Just tried this today and I can see why you had it scored so high. So much flavor and and at 120 proof it hits the mark. Never thought I'd like a rum this much. Whiskey lovers will definitely appreciate this. Great review guys. Keep up the good work!
Usually a whiskey guy, but you guys put me on to Foursquare with the drinkthrough. Decided to try it at a bar and had to pick a bottle up the next day. Surprised I had never heard of it until now.
Hey all, I’ve been enjoying your channel as I get deeper into the rum sipping game-you guys seem to be having so much fun! I just snatched a bottle of 2008 after falling in love with 2007 (my favorite rum to date), and enjoying Sagacity. My liquor store just got a case and I couldn’t throw my money at them fast enough. Now I’m wondering whether I should have bought a backup! I’m looking forward to comparing all three of these Foursquare beauties this weekend. Cheers ! 🥃
The 2008 seems to disappear pretty fast, so if you like it I'd buy more. In my area I can still get 2005 and 2007, but the 2008 seemed to sell out in like 2 weeks. Good thing I got four of em when they were around.
Whoa whattt!!! Happy Thanksgiving guys, appreciate the video today!! And I hate u guys for getting me into Foursquare, cheers gents - stay safe and healthy!
Found Foursquare a few months back, absolutely love everything I've had so far! The 2008 has been may favorite, the 2009 is close. Real Mc coy is very good, but not on the level of the rums sold as Foursquare. I haven't tried the 2007 yet, but have it on the shelf. Need to go back and see if they have another 2008! Just got an 07, 08, and 09 from from one store, but couldn't see how many were there.
I've never had the 2004, but If you like the 2005 the 2008 is even better. 2007 was kinda flat for me, it's the only offering from the exceptional cask series that I haven't bought more than one bottle of.
Foursquare is my favorite rum, so glad I found it. Fred Minnick had spoken highly of it and a friend I trust said I must try it. Thanks for the new content. I joined to see the behind the scenes arguments etc.
Love the Foursquare tastings! You guys need to do a tasting of the Foursquare Detente next! I find it to be somewhere between Sagacity and 2008 in flavor. It's a little sweeter upfront and doesn't have as long of a finish as the 2008, but I feel like it's more approachable spirit overall. Would love to hear your guys' thoughts if you pick up a bottle.
I drink bourbon 99% of the time. I bought the 2005, 2007, and 2008 12 year old Four Square based on you're "drinkthru" review. It was FANTASTIC and worth the try. Thanks for the recommendation, but I love the bourbon reviews! BTW, The 2008 was amazing with a medium+ body A.J. Fernandez cigar.
I would love to see you take a look at the Real McCoy line. As I understand it, Foursquare is the Limited Edition & Annual release line while its sister brand Real McCoy is the regular production offering from Richard Seale with an age stated label. Its about 1/2 the $ of FourSquare and it is way more available (at least in my state) than its "cousin."
@@OttoBoy To be honest I have only ever tried the 12 yr. I think there are 3, 5 & 10 yr regular and limited editions and possibly some single barrel variants, but in my state (NJ) I've only ever seen the 12 yr, which I thought was very good.
@Joshua Lowe Thanks! I was aware of of the Richard Seale 10 yr but didn't realize the Real McCoy was sourced by a third party. I believe Doorly's is available in the states, but that's another one I have never seen in the wild. Cheers.
I am a fan of rum (and tequila and whiskey - do I have a problem?). Most of my rum is used in mixing Tiki cocktails, but do have a bottle of El Dorado 15 for sipping. Looks like I will have to hunt for some Foursquare.
@@CuriosityPublic Finally located several bottles of 2008. The aroma is spectacular. The first taste was over powered by the alcohol, but the second was great. It is time to add a Foursquare shelf on my bar.
I'm a little late to this party... I'm on Team Dylan with this one. There are two types of people in this world: 1) People who love Foursquare 2008 and 2) people who are wrong.
Overall I think 2008 is better than 2005. I do like the mouthfeel of the 2005 better, but 2008 knocks it out of the park in terms of flavor and long finish.
Better jump on the Foursquare Detente 10 year port cask because it will be gone quick $70-ish and 51%ABV. Hi-Times seems to have the best prices on Foursquare but Total Wine now has their stuff and only a few dollars more
I need advice guys. I'm mostly a bourbon drinker (ECBP, Russel's SB, and JD SB BP are some of my absolute favorites). I've discovered a place with 2008 and 2007 Four Square for $100. I'm real hesitant to pull the trigger on the 2008. Should I?
It is definitely a nice one to have in the collection. Can't guarantee every bourbon drinker will love it, but we all think it is a great dram, and is definitely worth it in our book.
They are both excellent but have some flavor differences. Check out our Drinkthrough where we taste them back to back: ua-cam.com/video/jE_L99046uw/v-deo.html
Touchstone blows them all away! More Foursquare.

Glad to share our love and happy to hear you can enjoy this too. I love this thing and look forward to picking one up every year. Cheers! -Dillon
I rarely view rum for sipping, but this is cool. My first legal drink was actually a glass of Pyrat Cask 1623 haha.
Wow!! That is a VERY special first legal drink! Amazing. I think it still goes for $200+ these days. -Dillon
I paid a sh*tload of money for that 1623 and never cesed to regret it :-)

Got a bottle of 2008 as well as some of their other stuff like Doorly's 12 year and R.L. Seale
I have the 2005, have seen the and think I can still get the 2008 and for sure get the 2004 and 07

Yes, we have some Real McCoy in the pipeline. It's great stuff as well.
I passed on the Real McCoy line because, like most rums, I rhink almost all were around 80 proof. Do any of their expressions stand out to you? Thanks

I think the Nobiliary is a touch better. Great review guys.
That could make for an interesting blind! Cheers!
The state system in NC doesn't order Foursquare. 🤷♂️🤦♂️ I do have a bottle of the 2008 though. 😁
How does this compare to the 2005? I really enjoy the 2005 even though I’m mostly a Scotch guy.

Dutch: BRRRRRRRRAP! Rum taste so good make booty laugh...
Dutch? A bit blitzed are we? Lol.

You guys should really lower the score a bit because once the bourbon/whisky community finds out how good this is it's going to be impossible to find.
It's already impossible to find
