      To help with your rotary table if its the same as a metal lathe chuck which it sure looks identical you can turn the chucks teeth out and flip them around to hold much larger items, it will bring your jaws in more then enough to clear your workpiece. Hope this helps ya, it sure is easier then playing around with the software. Make sure you put the jaws in the same spots as they are made in pairs do its important they stay in the same slots.

    I think there should be a warning label on the rotor that tells you to lift the laser. People like me forget these major steps. When I get mine I will definitely make one. Also reminder to disable the laser when done in Lightburn.

    HappyThanksgiving everyone. Rich I am glad I do not need to figure all of this out by myself. BTW, I ordered the 30 watt yesterday with the rotary. Hope to have great news on the 23rd.

    Rich thanks again for your videos always a big help, I always learn something. Personally I use "Current Position" to avoid homing and then drive the laser head from a rear parked position to where I want the start position to be before starting the burn. But I only use the chuck rotary for oddball shaped objects. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

      Thanks for sharing Terry! I only use absolute coordinates for exact precision work, except on the rotary.

      I have no need for the camera Ronnie, since I work in absolute coordinates, and the LaserMATIC has a precision honeycomb. I am however, going to do a camera video when I get some time with tips for perfect accuracy and tips you've never seen before, not even from the Lightburn staff.

    Happy Thanksgiving Rich!! I am thankful for all your videos and all that I have learned from you.
    Now on to questions:
    Can the jaws be used in expansion (inside the wine glass) as well as compression (outside)?
    Do the jewelers' jaws come with the chuck?
    Many years ago, you did a video on rotaries where you calculated the circumference and drew a rectangle of that height, you then burned the rectangle on a sacrificial piece and compared the top and bottom lines to verify they were collinear. If not, you adjusted one of the parameters on the rotary setup window. Does this have to be done with the Lasermatic?

    After homing, then jogging to the job position with LightBurn button, how can you make sure that you don't manually move the gantry when focusing?

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  4 місяці тому

      Focus first, then home and move.

      I thought that you have to have the module all the way up to miss the chuck rotary when you home it, then send it to the work position, and lastly set the focus height.

    Home in the opposite corner?

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  8 місяців тому

      Home on this laser is the front left. Home positions vary by manufacturer and can be in any corner.

    • @blah_z
      @blah_z 8 місяців тому +1

      Pity, I was only thinking o putting the limit switches on the far right corner but using a value of x = machine width, y = 0@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  8 місяців тому

      This machine already has them. But if you're adding them to another laser, the far right corner would be x = machine width, y = machine height

    As a CNC sort of guy can I order a Chuck Head in two (2) or in tour (4) or even (6) jaw??...PS. LaserMATIC Mk2, (30Watt) on order due to ship.after Dec. 1to10 Batch 6.... Wish you and yours a happy THANKSGIVING wish Leo the same🦃 Bill🦜

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  8 місяців тому

      No, most diode chuck rollers only have three extension bars. The head is removable, but I have no idea where you would find one this small Bill. Gobble gobble, and congrats on the Mark 2! You're going to love it!
