them under 'beginner guides' in the black box, on thechristianlife.com/read

The first time we could be born again to a living hope was on a Sunday: 1 Pet. 1:3 The first time Jesus had communion after his resurrection with His disciples, was on a Sunday: (Lk. 24:1, 13, 28-35) Pentecost was a Sunday - Sunday duration of 50 days. The starting point and stopping point of counting the 50 days was a Sunday
Because they meet on the 1st day of the week read it its in the new testament. They probably did this because most believers then were Jewish. They were still keeping the Sabbath meeting at the temple's struggling between keeping the law and not looking to Jesus as thier rest their Sabbath. So the church's meet from house to house on the 1st day of the week. Remember when Peter and John preached in the temple they were beaten and warned not to teach in Jesus name , then beaten. Lets not be under the law or worry about the lost worship. Rather lets preach the gospel. Everyday is the Lord's, dont let anyone judge you in days an foods.
Hi Mark, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I think I have something that you will find very interesting. We have written three guides on this topic, each approaching it from a different angle. Go to, thechristianlife.com/read and under guides (see black box) you can read them.
Oh my goodness so much false teaching. Worship, fellowship, read, pray everyday. The Holy Spirit now resides on the thorn of the believers life. Be directed by Him, do not quench Him, work when He says work rest when He says rest. Dont let anyone judge you in the keeping of Sabbath or regarding of days, eating of foods. Read and remember I Corinthians 13. Ask God to fulfill it in your life. Hebrews 12, Isaiah 58. And so much more. Dont let men put weights on you you are no longer under the law but are the bride of Christ Romans 3. And 7. You are now in the potters hands he will make of you what he desires, love one another and your light will shine. Love the Lord your God. It is only He that can accomplish this in your life not the keeping of rules or laws.
@@silentmajority5657 So are you saying Jesus willfully broke the Sabbath commandment because He understood it? He not only healed on the Sabbath but instructed people to do 'work' as a result.
Praise God for your desire to share God's word which is truth. I also came to the realization that the 7th day Sabbath day is on Saturdays meant for rest in God's love knowing that he created us and this world in 6 days then rested on the 7th day. It is very sad how so many people reject the truth choosing tradition instead. God bless your family and ministry. Maranatha, Jesus is coming soon!
Amen! God is so gracious, and we are grateful that you have discovered the beautiful Sabbath truth. Yes, it can be very hard to look past tradition sometimes. We appreciate your support, and indeed, our King is coming soon!

I want to ask you what about the trinity??? Often everybody uses " In the name of God the father, his son Jesus and the Holy Spirit' what the bible says about this
@Lily Doreen The Bible does not use the word trinity, but Godhead (that is why I personally prefer "Godhead" over "Trinity"). The Bible teaches that the Godhead, the being of God, consists out of three persons (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). They are three, yet one. Something we human being cannot fully grasp, which makes sense, because we are not God.. Part of the reason why Christians say the phrase that you wrote, is because Jesus told us to do so in the great comissioon (Matthew 28:19-20). Hope this helps you ;) Blessings sister!
1 John 5:7 New King James Version (NKJV) 7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one." The father, the word (Jesus, the son), and the Holly spirit. And these three are ONE. That is why they are called the trinity, that is why they are called "in the name of the Father, the Son, and the holly spirit." That is why Jesus himself said to His disciples this: Matthew 28:19 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"
@@Scientist_Albert_Einstein The idea of the trinity is all through scripture but using that verse is problematic. There is a ton of evidence that is not the original text in I John. Sorry the evidence isn't there but it isn't. I have had to come to grips with that myself and it is difficult. Just to be clear I believe 100% in the Godhead / Trinity.
I feel sorry for the poor misguided fellow. He gave a history lesson which is totally unimportant to salvation. It is also misinterpreted. The Sabbath was given as a day of rest not for "Church service". Let's stop being distracted and focus on the commands Jesus considered the most important: love God with all your heart, soul and mind and love your neighbour as yourself. If the keeping of the Sabbath was so important why did Jesus do so many things on the Sabbath that was contrary to Jewish law?
