- Sugar Ray Robinson couldn't punch him like Jack Nicholson did.
A legendary scene from "The Last Tycoon" (1976), directed by Elia Kazan.
Their simple appearance on the same screen at the same time ensures cinematic perfection.
Nicholson's character Jack Torrence (the shining) vs De Niro's character Max Cady (Cape Fear) ...Now that's a rumble
Mitchum (Cape Fear too)
Jack Nicholson and Robert De Niro almost co-starred again in "The Departed", but Martin Sheen took the role De Niro was offered.
I always preferred Nicholson over De Niro, but that’s just me!
oh shit , those are michael and trevor when they were young!
Trevor won here
You could always figure out JN if he's in a action or drama,horror movie. He is the crazy,drama or funny laughin person that will seriously, truthfully amaze you by word or by action
Watch "A Bridge Too Far" (1977). Now there's the ultimate cast.
Yes! Definetly Dog Day Afternoon featured a magnificent Pacino performance... Same goes for the wonderful, often overlooked movie - Scarecrow.
I think I jizzed in my pants a little seeing these two in the same movie....
also. he was at best in the 70s. i reccomend you see Dog Day Afternoon. he was clumsy, unintentionlly funny, exhausted, sincirely inlove, and caring. that's got to be one of his best performance. so different with his Michael Corleone
Frank Costello just punched James Conway
THIS CANT BE??????? THEY BOTH R EQUAL!!!!! JOKER VS GOODFELLAS
Both two guys played the devil in 1987 in movies like angel heart and witches of eastwick.
@freelanceer Ever since the '90s, when I was a kid, I'm wishing for another movie with these two.
that one little scene is a cinema gem. like two colossus colliding, one down one stands. two giants
I think that idea just shut down my entire cerebral cortex...
Don't fuck with Jack.
Jack Nicholson, using an alias, would later go on to shoot Robert De Niro, also using an alias, live on TV.
When was this? In which context?
Jack Torrence knocks out Jake Lamotta
John Wayne has won an Oscar, believe it or not, and has legendary status amongst actors. Also, I forgot to mention Jon Voight, Sean Connery, Jack Lemon and older ones such as Robert Mitchum, Gregory Peck, Humphrey Bogart, Gary Cooper, Clark Gable, James Stewart and Henry Fonda.
Well IMHO he's great in
Dog Day Afternoon and Serpico and some other movies from the 1970s,
But I'd have to say in the last couple of decades or so Pacino really hams it up in a fair number of his films,
I do think he and DeNiro were both outstanding in Heat though.
Nicholson's the king, its over he's the greatest folks!
They were in a movie together????!! WHAT NOW I NEED TO SEE IT
A film from 1976 that stars de niro and jack? how have I not heard of this?!
@brewsie2: The movie is "The Last Tycoon," based upon the final, uncompleted novel of F. Scott Fitzgerald.
"I always wanted to hit 10 million dollars"
If only Al Pacino showed up with Peter Sellers they could have had a four way Japanese death match of ACTING EXCELLENCE!!!
Oooh no you're making me sad... Oooh no you're hurting my feelings... Get back in your sandpit
Man... it's not always you see Two of the Three Great Actors(along with Pacino) of their generation in one frame... i wish some director would make a movie with Nicholson teamin u with either DeNiro or Pacino
one punch and hes knocked out i mean wtf ? these 2 are classic together !! MAKE ANOTHER MOVIE
I like the soundtrack of this movie. Can you extract it from the movie? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks
NICHOLSON Vs TySon PUNCH!
Layed out The DeNiro out of him!
Why does everyone like Pacino so much??? I mean I'm not saying he's a bad actor but he seems so overrated. He's great in Godfather I and II... In Scarface he's pretty good, but besides that what else has he been in that's great?
You know, buddy, there are a lot of decaffeinated brands on the market that are just as tasty as the real thing.
Holy Shit! 0_o
Travis Bickle just got owned by The Joker!
