Content like this is underrated. It's one guy and his garage with a traditional family tradition so to speak. This is real world testing at its finest. Thank you and I'm now a sub!
this is what i like to see, sloppy inspired... with consideration and a lot of self thought upgrades and cleanliness.
awesome about the votech stuff and father son and all of that extra stuff that makes it awesome.
right? shows you can do it affordably with out looking like a total disaster!
Hey Joe, Thanks for helping me get this four year long project that much closer taking to the track! We are working on the transmission issues and maybe a new converter. We think the voltage drop/fuel pump issue is stock alternator spinning too fast. Gonna try a bigger pulley. Fingers crossed....easy fixes!
Happy to be a part of it, thank you! Now tell the weather to warm up so we can play with it!
Where can we see more of this truck?
Nice build.. what size front tire are you running on your truck? I have that same wheel I think
Everything you record and upload is very appreciated Joe. Great edits and I love your disdain for all the noise from your neighbors :D
Thank you! Hahaha man they drive me nutsssss!!!
I really appreciate the time you took to record the Terminator X tuning! Thanks man
Your welcome thanks for watching!
Love the details and honest realistic perspective on everything.
Love that you let people see what your doing when tuning👍 "subscribed" in for the tuning help
Can’t show everything but hopefully can help some people out!
Great videos Joe. My son and I are getting ready to get started on a turbo lq9 S10 Blazer build and we plan on running the terminator x so we really appreciate all the great content. Lucky for us we are close by and definitely plan on making Tempest one of our first stops once the build is done!
Really appreciate the work you put in to making these videos.
Love problems when they got solved 👏
Good job maaan.
Dyno Tuning is 3% Tuning 97% trouble shooting!
The intro with “what’s up gangstas” had me dying!
Lmfaoooooooo that’s a great way to start the video mc lovin
🤣😌
Love this one
What part of Maryland are you in?
What intake manifold is that?
What do you think it would have made on 91
That really just comes down to how brave you are and how much you want to push it. A couple videos ago i did a 93 octane 76mm car where i stopped at 650. I’m not a huge fan of pushing pump gas
I'm mostly curious because e85 is extremely hard to get in eastern Canada
@@dongsled I avoid it when i can but sounds like some meth injection would be a decent option for you then
What fuel were you running?
E85
Ha Ha Dulaney High School 1975 auto shop retired military
First
those atvs and bikes crack me up. total disdain
You better be extremely careful posting dyno tunes with the EPA screwing shops around with charges and fines
We appreciate the recording heartache.
Your efforts are very much appreciated man. Just found you on UA-cam. Sub’d. I’m leaning towards the Holley Terminator x for an upcoming project build. These videos of behind the scenes are great. Keep up the great work. Clay
Thanks, nice to have you! We have been having great luck with the terminator x stuff
hey Joe, when you are doing these tunes, do you watch you closed loop compensation to work on bettering the fuel map?
I followed really closely your idle stuff and got my 370 LS to finally idle decently.
I want to take it to get it chassis dyno tuned to a guy near me that is highly regarded.
If I am able to (hopefully next month) I will be sure to upload videos of the dyno runs, and if he lets me, I will set up a camera to try to record what he is doing on the laptop.
VS Racing stuff is good stuff. I run their stuff on my 509 twin turbo s10.
So thats what i can look forward to on my volvo, ive got same turbo and engine/cam combo.
I love all these videos, the inserted clips always have me dying laughing 😂
Joe love the videos, lots of good stuff! Appreciate your efforts even though it is a pain in the ass.
Thanks i appreciate it!
Awesome very clean S10. 👀👀
Much appreciated it was built by myself and my dad. Also enjoy your channel. Your carb videos are really helpful. Can’t wait to get out to the track.
I contributed to this truck at my school!
Back in the 80s-90s we all knew of sbc s10s around town. Everyone could jump on them nk problem because they wouldnt hook at 70mph. Now days they come off the line on the bumper. Doesnt even seem possible to hook like they do. The shock and suspension tech now days defies physics in some vehicles.
Good shit Joe.. it's chin_brah. Appreciate the extra effort to give us all the data and POVs. I got one just like this one I've had for a long time. I might just get around to getting it running soon. 👊🏼
Man I’d love to take my car to you. Seems like you know you’re stuff and got a good respect for the customer
hey whats up, where are you located?
What type of turbo kit on truck
Thanks for taking the time to film, I learn something new on every video and I'm sure others do as well.
Your welcome thanks for watching!
How were you able to remove oil pressure from the crank under boost ? Currently having issues with my 5.3l. Under boost it blows threw my oil pressure switch. I’ve replaced it twice now.
Is it awesome 😎 when you speed up the video & your turbo L/S sounds like a pro stock! 🤪🤪🤪🤪
My rs3 is that color
Your the truth, you go far and beyond…I know it’s tough but keep it up man.
You totally right if you gone do work on someone car or truck, take the time and do it right the first time and make it clean.👏💪👍
5K sub special = 30,000-hour raw tune video? Let's do this!
5k subs will take like another 2 years 🤣 man that would be a boring video 🤣
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest Nah, you're putting out some solid content. Don't sell yourself short.
Keep on keepin' on, brother! The subs will come.
That fueltech hoodie was screwing that Terminator up!
Kick the fan again for me. So annoying.
I hate that thing. Been delaying on getting a new one as once i get into a new shop I’m going to build something with proper fans but finding a new spot is taking way longer than expected. Might just buy a new one regardless 🤣
seriously people just need to buy Bussmann relay boxes
dude i cant with your fuckin video editing bro lmaoooo
Dude I always wondered what that squeaking was. Lol damn fan
Hello Joe the tune was on E85 or pump gas .
If you were closer I'd bring my 94 s10 ss lq4 Holley terminator x max up to you I'm in Kent Ohio
ah yea that is a bit of a hike!