Jesus did not violate the Sabbath commandment. It was the Jews who had perverted the commandment to appear more holy. Here is what Jesus said about the Pharisees: " But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Jesus showed how we can actually keep the Sabbath. He said "17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.(Matthew 5:17-18)" Jesus came to fulfill the Law. If he had broken the commandment, he would not be a propitiation for our sins. If Christ broke the commandment, then is Christ a sinner. And if Christ is a sinner, he did not rise, our Faith is in vain, and we are all sinners. As it is written "18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:(1 Peter 18-19)" "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."(1 Corinthians 5:21) Praise God that Christ is sinless, he is risen. The Bible also reveals that Christ is our Creator: "15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. (See Matthew 12:8) If Christ is our creator and the one who rested on Sabbath and gave the Sabbath, would he not know how to spend the Sabbath properly than the Pharisees who observed it in forms?
Jesus is no longer concerned with dates of celebration for we can worship God anytime and anywhere. But we should not give up fellowshipping or meeting with fellow believers because it is good for the spiritual and physical health of the church. Offerings are given such that it does not appear like an extortion. The church should plan an appropriate time or day of corporate worship for the benefit of the many. Avoid legalistic religion...
7th day might have the sabbath worship right but they are wrong about so much else. I am not going to an apostate church because they get one thing right. Sorry.

In the old testament at the time of Mosses and Abraham and Jacob! The calanders we're solar and that how the PREISTS and elders measure time to know when feats days were holy days are passover Feast of weeks. Pentecost today and the day of atonement when the head priest had two he goat's one for the PREISTS to obsolve their sins and the other one called the scapegoat for the people which held all of the members sins for that year before! And a PREIST or levy lead that goat into the wilderness far enough so it couldn't find it way back and bringing back the old sins back into the campground! Another about the calendar was when the scribides writing the word of GOD through out 10! Or 12 days ! So who knows what Saturday is or Sunday or any other day it was !; Then around. The 1200 to 1400 time period the modern calanders we use today came into being! As for having a worship service on Sunday or Saturday or any other day! You did well bro. by obeying the Bible. You go to church on saturdays. Well done friend. When you follow and practice the following Bible verses, I hope you will definitely enter the Heaven(paradise): Matthew 12:31-32 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Romans 14: 5 One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.6 He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.7 For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone.8 If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
Was it the catchy title, or the finger pointing in the thumbnail? ;P Even though you are not religious, I hope the video was still able to add some value to your life in any way. I'm at least glad that you clicked, so I could meet you here! Have an awesome day!
@@kristoffersparegodt420 Makes sense :) You're right that it affects a lot of people what we -Christians- teach. Unfortunately, God has been so misrepresented throughout the ages (for example teachings like God burning people in hell forever -which is not Biblical) so that "the Christian impact" on the world has not always been positive. What makes you not interested in being part of any religion? Is it the picture of God you have, or more scientific based, or something else?
There was no church in the Old Testament. There was a temple. There they performed animal sacrifices and read from the Torah. I agree that the Saturday vs Sunday debate is interesting and difficult but calling what Jesus did going to Church is completely contradictory Sorry.
Is.28:12,13.Matt.5:17 ; 11:28 ; 12:8 . Lk.6:5. Jn4:24. Col.2:16,17. Heb.4:3,8,9,10. Sabbath is made for man and not otherwise. It is entering into God's sabbath rest as He ceased from His works of creation. It is neither saturday or sunday , which are man's days, earthly ?!. The Lord's day is coming !. Our Lord Jesus is That Rest! It is the in- filling of the HS ! ! !, as was in the day of Pentecost. So, my bros and sis , the pentecost experience is also the seal of God ( Eph.1:13,14 ; 4:30. 1Cor12:13. 2Cor.1:22 ; 5:5.).
They threw us out of the synagogues, but on Sundays we had the Lord's supper, that became our holy day of the week. What ever day you choose keep it holy.
My goodness the apostles after Jesus's death would have gone to the temple on Saturday. They were still Jews.... This debate went on for years whether Jews still needed to follow the law when they became Christians. They were obviously meeting on Sunday behind closed doors because Jesus had just been killed. They did meet on the 1st day of the week. I dont think this means we should meet on Sunday but it doesn't mean we should meet on Saturday either. Your logical thinking is just terrible. Sorry brother.
