    Nothing wrong with this video, I just don't get the obsession with seeing if and how fast a laser can cut through thick wood. I think the real test is how ACCURATE / CLEAN of a cut and how FAST of a cut you get with the different laser modules on realistic thicknesses of wood people who buy these types of laser use. You should do comparisons on 1/16", 1/8" and 1/4" wood and some applicable color acrylics. You should also compare the KERF on these lasers for detailed cuts used for earrings and other detailed jewelry/items.

      people are always asking, so, now they have a better idea. cutting 1in wood isnt something i would do but once in a lasers lifetime in reality. :)

      Would still be nice to see how the 30W performs on the above wood, acrylic and kerf I mentioned. Thanks! @@LSEngraving

      As always, learn a lot from your videos. I’m hoping you will do an in depth video on the accuracy and quality of engraving between the 30/10 and 20/10. I have the chart showing the different beam width size for 10/30/30 watt but real world examples would be very helpful.

    What a great design to have a modular source like that. Thank you for sharing the process and examples. I have some 3/4” burled walnut I have been wanting to make a project with, but have been dreading the mess my CNC router would leave behind after cutting it. This would be a good alternative.

    wow ! This is exactly what I needed to know. I have the Lasermatic 10 which I upgraded to the 20 watt. Mostly cutting 1/4 Baltic birch, but wondered if the 30 watt would be useful for 1/2 inch or 5/8 material which I think you just proved out.. I guess I will need to make room for another machine. Most of my work is cutting and not so much engraving. However I can dedicate the 20 watt machine for engrave and the 30 watt for all the cutting I do. Thanks for the vid, I guess I had better sub for more of your content ! ;-) Cheers...

      one thing to consider is just swapping laser modules if space or $$$ is a concern.

    Thank you for making the video, most of the stuff I will be cutting is 5mm, but I want to prototype some stuff made from 3/8 to 1/2" and test the waters. Then if those products work out, I do not know what laser I will need to upgrade to. I'm trying to hold off on jumping into a co2 laser. Until I really need it. Just because of the size and water cooling part of it. We recently purchased a 50 watt fiber laser for black marking thousands of SS pcp air fittings. Now I need another machine to cut out the12" round part holding jigs for the vertical rotary LOL.

    • @LSEngraving

      i'd much rather use the lasermatic than the co2 and i have a 600x1000 here.

    I just ordered this engraver I'm really looking forward to using it, I returned another from another brand because it had 0 safety features and no real exhaust, I would be cautious about engraving knives because the heat could ruin the temper of the knife. It looks cool if.its a for decoration only blade.

    So, you would say the extra expense is worth it? I don't cut really thick stuff but would like to cut 1/4" faster than my 10w does. I believe there is about a $300 difference between the 20 and 30.

    • @LSEngraving
      @LSEngraving  6 місяців тому +1

      i would say yes. I'd rather have the power and not need it than not have it at all, and you still have the 10w mode for beautiful engravings

    I think you should clean your 20W, it is way weaker than mine. You really don't buy a 20W for cutting thick wood/material. 1/4" wood engraving would show little difference between to two with the 20W having a slightly finer dot size. Cool video though for entertainment.
