If you were just to listen to this without watching - when the architect said the client wanted to embrace his past in the steel industry and they clad the "compound" building in steel mash, you would think - this will be a giant eyesore for the neighborhood. But when you look at it, it actually isn't! Somehow the mesh does exactly what they envision it to be - offer privacy and light and doesn't look ugly. With a unique entrance and landscaping, the house has it's own unique curb appeal. I loved upstairs area - lots of light but also privacy and the use of timber and those doors look super cool. I loved the recessed window looking over the pool downstairs and the "bat cave" but overall, i still found it a bit too dark.
@@Stickybutton this is why I love arts. You have total freedom to love or hate something and there is no "right" answer. I just look at this shot 1:16 (curbside view) and I think it's elegant. It's light and sculptured, yet offers privacy. And the landscaping softens the look. And then, when you look from the inside-out 4:12 and 4:15 you see that it's translucent and lets in all the light. To me, it's a successful solution to a house in high-density suburban environment, with small plots and houses looking over each other. But, to each their own.
Rarely I enjoy the industrial style but this house is out of this world, amazingly well done, with the minimalist approach looks like no other and yes I love so much that can be one of my favorites in this channel. Great great job guys. Best vibes from Miami.
Magnifique intégration de l’industrie et la nature J’espère que le propriétaire n’a pas été perturbé par des voisins jaloux Bravo pour cette réalisation ❤
The comments are going crazy over this house. Best home I've seen 2024 award. Everything about the house to its industry style or kept/overgrown look. Whilst not copying any other house I've ever seen on the market. ( 0:050:501:371:562:50 and 3:554:11 ) were some of my favorites. The relief patterns, opposite textures, and gorgeous lighting patterns are so beautiful.
In love with this one. I'm a huge car guy and have been since I was a kid. It's a little too industrial for me and I would have included a bit more wood on the exterior. But I love the design and layout
A bit disappointed about the corroded screws on the outside, you should know which metals to combine for them not to react to each other with the outside weather.
Love the idea of sinking the house down but I have two questions. Number one how do you handle the rain and two who cleans the dust of all those metal beams?
LP400 Countach and a Miura. 😮 Those 2 cars are worth what a very nice modernist house in the States is worth. Proper Bond villain spec house--but more light and airy 🤓
Yeah it's absurd. It's awesome to appreciate a beautiful design and house however it's hard to appreciate the reality of what one man can have and millions can't. Like one of those cars would be the price of 20 houses.
A client from the steel industry: Some cashed up landlord's kid that inherited same zero taste. And also we recognise the traditional owners that BHP kicked off their dirt farm 10 years before his dad bought a bunch of their stock
The naming the neighborhood and then what tribe previously owned the area is embarrassingly woke. “We are on Palatine hill in Rome, originally the land of the Etruscans.” “We are in Mayfair, London, originally belonging to the Celts.”

The luxury of being rich is that you can realise a project such as this
The "power" too. There are so many beautiful things that exist in the world because someone with money said "yes".

Fair enough, but I didn't think the screen was elegant enough overall. It reminds me of a factory density, not a residential one.

@@mrvk39 I am in the trades so I appreciate stuff like this as well. Same with when I see a house tour and the mechanical room is a work of art.

the steel looks like crap on the exterior

I’m glad this fellow was able to explain everything about the house. It’s pretty damn cool.
stunning, The Local Project with a W again
Best project of 2024 so far
True!

First class industrial architecture.
Probably one of the best on local project.

This house is absolutly breathtaking! Thanks for showing us around.
surprisingly welcoming for a compound! interesting concept, i'm glad there's a place in this world to realize these out-of-the-box ideas.

Amazing how it looks like an art museum fused with a home. And so smart to sink the courtyard down for privacy. Incredible
It's really well edited and the "soundtrack" is excellent too
Incredible. Congratulations to all involved in the project.

this is nuts! beautiful and crazy bespoke
so stunning and inspiring
Hello from Saint Louis Mo and I love Melbourne beautiful place Australia just amazing.
What a beautiful and comforting liminal space.
So you're telling me this isn't where they filmed the Harkonnen scenes for Dune 2?
amazing, a house called in rusting steel!
Incredible artistry.... ☝🏾👌🏾🤟🏾
Holy moly! Wow.
This home is lovely

breathtaking.
Funny hearing someone mentioning Brighton and the local indigenous nation in one sentence.
@@darthmelbius Perhaps you should consider the history of why that might be
The serine house and flashy vehicles is an interesting pairing.
House gave me goosebumps
A bit disappointed about the corroded screws on the outside, you should know which metals to combine for them not to react to each other with the outside weather.
That outer screen is made of COPPER strips? That’s a lifetime’s wages for most of us right there.
Imagine that this is just one of many houses the client owns
Awesome beautiful house inside and out very tasteful all of them.
great house
First time i've ever heard someone say they want to celebrate the steel industry lol
Damn, that was so beautiful
Amazing !
Avant Garde would be an understatement to describe this property.
I'll take it lol looks amazing😊

wow all part is original design
perfection.
Can anyone i.d. the chair at 3:05?
It's cool how you ackowledged the lands of the tradition owners before the dope house was dropped on it with a bunch of Ferraris in it hey.
Bitterness sucks…
thats a lamborghini countach any designer would know that hey.
@@phaedruslykos3249 An LP400 Periscopica, and a Miura, and an Aston Martin DB5 - didn't see any Ferraris
mad geniuses!!
The luxury of being rich is not caring when a cormorant eats your goldfish.
Some beautiful elements in this, especially the screen, but the images of that bathroom make it look like a prison.
LP400 Countach and a Miura. 😮

Obsessed
The outside screen looks like a jail fence 😂
What jail would that be
Очень крутой проект🎉
How do I unsee this house😂🔥wow
are those audi rings on some of the windows?
0.34 Super !
Finger tiles...easier to clean....lol
Amazing home.
Aussies go super hard.
Gorgeus
I await the rust 😂
Edit : never-mind it's already there
How does a lack of corners make a bathroom easier to clean?
Especially those finger tiles with a million lines of grout. Guess they're not the ones doing the cleaning
What camera do you use?
The amount of money this guy must have. Unreal

Can you put the ad at the end after the feature? It was jarring and I watch the whole videos anyway
why does everyone on this channel speak so slow and calm, its kind of unsettling
So relaxing though!
You’re so used to Jojo Siwa I think 🤣
@@darthmelbius yeh thats the vibe im getting from most of the people interviewed on the channel
We made have no corners so it's easier to clean, yeah, I'm sure these owners are worried about cleaning
Oh to be giga rich.
"Industrual language", concrete and steel, hard but brutally honest, that is a language speaking to me too, but must get luxury elements excluded.
What’s up with the fake birds in the drone shots recently?
Wow. Sexy! What a unique design! Not “homey” enough for me but I still appreciate it! Even her outfit matches the space.
I was just thinking Bat cave
How they clean this house🤨🤨
The traditional owners clean it for minimum wage.
nice house but must have cost a fortune to realise.. and to maintain!
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
wooow