▸ Keeping the sabbath was part of the law that Christ took away. “He . . . canceled out the certificate of death consisting of decrees against us . . .; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day-things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ” (Colossians 2:14-17). Christians are no more obligated to keep the sabbath than the other Old Testament festivals or its food and drink regulations! In fact, we are warned against going back to the Law to justify our practices. To do so severs us from Christ (Galatians 5:1-4). ▸ Death was the God-given penalty for not keeping the sabbath. “Therefore you are to observe the sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, holy to the Lord; whoever does any work on the sabbath day shall surely be put to death” (Exodus 31:14-15). If, as some suggest, we should still keep the sabbath because of what is said in these Old Testament references, should we enforce the penalty that these same references require? Let us be content to leave the Sabbath where God put it, part of His ancient covenant with the nation of Israel, a covenant that has been replaced by the gospel of Christ.
Is your hair tied up in the back? Doesn't the bible say if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him? You see, that's just another example of your salad-bar religion. You are willing to keep the sabbath (even though you really don't), but you are disobedient when it comes to your long hair. Would you care to try and justify that?
No my brother, you are getting all wrong. What you are doing is still living under the Law. Jesus is our Sabbath rest matthew 11: 28 to 30. Amp. Remeber the Bible says let no one judge you on what you eat or drink or any day of the week..... or even on the Sabbath. As you see Jesus is our Sabbath rest and it is when He chooses now not old testament law which God has replaced with the new covenant Heb. 8: 7 to 13 and this is God not you or I we are talking about. So to refute the grace which God has offered through His son which is rest in the knowledge that you are loved, accepted, nurtured, righteous in the eyes of the father because He sent the Son for our sake Colo: 2 : 16. So No religious observances or festivals or Sabbath day is to be a stumbling block for any Jesus follower. If you need rules to observe to feel safe with God, that is very unfortunate but to accept the free gift of grace to act as Jesus did is real life and real peace. And remember the Church is not a building but Us
Hi dear Tyna, thank you for writing down and sharing your thoughts. We have used every single one of those verses and reasoning to disprove the Sabbath too (we have not always been Sabbath-keepers). However, when studying these verses and their context deeper we found that they were not saying what we claimed they did. They are very misunderstood in today's Christianity. We mention them in our blog-post: thechristianlife.com/is-the-sabbath-done-away-with/ Also we can recommend watching our video about if the law is done away with: ua-cam.com/video/FnTSf2qDPPo/v-deo.html Please do share your thoughts with us about that blogpost and video ;)
Tyna Anyim so now you’re ABOVE the law. You can do anything. You can worship idol, you can kill your parents, you can commit adultery, you can lie, because you’re ABOVE those laws. Wow, it must really good to be you. Even Jesus Him self still obeying the law.
Jesus Christ is the sabbath. The point of the sabbath day under the old covenant was to rest from physical labor. The new covenant is spiritual. So we rest from the labor of trying to keep the law. And that rest is in Jesus and his atonement on the cross. The book of Hebrews explains that we enter into gods rest through Christ. In Paul’s letter to the Galatians chapter 4. The church was observing days and being “religious” and he said he felt like they didn’t understand his teaching. We are not bound to ordinances and days. We are free in Christ. The apostle Paul constantly expresses our freedom in his epistles. Freedoms from Laws and ordinances. He also stated that if the old covenant could have given salvation then there wouldn’t be a need for a new one. When you try drag old covenant law into new covenant salvation, then you are diminishing Christ’s complete work.
John O'Barr but show me the exact verse where Paul told the church it is okay to change Sabbath day to Sunday because we no longer under the law. Sabbath -> Sunday. Exact verse please, not assumption verse. While Jesus on earth, He always go to synagogue every Sabbath. Acts 17:2 Paul’s custom is to synagogue on Sabbath.
