  • In this video I share some tips and tricks for cutting veg tan leather and cork fabric on the Cricut Maker using the Knife Blade and Rotary Cutter, respectively. The Cricut Maker is a great tool for cutting out your pieces with great accuracy. The project you will see in the video is a Card Holder Wallet I designed which I will be demonstrating how to construct in another video. Both an SVG file for cutting the pieces on the Cricut Maker will be available along with a PDF file for the pattern pieces if you want to cut them out yourself. Thanks for watching. I make leather wallets, and I cut the material by hand. It is too tedious, and I have been looking for a better and inexpensive way, I think I've found it. Thanks for your tutorial, I am going to buy one now!

    Rosie, thank you so much for these great videos. I do not have a Cricut but have been curious about it. You make the process look easy. I might consider investing in one.

    I am enjoying it from Japan. Thank you very much for the wonderful UA-cam.
    Please let me know. Is it possible to make a hole of 1mm to 1.5mm in leather or synthetic leather of about 1mm thickness with the Cricut? I would like to make a seam for hand sewing.

    I don’t have one but have been wondering about them. So do you have to buy the template from the pattern comply?

    Aloha all y'all. . .
    very informative video on both the Cricut machine and your techniques for making it work more efficiently and economically...
    I loved it... it's quite an investment, but appears to take much of the errors in cutting and shaping for those who make many copies of a singular pattern... I think I'm one of them. I do enjoy the sewing and building a project, but the cutting and measuring is my most vulnerable (and THE most challenging) part of the whole process... (sigh)
    * * *
    I imagine there are limits to the size of fabric that fits in the Cricut... for larger projects, I'll just have to build them by simply stitching the larger sizes together... or maybe hitting it with the scissors again... (grin)
    * * *
    Merry Christmas... to all y'all. . .

    Until that time. . .

      Cutting is not my favorite thing to do either and the Cricut really does help with that. Thanks for watching!

    I have a cricut maker. not sure if I have the knife blade, but would be using cork and I do have the rotary blade. the pattern I have is SVG - not this one. (the Tall Wallet) but there are no actual measurements on the SVG so is there a way to make sure the sizes are right? I also recently bought a cameo 4 which is supposed to cut this stuff. with silhouette studio - I find it easier to work with SVG's.
    any suggestions?

      The knife blade is a separate purchase for the Maker. You would need to contact the designer of the file you want to use and ask them what the dimensions should be. Then once you have the file loaded you can check the size of each individual piece to make sure they are the correct size. Thanks for watching!

    I’m selecting the tooling leather and it keeps taking me to deep point Blade which doesn’t cut at through all for me even though I rub it four or five times.. I can’t edit tools. I wonder if it’s because I’m using my tablet and not pc that I don’t see that I can use the knife blade

    • @RosiesArtStudio
      @RosiesArtStudio  3 роки тому

      I do not think.you can use the knife blade with a tablet, but you can check the Cricut website for that information. Thanks for watching!

    Rosie, the link no longer works to access Cricut. Which model are you using, 3?

    Would the rotary blade work for this as well? I cut vinyl fabric for purse making. Is the deep knife a "maker" only item?

    • @RosiesArtStudio
      @RosiesArtStudio  3 роки тому

      I have never cut vinyl, so check with Cricut to see what they recommend. I believe the deep knife blade can only be used on the Maker. Thanks for watching!

      I cut vinyl with the same setting as cork. Denim like fabrics and rotary blade. On purple mat secured with painters tape and some transfer tape behind as well. I have maker.
