Well, the vampire crabs are my next set up, which has already been launched for 10 days "empty", that is to say with plants and bacteria in the water. I put a Pineapple plant, a Bromeliad divided into three part a chlorophytum , put java moss and European moss which comes from the forest ; unfortunately, it is very likely that it will end up dying because these Varieties need to dry out completely in the hot season to reactivate in the cold season. Depending on arrival it will be either Dennerle or those with bright red legs and pincers called Hagen. The palludarium is made from a lidded freshwater aquarium, which allows it to maintain 85% humidity and 23°C. P.S : On the subject of funny things, sometimes some of my Corydoras, swim with their heads upside down and their barbels at the surface or the underface of plants and then come back down to search the bottom substrate , not to mention liking to play in the flow. =) As for the crab, yes it's strange to sleep like this but they are capable of climbing negative slopes , so maybe it's not a pb to sleep like that for them .

@@fredericcolombier5380 That's super cool! I was really surprised when i saw this guy do it! I wonder how common it is for these crabs! They are cunning little critters!
In my very first build I had some issues but not for a long time. But overtime the crabs slowly bring bits into the water as it sticks to their bodies. You just vaccum it out with water changes. Once your plants get established they can usually pull out any nutrients in the water faster than they can cause problems as well. You'll get the usual ditritus build up though with bits of moss leaves sticks etc but it all adds to the natural vibe.
@@IndoorEcosystem Ok thanks! I recently set up a paludarium similar to how you make yours, and found that I’ve been having to do more water changes lately because the water is getting a brown tint. It’s still in its early stages so plants have not sent down roots into the drainage layer and I’ve yet to add aquatic plants, so I’m hoping that once the plants are established and I have some aquatic plants things will clear up.
@@Serpentine_fishing Keep an eye on it. You might just have had some early run off or something. If the water is testing fine and you don't have a swampy smell it should clear up before to long.

Way to small for that many but 3 would be ok. You have to set it up very well with lots of hides soil and details though. Small vertical tanks are a little more complex but certainly doable. I have a guide on tank sizes in a playlist for a better explanation.
@@IndoorEcosystemanother question, for sand substrates for them to burrowing, can i exchange it to sphagnum moss instead of sand or soil substrate? 🙏🏿
@@DeskiHaoz Sand doesn't really work as it will collapse when they try to dig into it most of the time. Spahgnum is ok in places but it's quite chunky and not something they can really dig into either so an entire substrate of it isn't ideal either. They will live with both without any problems but if you really want to make them comfortable you want to replicate a rainforest floor with moss, leaves, dirt, etc. Soil is good becuse the burrows they hide in help dramatically reduce fighting issues as they can't fight underground so it's a quick retreat if an annoying crab comes along.