@@j4nd1t0 The Sabbath wasn't moved from Saturday to Sunday, the Sabbath was fulfilled in Christ. There is no sabbath day. The new Testament is clear on the types of sin that will not inherit the kingdom of Heaven, breaking the Sabbath is not mentioned as one of them. Why? Paul often went into the synogogue on the Sabbath because that is where jews were and he could share the Gospel. No where does the Bible say that Paul or anyone else kept the Sabbath in the new Testament. In Acts 20:7 Paul preached on Sunday after they shared a meal. He never said Sunday was a Sabbath or Monday or any other day. If someone wants to observe a Sabbath day as part of their worship to God then no doubt God would honor that, but its not a commandment for the new testament church. Romans Chapter 4 is very clear that our justification comes by faith alone. We are the spiritual seed of Abraham and Abraham was justified by faith before the Law was given. The law was carnal and driven from the outside by fear of punishment, Salvation is spiritual and is driven from the inside by the holy spirit out of gratitude for forgiveness. Colossians 3:1-4 is one of the most powerful statements in the New testament of where we stand. We are dead and hid in Christ, He is all in all, the end of the law to everyone that believes in Him. Paul addresses this at great length in the Book of Romans, Verse after verse. All of our righteousness is Jesus Christ. Keeping laws or sabbaths or anything else we could possibly do is filthy rags in the Sight of God. Thats why when Jesus said if I set you free your free indeed. Free from the law of sin and death as Paul states. We as Christians can only claim the righteousness of Christ for salvation. It's all we have and all that God will accept. God Bless!
John O'Barr John O'Barr give me the verse saying exactly the Jesus fulfilled sabbath. You’re making up stories. Come on. Also according to you new testament NO MORE LAW. But contradict with 1 John 3:4 : Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. What law? Gravity law? Physics law? Also, if law no longer exists or we all already above the law, then can i kill you, or can i steal your spouse, can i lie to you? We already above the law anyway. It’s all about grace. God will accept us anyway. He is a loving Father. Hope we can find better understanding. Im still learning too. God bless
@@j4nd1t0 I really appreciate your zeal for finding truth and I want you to know that my reply is founded in love. I will give you some background on where I come from. I was not raised in church and knew very little about God, Jesus, or the Bible. By the time I was in my early twenties, I was angry at the world, living in complete darkness. On a very troubled road and spiraling downward. One day, when I was 25 years old, I was mowing my yard, and God came to me. I really didn't understand anything, but I knew that I needed to seek Him. So I walked into my house and told my wife that I wanted to go to Church. Her uncle was a pastor at a Baptist Church and she said we could go there. I'm not sure how many times I went, and I have no idea what was said or what any of it even meant. On one of the days that we went, the pastor asked if anyone would like to invite Jesus into their heart then they could come down front and the Church would pray with them. For whatever reason I stood up, and walked into the isle. I never made it to the altar, I collapsed in the floor crying uncontrollably. I am pretty sure I never prayed a single word at that moment, but there's no doubt that Jesus saved me that day and came into my heart. So that was the beginning of my journey with HIm. He had gifted me with and incredible memory despite the years of drug abuse and drinking. Actually it was only by his grace that I had lived that long. So i began to live in His word, i felt so blessed to study with no previous teaching and that i had no preconceived ideas, right or wrong, to overcome. After about 15 years of study, I came across a website. It was from a splinter group of the Worldwide Church of God. They were all about keeping the Old Testament Holy days, observing the Sabbath, and abstaining from unclean meats listed in Leviticus. On the surface it all looked so tangible, I thought wow, finally! I have found the truth! So I left the false teaching of Protestantism and became one of the CHOSEN. I was in that church for 5 years. during that time the only sermons i ever heard were about the Sabbath and the holy days, and how the people who didn't observe them were in darkness and didn't know God. Never once did I ever hear about Jesus, or Salvation, or anyone ever being asked to accept Christ in any way. I found myself hating Christianity. I left the church and nearly renonced my faith altogether. Several years ago, I repented and prayed and started reading again. I can see now why Paul said those who are under the Law are under a curse. Grace is not lawlessness my friend, Grace is the free gift of God of forgiveness that can't be earned. It is the gift of the Holy Spirit that dwells with his children that compels us to love God and our brother is such a way, that we don't sin against them. Our flesh is not saved and is going back to the dust, but if you keep reading in 1 John chapter 3, you will come to verse 9. whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him;and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. If you can ever wrap your mind around that you will truly be free. Salvation is not physical or carnal, it is spiritual. Grace is superior to the law because it is driven by Love. When you have the love of Jesus living inside you, there is no need for ordinances. You love God and your brother with all your heart, Paul stated "against such there in no law". I hope this helps. I am not saying we are lawless, I am saying the love of Jesus that dwells in us is far superior to any and all law. God Bless!