Nicholson is saitama
Nicholson was probably terrified after this was shot, haha. The only person more intimidating than Nicholson is De Niro.
What if on top of that, Anthony Hopkins, Clint Eastwood, Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, Robert Redford, Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman showed up? What orgy of talent would then take place?
Here Hitts Johnnny... Johnny Hit Johnny Boy bad!
Your DNA is cheesy.
Jack Torrance vs Travis Bickle
@JMBitchboy In his Raging Bull or Cape Fear days, for sure!
I was reffering to actors from older generations, even though I forgot to mention Bob Duvall, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel, Christopher Plummer, Warren Beatty, Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster, John Wayne and a lot of others. But from the younger generations, I definetly preffer Daniel Day-Lewis, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Sean Penn, Kevin Spacey, Benicio Del Toro, Robert Downey Jr., Johnny Depp, Ed Harris and Russel Crowe.
On behalf of Bobby exact revenge!
my god de niro can brilliantly play anything!! watch cape fear after this movie & you'll know what i mean
Pacino + Deniro tandem is so 90's... HEAT already did that... lts leave it at that. Righteous Kill was horrible. the much awaited tandem for me will be Jack Nicholson teaming up with either Pacino or De Niro in an Oscar Bait movie...
@iaintmadatcha I think it's 'The Last Tycoon'
If you talk about viewers opinion, you should know that UK viewers voted Pacino as the No.1 movie star (AHEAD OF Deniro). He has consistently been ranked as one of the greatest actors of all time in various polls. I proved u wrong one more time. So do me a favour. Dont reply back as you have been humiliated enough.
Hold up, What film is this? Rob de Niro & Jack Nick in a movie together? call me slow i was unaware of this
lol it's Joker & RP Mc Murphy vs. Max Cady & Goddfellas
@dckitchen
i guess if you can write a comment, you can also read, right? so reading the description may help you...
But is he anywhere close to actors like DeNiro and Nicholson?
Okay... you seem to be well cultivated and I highly respect that. Let's just strike John Wayne away from that list and replace him with Sidney Poitier (not that there's ANY resemblance).
@Werebull no vendetta vs jack, but that would've been the shit!
@arrestedeveloper
Does that surprise you.
I know right
and I like more Pacino than Deniro
deniro was skinny to play wunderkind Irving thalberg from MGM
Ok man are you waiting for me to agree with you? Anyone could go and list a bunch of movies... That doesn't mean they're any good. I guess it all ends as the viewers opinion. Do me and this page a favor and don't reply back
what about van damme
S'funny,I always wanted to OWN $10,000,000!
Go watch Slumdog Millionaire
@anant19894 she damn sure is...
well it's sort of paying a respect to a person who gave one of the best performance EVER on Film. yeah, i agree with you that besides those films, he hasnt had as great films as De Niro. but that was because De Niro had Scorsese. and Pacino doesnt really do accents, he's more of classic acting...
still, his performance in the Godfather part 2 is so powerful. i think it beats all of De Niro's best performance even Travis. but just closely beats. it isnt far.
ps. i didnt like his Scarface.
what movie is this?
Nicholson is better than both.
@kpotassium cos u not ready for jack and de niro
@anant19894 lol
HAHAHAHAH this was funny, ive never seen it though:]
meryl streep is better than deniro and al pachino
In almost all his movies Jack gets his ass kicked (quickly). So its great for me to see him K.O. someone. Deniro (ballsy).
Haha
Great cast, yeah, but only a few standouts. Edward Fox for his peptalk, and Redford and Hopkins. The rest are pretty damn mediocre.
오 원펀맨
R u kidding me? Pacino is way better than Deniro or Nicholson. Take a look at the movies he made. Godfather Trilogy , Scarface,Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico, Scent of a Woman. He has it in him to lift a movie above mediocrity single handedly e.g And Just for All, Dick Tracy.. Nicholson is a fine actor too but Deniro is highly overrated. Pacino unlike Deniro doesnt need a Scorcese to make great movies.
Nicholson is so much better than DeNiro
