Thank you for your review. Looking at a discography, it doesn't seem that these sides were as obscure initially as you seem to suggest. 8 of them were issued on 78s in 1949-1950 in the US, plus pressings overseas in the UK and continental Europe. In 1954 there was Classics in Jazz, a 10" LP that included the missing 4 tunes, and in 1957 came Birth of the Cool, surely released to capitalise on Miles' new-found fame as a Columbia signee. That's not too bad for a period of only 7 years.
Yes I agree. In the first year I was doing this, my background research was less thorough than today (I still make outrageous bald assertions but they are more grounded in fact 😊) and in addition I was yet to do the deep dive into the 10” era I’ve done since as a collector, which would’ve revealed exactly what you mention.
absolute classic album. Pretty influential for me!

Thank you so much
Happy holidays
Glad you enjoyed it Joey.
Great review, I just listened to this whole album while driving yesterday. Really fun to hear the tuba in jazz.
Thank you! Agreed - have you heard Ray Draper’s album with Coltrane?
@@TenMinuteRecordReviews I know of it and streamed it. Would love to get the vinyl!
Excellent review
Thank you kindly

@@TenMinuteRecordReviews Please continue with the bold assertions (“bald” assertions? haha) - enjoy them very much.