@Messerah The Bible counters much of what Ellen G. White taught and what her church teaches today. In the matter of the sabbath, the New Testament clearly shows Christians worshiping together on Sunday rather than Saturday. Not only that, but Romans 14 teaches that each person must be convinced in his own mind about the day they observe as the Lord’s Day; if the sabbath was binding on all Christians today, this passage would be meaningless. In contrast to White’s teaching on the eternal destiny of those who do not know the Lord, the Bible teaches that hell is real, that it is eternal, and that in hell God’s wrath is poured out in conscious, everlasting punishment. John the Baptist spoke of Jesus, saying, “His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire” (Matthew 3:12). Jesus himself spoke of hell saying, “if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire” and “these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life” (Mark 9:43, Matthew 25:46). And in the epistles, Paul warned, “They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might” (2 Thessalonians 1:9). Only by deliberately twisting the Scriptures can anyone deny the terrifying reality that hell is real and that those who do not know the Lord will be there to face his wrath forever. The SDA Church prophesied that Jesus would return in March of 1844. Obviously he did not, so what you have is false prophets spawning more false prophets. Herbert W Armstrong was influenced by these false teachings and successfully led 100's of thousands of people astray for monetary gain. Its only in love that I respond to these claims, I will not reply any longer. I do not attend church on any day of the week, modern churches have strayed way to far from God's word, and I cannot conscientiously attend them any longer. I think the whole problem, and the cause for so much confusion is that we have to many people who are deceived, either by themselves, or by organizations, into believing that they are saved but do not have the Holy Spirit, and do not understand God's Word. If anyone thinks that observing laws, or sabbaths, or rituals is bringing them salvation, then they will be greatly disappointed in the day of judgement.
This video is so wrong. ‘Sabbath’ means ‘rest’. It doesn’t mean Saturday. Sunday, is a day of rest. Church, as Christians is important and is a pillar for our faith. Teaching that Christians shouldn’t go to church is very wrong.
Hi Gilda! We just want to reassure you that we too believe that Christians should gather together at church (Hebrews 10:25). But this video is about if the Bible teaches that we should do that on Sunday or not. Tradition has taught that Sunday is a rest-day, but as we discuss in the video, that is not what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that the Saturday is the rest-day. This cannot be changed to another day, not even Sunday, because God Himself "rested" on THE (not 'a' but 'the') seventh day (Genesis 2:2). This is the Saturday, as the first day of the week is Sunday. And we are to rest on that same day (THE seventh day, Saturday), remembering our Creator (Exodus 20:8-11). We understand your reaction, but we want to encourage you to see for yourself if the Sunday is tradition or Biblical. We also recommend the two blog-posts in the description about where the Sabbath comes from, what it means, and a whole lot more Bible verses on this topic ;) May God bless you. If you have any questions or so, please feel free to get in touch with us :)
Interesting comment! For me, the Bible is the only pillar of my faith and I have searched from binder to binder in the Bible but not found any text that supports the theory that God have changed his day of rest to sunday. If anyone can prove it from the Bible, I am prepared to celebrate sunday as a holy day! :-)
you are the only few that i have seen that defend going to a church building on sunday and saying its a requirement for christians. i have wrote tons of letter to people and guess what i dont hear a response from them OK you defense is # 1 "its a pilar" and #2 "it wrong" so based on this im sure everyone gong to read this and say wow that the evidence i need ok i will start going to church then and churches will turn into megachurches now because of your evidence # 1 churches are pillars and #2 its wrong - so maybe soon in future # 3 will be "go to church or go to hell"
GILDA ONLINE if you’re truly following Jesus, don’t be hard hearted. Yes sabbath means rest. Don’t stop there. God rest on the seventh day and sanctify that day so His creation can worship Him on that say. Unfortunately the seventh day fells on Saturday, not Sunday. You can rest on Sunday, Monday, any day. But true Christian sabbath worship is supposedly is the seventh day (Saturday). We all learning.
