OH, MY, GOODNESS!!! Just when I think I've drempt of or seen my dream "forever" home I stumble upon this architect and home. I'm putting it out to the Universe now....THIS house style, along a beach/surf, and this architect; this will become my reality one day!!!! I will be dreaming of this every day for the rest of my existence! 🙏💞
One of the best modernist projects I have seen on this channel - I love the transitions between spaces and the calm palette that allows the eye to take in each carefully thought through detail. It is a delight.
Lovely Build. From architectural student to builder to talented craftsman on one build is legendary. Usually this takes a lot of very experienced builders, joiners with a lifetime worth of knowledge and contacts as well as a raft of other professionals that have mountains of experience. We may be witnessing the next Frank Loyd Wright.
Undeniably, a fabulous home! It seems the home was designed to accentuate the landscape. If so, you have some serious skills as an architect and landscape architect.
Great expressions of thoughtfulness throughout. I like that the architect took time in his journey to actually be hands on with construction. Too many designers have, as I put it, "never pounded a nail" in their life.
Wow, you can be so proud. Your talent and considerations, bring hope to living homes in the future, where nature and people are one, whilst living in harmony.
Love the rawness of the beautiful materials used in this house and it’s wonderful connection and relationship with the outdoors.Really impressive architecture.😊
Very tranquil, feels airy, calm and collected. Back wall and a pond have Japanese influence. Parents are lucky to have such talented and thoughtful son ❤
"A series of stairs leading up to the entrance" .... but no ramp in a multigenerational home? Sounds like his 90-something parents do not need it but how lovely it would be for a multi-generational home as it would be such a welcome option for many. It would also be easier for young families to take their strollers right up to the front door. Well done overall though!
We are old enough for this to be a future consideration, and we now have a home we can move around without encountering steps. There is a step at the front door, but, like many homes we don't use that entrance. It made me wonder if this property had another entry which avoided the steps... through the garage for instance?
I share your observation that the trend for entrances into a home need to eliminate steps and focus on winding up to the door in an organic way so that ramps nor steps are necessary - supports people at every state of life (and health).
“A house needs to be more like a yacht” Do you know how many yachts you need to be on before you can say something like that? Idk I’m not rich but i imagine it’s a lot of yachts
Wonderful house! I’m so proud of the unique talent we have here in Australia. I used to watch the glamour houses showcased on the Enes Yilmazer channels and be impressed, but not any more. Homes on the Local Project showcase true architectural talent, and it’s great that so much true talent is here in Australia. Such thoughtfulness and intelligence. And real uniqueness. Well done 👌🙌⭐️
@@playtheukulele4flores200 they're being sarcastic.... The irony is, their moniker has a relationship with Frank Lloyd Wright and his philosophy of Organic Architecture....
Me encanta ¡¡¡¡, es elegante, práctica, acogedora y con materiales muy bien escogidos. Los espacios son perfectos y las transiciones...es muy especial.
What a heart-warming story! A young dreamer from a disadvantaged background pulls himself up by the shoe strings and becomes succesful, then comes back to help out his poor parents by building them a sturdy shack on the beach in wchich they can enjoy the autumns ot their lives...

They must have bribed the building surveyor...all I can see is compliance and performance solutions issues - must be nice to have wealthy parents eh? - my parents' house cost them 650 pounds in 1950

So many armchair critics- my mum always said if you can’t say something nice then don’t say anything.
Social media wouldn’t exist if that ethos was respected…..
@@wrwosster89076 sadly yes 😕
Yep ….thats what all little girls were told.
THE DIALOGUE.
Absolutely amazing. I love your point of understanding how the existence of the outside influences the inside.
The absolutely best mailbox I've ever seen!!
Great talent - lucky parents.
Agree great talent... I'm sure it's genetic and shared values.
Stunning home one of my favorites so far❤❤

Love all the plants!!! It perfect in contrast with the cold concrete
I love the mailbox.
It’s the best house on this channel
High praise indeed!
such a beautiful place to live❤ lovely home!
Love the rawness of the beautiful materials used in this house and it’s wonderful connection and relationship with the outdoors.Really impressive architecture.😊
Cool house. Love the woodwork but don't care much for the concrete everywhere. Australia is such a cool country.
Simply beautiful ❤
Good son and beautiful design we need to heard the parents fellings 😄👍
they may want their privacy - pretty expensive property so security risks...
Beautiful. You are definitely a good son.
Very tranquil, feels airy, calm and collected. Back wall and a pond have Japanese influence. Parents are lucky to have such talented and thoughtful son ❤
Very lucky indeed 🙌
Aside from the beautiful features, you have a beautiful heart for your parents too. 💖
It is all about how it makes you feel . This feels wonderful
the house by it self is meditative

Superb!!
This is so beautiful and peaceful. I love it especially because I love my space, when one has a family you rarely have time to break away.
I so love this architecture!
The dialogue between the house and the landscape is deafening........

What a (future) inheritance flex this is. Siblings stand no chance.
Getting Sri Lankan modernist vibes
Love it. If this house is a yacht then I must be currently living in a canoe.
Didn't know Domhnall Gleeson had a second life as an architect!
Legend holds that he is still opening doors to additional rooms and areas of house but they simply ran out of film 🎥
😅
Anyone knows what are those interior concrete looking panels are called? They don’t seem to be a real concrete.
They are real concrete. It's just a result of the formwork.
I absolutely love this.
All of it.
Even the honesty of the relationship with the client.
The house is amazing, well done. 👏
We're glad you enjoyed this project 🙌
All that house just for 2 people? 🤔
WE JUST WANT TO SEE THE DAMN HOUSE.
Very nice) the house and the story of the son designing for his parents

Cynic! No matter the circumstances the house is a credit to all involved.
The cringe moving curtains. Dont ever do it. 😬
Do you mean curtains moving in the breeze, or being pulled back?
Unquestionably sublime, but undeniably privileged. The future imperative is doing more with less.
He could have got on drugs and wasted his privilege. Instead he’s worked hard and created something outstanding. Credit to him, his family and all others involved.
Massive carbon footprint with all that concrete. Would be more impressed with sustainable alternative materials.
