I know this is late but while it may have been played at the right tempo they rushed in the beginning slightly and the switch from C to D it was rushed also. It was played real well though and I like the music.
Our band teacher mades us listen to this recording and wants us to play this at twice the speed, no joke. If we master it in a month it will be in our next concert...
We had to play this for honor band, but we weren't sure if we were so a few hours before the performance they decided we would...so we learned it then. That was fun....
Et voilà! The great D. D. Shostakovitch seems to be a true heir of Jacques Offenbach, the king of gaiety and dance music of the 19th century Paris. Shostakovitch's 'langage' is a bit more 'harsh' & noisy, but it doesn't lack rhythm and humour. Numerous galops and waltzes were composed by him for his popular ballet-suites and his movie scores.
Finally a recording where it's played at the right tempo.

It was pretty accurate, I just felt that the clarinets were dragging a bit
My school's band played this at Graduation last year. Needless to say, it caught a lot of people off guard.

Heard this tonight at Lincoln Way hs. Very good job LWMB
You cant even make it out on 2x spd. Maybe you mean 25% faster. 1.25x
@@hussyweissshutup1275 yeah even if done perfectly it would sound musically awful at 2x speed
No way anyone takes this at 2x speed. It just makes no sense and sounds like chaos 😂
I'm doing this for my college performance. It's so fun. Shostakovich is one of my favorite composers! Flute player right here!!
I'm playing this my freshman year and I'm on euphonium everything is hella high for me

Asian women are pretty cool
Awesome job but that is way too fast
thats the whole point man
Too fast and not clean, not enough contrast or musicality. Very good technique but no musicality.
