He's a really nice guy, good officer too. He's one of the UHP troopers who really cares about the people, the communities, and their safety. He pulled me over for having a license plate light flickering and going out, and I was cutting in and out of the lane from drowsy driving. He let me off with a warning for the light, and didn't write me a ticket for drowsy driving. He then called another UHP trooper to follow me to the next rest area making sure I got there safe to take a little nap. When people see this video, they think that's kinda cruel that he had to arrest that lady because she had warrants and taking her away from her kids. First he had to arrest her because she had felony warrants, it's part of his job, cops can get in serious trouble if they let someone with felony warrants go, so he had to take her in. And finally, that was actually really nice of him for not putting her in cuffs and putting her in the back of the squad car in front of her kids, that sight would be something that can stay in your head if you're a kid

Wow that’s nice. When my dad got pulled over for speeding in NJ on thanksgiving years ago, they arrested him on a warrant for missed child support. They left me and my brothers (13, 11, 8) in the car wondering what was happening to our dad. We saw him being put in handcuffs and he was escorted to the side of the car to say goodbye to us, and he left promptly without being able to give us hugs :( Then they drove us in a different cop car back to the station on the turnpike to wait for our grandparents to pick us up. That was pretty traumatizing, I wish it went more like this.

Everything worked out well in this scenario, but there's no way I would have let her return to the vehicle after bringing her out. You don't want to let unknown weapons enter into play. You can still treat the ones being pulled over with respect without putting yourself in extra danger.

Not almost.. he was. "I'm gonna go ahead and cuff you, ok?" And she turns around and he lets her walk away.

MattHeaven See this mindset is what's wrong with officers and the way they police. It's like they just view American citizens as criminals who are out to get them, they literally dehumanize American people. This mindset causes them to be disrespectful, condescending and overly harsh when policing and this is why they have such a bad rep in America. Don't be a police officer if you're too scared to interact with everyday citizens, don't be a police officer if you're just going to be afraid for your life during each and every interaction with a citizen. It's just not right.

I love that he didnt put her in cuffs in front of her kids that can be traumatic for a kid to see. My mom was handcuffed (during a mock arrest at my elementary school when I was 7) and they escorted her away and since then I seriously distrust the police..