@@thechristianlife The Sabbath wasn't moved from Saturday to Sunday, the Sabbath was fulfilled in Christ. God Bless!
The Sabbath was also a day of coming together. In the beginning of Leviticus chapter 23 it is written that the people will have a holy gathering.
They hated Jesus for healing on the Sabbath. God works on the Sabbath ( the Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath).
One of my collegues told me that. And from then on i always go to the church on saturdays.
Praise God for your faithful colleague and your willingness to follow God :)

I couldn't find the right woman that would treat me right,Well the whole church can kiss my ass.
@@brianeastman3547 That is sad my brother but remember God gives us what we need, not what we want. I too longed for love only to find that God is the first and only love that is needed. I learnt that saturday in Spanish is sabado, sounds like the Sabbath to me.
However the vast majority of the Church continued to observe the sabbath at least upto Constantine
Constantine approved Sunday worship
The Roman Catholic Church affirmed Sunday. But most of the church ignored this.
The great schism of the Roman and Eastern church int he second millennium was over sabbath worship.
The Catholic Church continues to claim that it changed to Sunday on its own authority
In fact most major Protestant denominations also affirm this
Pray without ceasing and Jesus is himself the High Priest which means everyday is the day of the Lord;and only thing is together with others in somewhen
Yes what he is saying is true but I frankly don't think it really matters. It's focusing on what we DO and we can't earn righteousness by our actions.

If someone is a seventh day adeventist. Is it wrong to attend church service on sunday just to go support a friend who invites you??
When God puts it on your heart, do what God calls you to do ;) I have attended several Sunday services after I became an Adventist, for different reasons I believe God impressed me with.
What if you can't find a church for Saturday? ???????
Hi Linda, thank you for asking that important and good question. Where abouts do you live? We can recommend to at least to keep the Sabbath in your home. Perhaps that can even grow into a house church ;) There are a lot of churches that broadcast their services online. You can see if you can join them online, and maybe gather others around you on the Sabbath that want to join in too. One if the ministries I can highly recommend is Amazing Facts (they broadcast their services every week).
@@thechristianlife I know about amazing. Facts .,my understanding is you have to fellowship with people. .in church?
@@lindamartin4265 it is true that the Bible tells us to do gather together (Leviticus 23:3). So we would advice to join a local church, or if there is none in the area to start gathering together with others who want to keep the Sabbath day holy. Do you have a local church in your area?
Maybe there’s a Seventh-day Adventist Church close to you! :) They worship on Saturday and are the same as most churches when it comes to doctrines
You also seemed to have missed a day is defined in Scripture as an evening followed by morning.
Is it more likely that Paul preached on the first day until midnight (ie preached from sundown till midnight or later) or did he preach for many more hours the following day
If something is mentioned twice in scripture is is considered important. If mentioned three times is considered very important. But apparently when God mentions it SIX times the church suddenly doesn’t know what it means
Good video
We do however use the oportunity for outreach to non-believers since thats one of the few times here in seculair scandinavia when tou can talk easier with people about Jesus and they are okey with you doing that :P
For us we have found the avdntist church to be the one that bases their doctrines on the Word of God most of all churches - does that mean peopoe are perfect?

How about rest on Sabbath and worship on Sunday?
Constantine (325 AD) DID NOT change the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday as Sabbath keepers falsely teach.

In Genesis 2:1-3, we learn that the God who created the world also rested on the seventh day, blessed it, and made it holy.
19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross." (Colossians 1:15-20)
"All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made." (John 1:3)
Hebrews 1:8-10:
"8 But of the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has anointed you
with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.”
10 And,
“You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning,
and the heavens are the work of your hands;"
These verses reveal that God the Father created everything in existence through His Son Jesus Christ. We can conclude it was Jesus who rested on the seventh day, blessed it, and sanctified it. Jesus himself claimed to be the Lord of the Sabbath. (See Matthew 12:8)
Let us now look into the Three Angels Message. The First Angel with the everlasting gospel to proclaim to everyone on earth. He said with a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water." (Revelation 14:6-7)
The message reminds us to worship the one who made heaven and earth. We can also see the reminder that the Lord is the creator of heaven and earth in the Fourth commandment.
