Ok. I have a question you can address. The first few times I listened to this .. at the end I damn well teared up. My question is .. why/ Why did this piece of music affect me like that? Weird .. since then I have 'manned up' and mostly don't do that anymore
"Man up" is toxic gaslighting for men. Emotions are a human experience. Tuomas created this to be emotional, Floor sang it with emotion, so of course you felt the emotion.
@@user-jy1bc3gw2q not much concerned about 'manning up' .. heck. 20 years in the Army and with a break in service did Vietnam (18 months), Desert Storm (gunner on M1A1) and OEF/OIF before retiring. BTW neglected to mention that Floor, in an interview, totally rejects the Fach classifications for her voice as being irrelevant to a metal singer. Calling herself a soprano is as far as she went in that interview and even then it was a reluctant categorization.
I completely agree with that, Bill. No point using fach outside of opera or choir, and it's even going out of style there too. She's an amazing singer. Period.

i feel like ya missed the essence of the song, its not about shooting humanity to the start, its about praising (laudato, to praise) into the stars, to not let eugene go forgotten or something,
@@wazzalord3 both or neither, I really don't think it makes a difference. From an emotional standpoint it has to be the emotional content people react to. Should you be more inclined to celebrate the man's life because his accomplishment sky high, that too is a valid reason. Should one be swayed by the musical and lyrical content that too is a valid argument. It is music, and anyone can like or dislike any music. For me it really doesn't matter what people think, it is not my place to criticise those who do not like this or understand it. Though understanding is probably another can of worms.
lol people think dramatic soprano means something completely different than what it means as a fach, every soprano in metal is a dramatic just because the music is dramatic...

But here the rhythm is more complicated than that. It changes between 7/8 and 11/8 which makes 9/8 in the average. If you want to call that syncopation, ok. But I would say that there is a changing meter.
Yet another side to the voice of Floor. She was surprised herself hearing that back.
I was more curious about the physical aspect . .just why my reaction to such beautiful music was .. well .. getting teary? I suppose that might be related to why I feel happy holding my cat. :)
@@eTraxx I didn't say you were concerned, I was just shedding light on the validity of the sentiment. You associated your emotional experience with it by saying that you "manned up" once the initial impact had lessened. Nothing meant by it, just objective commentary.
i can´t leave "Edwin" standig there.... his name was Eugene Shoemaker. not Edwin. ;-)
Haha slipped the mind
Hooyahh!
very nice
'Laudato si' is insane, its ..
"Milo is a tiny little Ewok" - when you said that, the frame you had paused the video on actually reminded me of a shot from Episode VI if you replace the moon with the Death Star and make it a bit larger 😂😂

I believe it's a normal 4/4 and 2/4 🤔
At the end ... every time 😢
I bet she can nail even a Chinese traditional song in mambo or jazz style....
🙏🏻❤️
you really need to do Pan if you want a strange singing pattern or also Music :) )
Period.
Saves me typing Charlie, it's all here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_Merle_Shoemaker
Floor's operatic singing sounds better here than her singing the old NW works on lives. (At least sounds) technically cleaner?
Floor killing difficult vocal lines 💕💕💕 floor is a volatile Soprano
Not gonna lie, You stroke the Ewok like a guitar.
The fanatical Tarja supporters must now realize that Foor is much better than Tarja....
Too bad for the Tarja Trolls, but unfortunately for them, Floor is the Goddess....
Eugene Shoemaker not Edmond
No malice intended but I wish you’d of done the background research on this particular song before you did your reaction ... you’d of been blown away 10 times more than you already were
Your reactions are the best
Next time!
i feel like ya missed the essence of the song, its not about shooting humanity to the start, its about praising (laudato, to praise) into the stars, to not let eugene go forgotten or something,
Or something... I think it's both. Ad Astra means to the stars, laudato is thanks. At the same time, "essence" is pretty subjective in my opinion.
@@CharlieCalottaReacts fair
@@wazzalord3 both or neither, I really don't think it makes a difference. From an emotional standpoint it has to be the emotional content people react to. Should you be more inclined to celebrate the man's life because his accomplishment sky high, that too is a valid reason. Should one be swayed by the musical and lyrical content that too is a valid argument.
It is music, and anyone can like or dislike any music. For me it really doesn't matter what people think, it is not my place to criticise those who do not like this or understand it. Though understanding is probably another can of worms.
lol people think dramatic soprano means something completely different than what it means as a fach, every soprano in metal is a dramatic just because the music is dramatic...
im not far into the vid yet, but did you realise that is troy singing in the slow in-between parts and not marko? he is awesome on human|nature
I LOVE Troy's voice
@@CharlieCalottaReacts yeah its amazing, have you already listened to harvest? it was a bit slow for me but over the year it REALLY grew to me and it's one of my favourites of the album... after pan and shoemaker...
Actually both Marko and Troy sing in those parts. If you listen closely, Marko's voice is panned to the left while Troy is in the middle, Floor is on the right.
Might be a good technical reactio if he wasn't stroking off the dog the entire time.
Music lover, sadly no singer
Dont do NW reactions if you dont look story behind it.
