    Love the top. Every time you say that " videos with more technical " sewing received the least "likes/views" it surprises me. I love them. Thank you for your hard work.

      It’s the absolute truth. If you look and compare… it’s predictable for me now. I keep doing them but it’s sad that all the work is only really liked by few.

    Lovely top. I love the princess seam hack and the double shirring. I greatly appreciate your technical details and it's why I watch your videos because I learn so much from watching them. I'm going to watch all your videos now that I've discovered your channel. So many other sewing channels are all about "see how many things I've sewn" without any instruction. They seem to be focused on showing off the sewist's newest sews and ego, not about teaching any skills. It's a waste of my time to watch them. You, on the other hand, are a treasure trove of learning!!! So thank you so much for sharing and all that you do! I know it takes a LOT of time to film and edit videos, much more so than most people imagine.

    I’m really liking your newer videos with your new set up. The sound and viewability have been excellent. It’s because of your excellent explanations and demonstrations that I’ve actually started hand basting. I used to avoid hand stitching, because I found it tedious. Not anymore. Love these top. They turned out lovely.

    Wow Karina, this video is amazing, thank you for the detail in the shirring. I am sure I will be able to use this shirring method to make some little dresses for my grand daughter. I could never work out how the shirred bodice would work with the width of the skirt but your video had allowed me to understand it fully. Many many thanks.

    How cute is that peplum top! I enjoy the sewing hacks and going to try this. I use them as my sewing exams to challenge myself. The Allegro skirt hacks look so cute with the Cadence tank hacks. Thank you for making us the best that we can be. It feels good to wear unique clothing that fits well. Now I have a good reason to buy shoes and purses.

    I absolutely love love your videos and I am learning so much from them. I want to become a PATREON but I am struggling to understand how to use it. I was a patreon briefly but discontinued when I couldn't figure out how to navigate. Do you think that a brief public video actually showing the different steps to navigating the categories of "patreon use" would be helpful to those of us who struggle a bit, LOL, with "technology"?? 88 yr old who is learning every day from your hard work. Your video content is so valuable and I so want to support your work.

    Hi!! Thanks for explaining everything so clearly. Would you suggest using interfacing on necklines and armholes of a sleeveless lycra garment too? If I were to bag them out with a lining I mean. Please help?

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  2 роки тому

      Depends on the style. I have a video where I show a knit tank with interfacing on the armholes. ua-cam.com/video/iy289O0EJpQ/v-deo.html it’s possible but bands and binding is so much easier.

  • @eileenmccallum1239
    @eileenmccallum1239 2 роки тому +1

    Your videos are so informative. With the shivered panel how did you manage to get the shirring elastic between the two layers of fabric or did you shirr two separate pieces and sew them together.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  2 роки тому

      I showed it in detail in the sewing segment of the video. It’s an extra tall piece that is folded in half at the end and that keeps the elastic inside.

      If you check in the description box of my videos, you’ll see the links to the other content I’ve made. In this case I said I had made a video on how to do it. This is the link ua-cam.com/video/UxKmkc2bli0/v-deo.html

      Thank you Karina. I should have watched to the end of the video but I found the princess seam hack and have saved it for the future. One thing I wondered about is, the pattern you used (the Lyric) has a waist dart as well as a bust dart. Does the hack still work is the pattern piece you are using has only a bust dart?

    If one didn't double the shirring panel, how do you finish the top edge?