"For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy." (Exodus 20:11)
Exodus 20:11 is part of the Fourth Commandment.
"16 Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever. 17 It is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed." ( Exodus 31:16-17)
The verse above shows that it is a covenant between God and us. It is also reminding us that He is the creator. Why is this being pointed out?
"and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness." Ephesians 4:24)
"26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules." (Ezekiel 36:26-27)
Redemption is creation as he is creating us in His likeness. In faith, we believe He will do what he promised.
Let us now take a brief look into the rest of the Third Angels message.
The second Angels message talks about the fall of Babylon. (Revelation 14:8)(Revelation 18)
The Third Angels message warns us not to worship the beast and its image. (Revelation 14:9-11)
If we look into the book of Daniel, there was an issue of worship in Babylon because of the golden Image that Nebuchadnezzar has set up(See Daniel 3). In Revelation 18, God is calling his people out of Babylon.
What does the Lord say about the Sabbath?
“This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Tomorrow is a day of solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord;" (Exodus 16:23)
"but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God." (Deuteronomy 5:14)
"and keep my Sabbaths holy that they may be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God." (Ezekiel 20:20)
We can reckon from these verses that the Sabbath belongs to the Lord. It is a sign between us that we acknowledge that He is our God.
" 12 Moreover, I gave them my Sabbaths, as a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them." (Ezekiel 20:12)
"13 “You are to speak to the people of Israel and say, ‘Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you." (Exodus 31:13)
Again the Lord points out that it is His sabbath.
"For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified." (Hebrews 10:14)
From the verse above, we can conclude that Sabbath is the sign of sanctification for people throughout time.
What does Paul in his epistle says about the rest that God calls his rest?
Hebrews 4:1-11 says:
1 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it.
4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” 5 And again in this passage he said, “They shall not enter my rest.”
6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on.
"If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holyday; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable; and shalt honor him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord." (Isaiah 58:13, 14)
'And they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”-so that they might accuse him. 11 He said to them, “Which one of you who has a sheep, if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out? 12 Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”'(Matthew 12:10-12)
Sabbath is a memorial of creation. We can delight in the Lord by meditating on his nature to be reminded of His power and promise. We can remember that the power that made this world and sanctified it is the one who sanctifies us. By faith, we enter into his rest confident that he who started his work in us would complete it by the day of the Lord.(Philippians 1:6)
As Paul said, "Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience." (Hebrews 4:11)
We should all in faith strive into entering into his rest. :)

@@anishbajagain1705 Christ’s death on Calvary ended the Law of Moses which included the Ten Commandments. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives.” These commandments were nailed to Calvary’s cross. @@thechristianlife I support the view that the Lord's day is the 7th day of the week (Saturday).
John 20:26-29
Pentecost happened on the first day of the week!
You are sadly mistaken about the Sabbath. God's Commandments are Binding and will never change.
Colossians 2:16-17 "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ."
Jesus Christ came down to earth to give us a NEW COVENANT.
But then I studied the verse and saw what it really meant. We actually have a video exactly about that passage. I am sure you'll find it interesting. ua-cam.com/video/FnTSf2qDPPo/v-deo.html
Read this: 2 Corinthians 3:7-18
7 Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses' face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end,
(The bible says so, the ministry of death, that of the 10 commandments carved on letters of stone, is being brought to and end)
8 will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory?
(A new ministry of the spirit will have more glory than the ministry of the 10 commandments)
9 For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory.
(The ministry of the 10 commandments WAS glorious, but the new ministry of the spirit must exceed that glory.)
10 Indeed, in this case, what once had glory has come to have no glory at all, because of the glory that surpasses it.
(Indeed, the old covenant of the 10 commandments HAD glory, but now they have NO glory at all, because the new covenant surpasses it.)