Nice build what cam did you install
Nice results. Dude is lucky is trans didn't burn up. Trans check, converter swap and charging system upgrade...
Yup trans should be gone through now for sure
Damn wish i would of had you as my tuner. Dont think the dude knew what he was doing 240hp and 290tq . Junkyard engine do i retune with someone else
Pretty common it seems for guys to have bad experiences and then to retune again elsewhere. Some engines / set ups just don’t make any power and the tuner has nothing to do with it. Feel free to email me the tune file if you would like and i can take a look at it, if you have access to it.
Love the added video clips. Laugh my ass off!
Absolutely is much appreciated with you making these videos for us to learn it takes a special person to do what you do let's face it all you really need to do is tune someone's car instead you make extra work for yourself just 2 help others
Thanks man i appreciate it!
Much appreciated, but I've told you a million times not to exaggerate.
I would never do such a thing 🤣
This is how an engine bay should be
I have a 01 s10 it’s stock hopefully some day I can do a ls swap that has always been a dream of mine.
Just save up and buy one piece at a time! You can get there if you want it bad enough!
What types of AFR do you like to see or target to keep the engine safe on an NA.
12.5-13.5 typically. Wide range there bet it varies a lot based on a lot of variables
Do you a contact to order base maps?
I appreciate your efforts and I appreciate you videoing this and showing us how to tune, but if I'm being honest, the background music is annoying. Sorry. I mean no disrespect
Can’t please everybody.
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest true
Twist the ends of the fuse so they fit those holders even tighter, same deal with any cord cord that falls out easily.
Yea I’d probably Depin the terminator tighten them up and re pin them
I second the fuse/relay statement.
I like what you did with your hoody “holly” swop!
Ps. Last vid would of been cool to hear the exhaust after you were done but it’s your channel and who am I to say anything 👊🏼🤐🤣🤣👍🏻
Don’t mind me, I’m just binge watching!! Great content!!
Assuming your referring to the del sol or prelude? Neither of them ran at the time of finishing the exhausts haha. Next video will be the prelude on the dyno
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest , yeah sorry!! I was talking about the Delsol. Looked great awesome work bro. I live in Maryland too. Chesapeake City. Cecil county 21913
I’d love to swing by someday, check you out maybe even learn something or two!! 🤣🤣🔥
Where are you located? & what's the price on your dyno session?
Waldorf Maryland. Shoot me an email with details on the build and such. I don’t discuss pricing publically. Tempestracing@gmail.com thanks!
I love how you explain what you are doing when you are tuning I look forward to more of the Terminator X
I think the next one will be a nitrous set up
I really appreciate these videos
Nice numbers! Cool little truck!
We all appreciate your efforts Joe! You can bet on that!
Big thanks again!
Thanks man!
One of my favorite videos yet!
outstanding video
Are those the hooker turbo headers? Looking for something that will clearance well for my truck
I’m not sure on the drivers side. They made the passenger side
Homemade log style manifold and cheap shorty header
Very cool videos. Do you set AFR/boost first, then adjust timing?
I always start with low timing, dial in the fuel, then bring some timing in!
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest thanks! For pump gas stuff whats your usual IAT number you stop at?
Wish we could get some decent fuel here in nova scotia Canada 91 octane sucks
I can’t argue with you on that!
Haha. Kinda hard to id say
Great video sir!
Great content keep it going
I appreciate it.
Where at in Maryland are you? I live in delaware and have a ls s10 with terminator x that I need tuned when its done
Waldorf Maryland. I’m like 15 min from Maryland International Raceway
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest do you kind of have a standard fee or a ball park number? You can tell me to piss off if you don't want to say a price on here
@@slows102 shoot me an email i do not discuss any pricing publically! Tempestracing@gmail.com
Hi larry from Canada just have a question got a 93 fox mustang with mild cam 1.7 roller rockers stock bottom end stock heads with on 370 mm Turbo Holley Terminator ECM running only 8 lb of boost what do you think my air fuel ratio should be the tuner here in Canada set it to stay at 14.3 should it be lower or more with 60 lb injectors he made 375 hp 408 ft torque can I get more out of this safely and for some reason the car while driving the engine with just turn off but all power is on and then I will try to start it and it fires right up is this tuning problem or a car problem have you seen this happen thanks
14.3 would be fine for cursing and idle, but is way too lean for full throttle conditions. Is it shutting off like while your maintaining speed or when it tries to return to idle?
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest its turning off when maintaining speed
@@turbo5.061 that sounds more like a wiring issue or some other issue. Does it run good, then just randomly shuts off? Or does it run bad
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest it runs good vary good but when driving at speed just the engine shuts down still have power in the car Holley system still on like on the 3 in screen shows all the numbers air fuel temp oil pressure what about air fuel wide open it's at 14.3 the when I come off 15.1 then down to 14.3 never goes to 13 or 12 what would you have this set to thanks for your time larry
@@turbo5.061 if it’s that lean under power I’m amazed it hasn’t blown up yet. As far as it shutting off have you tried logging it to see what’s actually happening?
Thanks for your time..
Your welcome thanks for watching
Excited to see what it makes!
What is dome pressure
Amount of Co2 you add to the top of the wastegate to regulate boost
What timing was in at 15psi?
I don’t remember- start low and raise it until the car tells you to stop! I left the timing in this one pretty soft, i do remember that.
And fuel system
Fuel system is good enough as is for what his goals are. Well once the voltage issue is fixed. A second pump will be needed if he decides to turn it up much more!
What suspension setup is on the truck
We did a Calvert split mono leafs, Calvert single adjustable shocks and Caltrac bars. Coil overs in the front
@@adamgamber8133 ok thanks
Do you have the ability to tune AWD?
