I watched Jigsaw with my husband knowing we'd both enjoy it. After we saw it we felt so much happier in our marriage because we fell in love with our true selves. Not the idea of him/her or whoever He or I made up in our heads but the woman/man in front of us. I told him every dark thought and secret I had and he loves me more for it. I married my soulmate on our 7yr anniversary. I loved him more that day then when we celebrated our 1st year. We're going to celebrate 5yrs married and I love him more now then I did when I married him. 12years of true love.

Really interesting hearing Daniel Sloss in this podcast episode, the contrast in his affect and dialogue is remarkable compared to jigsaw explained. As you say in the intro, really quite humbling to hear him talk about true love, therapy and meditation. A real heart warming episode.
Comedians are key workers. People NEED to laugh during a lockdown.
I live in Argentina, the country with the most psychologists in the world. Everyone talks freely about going to therapy and most people has gone at leats once in their life. I went a couple years ago and i want to start going again. And it's not just for privileged people, most medical insurances cover it and there are a lot of ways to get affordable therapy through volunteering

Yes! In my small town there is free therapy! You can go to the hospital or a special area in our townhall. Therapy was key during this pandemic. Love from Argentina 🇦🇷💖

I think one of the reasons why unemployment scares us so much other than the obvious if course (need money to live) is that we attach our worth to our jobs. If you're a lawyer that's your identity rather than something you do. It's actually only a part of your life not your whole life. Just like relationships. You are not the girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/father/mother etc. Who we are is much bigger and grander than that. It all comes back to self-love. Bring your highest self into the driver's seat. There are only five really important qualities that you need to practice on a daily basis especially during covid times. Love, compassion, gratitude, empathy and forgiveness. Use these five things in how you treat yourself and others. I promise you that most of your problems will go away if your intention is towards practicing these things.

ALL of Chris' interviews with Daniel are great but like to me as a CBT psychotherapist idk exactly what it is about it but ~something~ in this one is just particularly *chef's kiss* you know?
I've been unemployed a couple of times in my life. This doesn't feel like unemployment. This feels like the system telling you that you are surplus to requirements, no longer needed....cast aside onto a scrap heap to rust.
I'm so sorry for all that you're going through. I know from experience that it's not easy. 2018-2019 were very difficult years of my life. I got fired twice, went back to school and changed career, discovered being cheated on, left that relationship and then 2020 came along. At that point I understood that for me to live my best life I have to be willing to change direction when I'm not happy or else the universe will create difficult circumstances and force me into it. So I know it's really hard but try to think of it as an opportunity to do a self evaluation. Ask yourself some uncomfortable questions that need to be asked. Pay attention to the answer that comes from your subconscious and decide where to go from there. I can safely say that 2020 has been a wake up call from the universe. Let's make the best of it. I wish you good luck and I hope everything works out for you. In fact I have belief that it will. Take care

Daniel Sloss Teenage Kicks...I took my not quite teenage sons to their first comedy show! So funny. We were late due to a ticket trauma.. and he roasted them! We've seen him every year at the Fringe since, bar one. Again, they got teased in 2015 in the audience. Daniel is very funny and can be very dark too. My boys are grown up too, and they are still fans and watched the Netflix shows. I havent yet but I will! It's been interesting watching him from so young on stage to the man on the couch!

I am so impressed by his opinions on thing the bit where he talks ab how he is in charge of his life and career and his fans don't have right to dictate what he should or shouldn't be doing🖤great view. Bc allow others to take part in your Creative process takes away the magic comedy has and make is fake and forced🖤this is why he has one of the best if not the best(to me) content i've ever seen

Daniel just made a point about looking back and liking the changes that make him who he is today verses back then. That's interesting because a shit-ton of people looking back experience the exact opposite feeling and perception.
I do like Daniel's comedy including the cussing, although that is usually a turn off for me. Maybe it's because he comes off as genuine rather than affected. Whether or not the sense of authenticity is based on reality or not doesn't matter to the comedy because it's still very enjoyable to watch.

I think a lot of fans watching knows we're watching a 21year old, or 23 year old or whatever it is and that he will grow and learn things he doesn't know yet, when watching those sets. Even if he is wrong on some stuff, that's his perspective at the time.
Even know when he's talking about his relationship, he does seem naive. I think jigsaw and the effect it had did make a valid point of people staying in a relationship when they shouldn't. Still, long term relationships does take work, all relationships do(friends, family etc as well) but if there is love there you want to do that work.

Good relationships, marriages, take more than love and willingness to work at it. It is possible to love someone deeply but recognize a continuing relationship would be a detriment for both people no matter how much work you put into it. Being too scared of loneliness to leave a loving relationship that makes you both mediocre is pathetic was his point. And after 30 years of my own relationships and marriage, and witnessing other's, I absolutely agree. Those relationships make the participants comfortable yet stagnant and mediocre people. You may think a relationship like that is acceptable, but I don't, Sloss doesn't, and it's an opinion. We're all subjectively correct, even though we don't agree. That's how subjectivity works.
I understand the point about the merch Daniel, but think about the people. THE PEOPLE WANT THE MERCH !

Daniel is the first comedian since George Carlin who has an incredible understanding on how to use the English language
This is eerily similar to Philip Defrancos podcast and it makes me wonder how many times he repeats himself regularly even doing the same show again and again lol it’s like the old ppl at the retirement home I worked with that told me the same story over and over like once a week or every time it was even just a wee bit relevant 😹
I wonder if would he tell these stories he does in shows to ppl in normal conversation or never tell them again

As for Daniel having anxiety-- yeah. Just look at how he moves his limbs. His anxiety is incredibly visible.

It should alarm the BBC that comedians of Daniel Sloss's calibre do not want to work with them anymore, when to do so was once the top ambition and dream of every British performer, but they are unfortunately too embedded in their echo chamber to notice.
I think Daniel is amazing, but I don't know if he was nervous or the sofa gave him allergies, but he kept scratching his arms all the time.

Both of these men look masculine but their body language / expressions are mostly effeminate. This odd characteristic is the direct result of being highly-urbanized, drug-addled and totally-dependent on the work of better men. Men did not evolve to be "comedians" nor "talk-show hosts". Men evolved to hunt and work and defend the band / community. Urban culture cripples and often destroys masculinity. Daniel sat around and played video-games and smoked pot all day because he couldn't find any gigs. Think about that for a minute ....

Most of our societal dysfunction can be traced directly to civilized society.