11 For if what was being brought to an end came with glory, much more will what is permanent have glory.
(The 10 commandments were brought to an end, and YES, they were glorious, BUT the new covenant that is permanent is MORE glorious.)
12 Since we have such a hope, we are very bold,
13 not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end.
14 But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away.
(To this day, when they read the old covenant, their minds harden and a veil covers their understanding)
15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts.
16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.
(But when you turn to Jesus, that veil is removed and you will see the truth.)
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
(The truth that the Lord has brought a New covenant of the spirit, and this New covenant brings freedom and not condemnation.)
18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
(Therefore all us with unveiled face, behold the New covenant, the glory of the Lord which transforms us from the old covenant to the new covenant.)
Galatians 4:21-26
21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law?
22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman and one by a free woman. 23 But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, while the son of the free woman was born through promise. 24 Now this may be interpreted allegorically: these women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children for slavery; she is Hagar.
(THE BIBLE SAYS SO, the covenant of the 10 commandments from Mount Sinai bears children to SLAVERY. That is why the old covenant brings death.)
25 Now Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.
26 But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.
(We Christians are not slaves, we belong to the NEW Jerusalem, the FREE Jerusalem.)
28 Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
29 But just as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.
(The same thing will happen now, the ones that want to follow the old covenant will persecute those who want to live under the NEW covenant.
30 But what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman shall not inherit with the son of the free woman.”
(The scripture says, cast out the old covenant and their followers, for their followers shall not inherit with the sons of the New covenant)
31 So, brothers, we are not children of the slave but of the free woman.
(So, brothers, we don't belong to the old covenant, we belong to the New covenant. We are not Jews, We are Christians!)
Galatians 5:1-4
Christ Has Set Us Free
5 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
(DO NOT GO BACK TO THE OLD COVENANT! WE ARE CHRISTIANS AND WE FOLLOW ONLY THE NEW COVENANT.)
2 Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you.
(If you circumcise, you accept the old covenant, and therefore you are obliged to keep the whole law.)
3 I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law.

The Jewish way of measuring days meant that it was again Sunday
(John 20:26).
Paul instructed the churches to put aside contributions on the first day of the week
(1 Cor. 16:2).
Jesus gave the apostle John the vision of Revelation on the first day of the week
(Rev.

What is his commandment ? To believe on him, Jesus, who was sent. Read it its in the new testament.
In Mathew 19:17-19 when Jesus listed the commandments to the young man there's no mention of keeping the Sabbath
That's because the Sabbath was understood back then. So why would He tell the young man something he already knew. God's Commandments are Binding.

1 John 5:7 New King James Version (NKJV)
7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one."
The father, the word (Jesus, the son), and the Holly spirit.
And these three are ONE. That is why they are called the trinity, that is why they are called "in the name of the Father, the Son, and the holly spirit."
That is why Jesus himself said to His disciples this: Matthew 28:19
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"
Here is what Jesus said about the Pharisees: " But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
Jesus showed how we can actually keep the Sabbath. He said "17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.(Matthew 5:17-18)"
Jesus came to fulfill the Law. If he had broken the commandment, he would not be a propitiation for our sins. If Christ broke the commandment, then is Christ a sinner. And if Christ is a sinner, he did not rise, our Faith is in vain, and we are all sinners.
As it is written "18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:(1 Peter 18-19)"
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."(1 Corinthians 5:21)
Praise God that Christ is sinless, he is risen.
The Bible also reveals that Christ is our Creator:
"15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by[f] him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has anointed you
with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.”
10 And,
“You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning,
and the heavens are the work of your hands;"
These verses reveal that God the Father created everything in existence through His Son Jesus Christ. We can conclude it was Jesus who rested on the seventh day, blessed it, and sanctified it. Jesus himself claimed to be the Lord of the Sabbath.
Sorry.
Very well taught my brother, powerful. I pray that our LORD continues to use you in a mighty way and bless your ministry.

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
They threw us out of the synagogues, but on Sundays we had the Lord's supper, that became our holy day of the week. What ever day you choose keep it holy.
You speak heresies instead of preaching the Gospel.
Because he just picks and chooses
We mention them in our blog-post: thechristianlife.com/is-the-sabbath-done-away-with/

Whatever
