JBL just released the EON ONE MK2 column array on battery. 119dB max, App control, 42.5lbs, $1,200 Sounds interesting-another choice for those looking for all in one battery solutions.
I also have the Eon One Pro. I spent $1,400 then it went down to $600 now back up to $1,700! The Eon One Pro for Bluetooth backing tracks is the loudest battery powered column array I know of. It says 118dB peak SPL but it sounds louder than the Maui5 Go. I have never tested them side by side. Bass is about equal between the two. The JBL is a failed unit. Battery failures very common out of the box. Back of battery unit gets toaster hot. All channel preamps except the Bluetooth are extremely weak. Even at max volume not enough! Mixer is required. Read the negative reviews. Great weight, great concept how everything packages together but a failed design- do not buy! Maui5 Go 100% better!
I didn't add the Soundboks3 as a choice because they are heavy at 34lbs and big and bulky. They would be louder at 126dB. A pair would cost $2,000. Compare that to the JBL Compact which is 18lbs and the Maui5 Go bass bin is 29lbs. I didn't mention the cost of this system: Maui5 Go $900, JBL EON One Compact $575 Total $1,500 with speaker stand. The JBL Compact with an 8 inch woofer has more bass than the Bose S1Pro. Together with the Maui5 Go, which has better bass than the Bose L1 Compact you really don't need a subwoofer.
@@WWeiss-nv5vz I already had the soundbok 2 and I can tell you that for the price it is not worth it, yes it sounds loud but not 126 db, I measured 117 db max at 1 meter in reality. and the soundboks bass is not very powerful and not deep.
Hey Bill, I can’t find the video that you made that you talked about your cool speaker stand that folds into its own carrying case? If you don’t mind sharing, what is the brand name and model number? Speaker stands are so bulky to carry, I’d like to check it out. Thanks!
@@WWeiss-nv5vz They both look great spec wise although I cant seem to get the Yorkwille hear in the UK. I have a mains powered HK Audio 600 speaker and it is awesome so I am looking at the Move 8. I will let you know how it sounds once I get it

There are phones (i.e. Samsung 10) that offer 'dual audio' in there Bluetooth settings. But if you really must use Bluetooth during an event (though I recommend avoiding that, despite the very stable Bt module of the Maui), I would simply connect your Bluetooth-device with one Maui 5 Go and connect a 2nd Maui 5 over a balanced connection with an XLR cable. That XLR cable can be as long as you want and gives less chances of noise and/or connectivity issues.
I think a new Ev 8” battery powered speaker came out many say it’s louder than the jbl eon but it’s cost is aroun$600 😂 but until you compare it to another of battery power it’s only talks 😅
I love the JBL Compact except for one major weakness - on the App it clips at maybe 90-95dB. I have tried different gain staging settings with no improvement. It still sounds good/no distortion at clipping but JBL support said at that point turn it down. The Maui 5 go is much louder! Even the Bose S1 Pro will not clip before 98dB. JBL Compact- perfect size/weight, great App/EQ settings, good battery/Bluetooth, great sound, ZERO HEADROOM!
@@WWeiss-nv5vz Ok, I tested JBL eon one compact and I agree it reaches the limit too early, you must decrease the bass to make it sound louder but you will only get midrange and treble, I also have a JBL boobmox 2 and the eon one compact is not louder than BB2.

@@WWeiss-nv5vz Yes I know the Partybox 310 , I have one, Its max spl is 109 dbC at 1 meter in battery mode and in AC mode 111 dbC. It's much louder than eon one compact in reality but it's bigger and heavier. But at maximum volume bass is reduced by the dsp so the sound is compressed at 100% vol.
