- Who enjoys sewing gorgeous dresses? WE DO! Today I am sharing 2 beautiful summer dresses featuring the new Tempo sundress from Love Notions.
The straps are wide and very bra friendly and there is great neckline cover with zero gaping. The bodice has a shirred panel at the center back… super cute and adds all the comfort too. Believe it or not, I have even sewn the inseam pockets this time!
You will see how to sew the bodice with facings traditionally and also how to line the bodice if you want to use a lightweight woven fabric. All in full detail step by step as always.
The Tempo sundress is 25% off through Tuesday the 20th of July. It comes in sizes XS-5X with a standard bust and full bust option. This is my affiliate link: www.lovenotions.com/product/t...

Karina I love following your projects. You are the best teacher, you take time to teach details. I just wanted to say thank you for all you do. Your passion for sewing is amazing
You are so welcome!
LOVE LOVE the second dress!!!!!!
Gorgeous lady! Gorgeous fabrics! Excellent tips!
Beautiful dress! Exceptional work as always. Thank you for all the quality and time you put into your channel. In my opinion, you are the best in all of UA-cam. You have helped me elevate my sewing. When I am faced with a sewing dilemma, I’m my head I hear you say “limitless sewing” and I have been able to figure things out. Thank you so much for all you do.
Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words 😀
I love how your mind works! Whenever you show us a border print/print within a print, I can never figure out the puzzle. And then I see your make and ask myself, "How does she always pull the rabbit out of the magic hat every time?" I love the print placement of your first dress. You had me fooled with the faux button placket in the second dress because I thought it was a different sewing pattern release! LOL! I should know that you are the Queen of Hacks by now! And once again Love Notions hits all the right notes! Inspirational, indeed! :)
It took me a while to think how I was going to cut it. It makes the dress even more special 😀
Thank you for your tips I appreciate them.
Your Tempo dress reveiw was very helpful and your dress just beautiful. Thank you.
You are a wizard with prints especially border prints. Awesome. Thank you for your magic. (Those birds are galinha d'Angola (guinea fowl.)
Sooo pretty! Love the fabric & colors. Thanks for sharing.
Wish I had seen this before making my first tempo but will use your way of making for my second!!!
Another fantastic video, thank you, Karina! I could not agree with you more about the facing length. Happy to use your affiliate link. I really appreciate the detailed tutorial.
Those birds are guinea hens, we use the here in the states as watch birds. They make that racket whenever someone or something comes around. Love your dresses, they look so comfy. Great job, very professional.
Beautiful Karina, and I so love your fabric 😊
Love the hack. Both dresses look great.
This was amazing! Thank you so much!
You’re so welcome 😀😀
You do such nice work. The dress looks beautiful on you
Thank you for your wonderful video. I was co fused about how to arts h the skirt, but now I understand perfectly. I love the dresses you made!
Lovely as always, your videos are sew informative. Thank you
I’m glad you like them 😀
Love these! Your details are great! Thanks!
Amazing Work as usual.
Love it you got it going
real nice dress
Both dresses are lovely! Thank you for sharing your construction details. As usual your tutorials are very helpful.
Thank you so much 😀
Purchased this pattern yesterday, thanks to you. Your in seam French pocket tutorial very easy to follow. I really do appreciate your videos, have helped me many times. The biggest thing for me was when you described about petite, etc sizing. You answered my query about this and now I have changed all my tall patterns to petite. Wow, game changer. Just wanted to let you know, because it had made such a major difference for me. Have 100% enjoyed my sewing more. Thank you
Nice dresses! Love the way you lined the bodice. And like that hack with the faux buttonband. 💕
I had a lot of fun 😀
Amazing use of pattern placement!!!! I agree with you on lining the bodice when using lightweight fabrics. Today I have bought materials to make this dress for family and friends for our Australian summer....it's perfect 🧡🧡🧡
There is so much goodness in this video. This dress is not my style but I am so enamored with your skillful sewing I watch no matter what you make. The blue dress is lovely but the red is a rock star outfit. Your pattern placement is fun and made me thinking of stripes and border prints that are in my stash. The shade of red in this dress is perfect for your skin tone. The front bodice makes me think of a lyre and adds to the movement of this dress. Great work!
Thank you so much. I was super excited once I made the final choice on the fabric 😀
I especially like the navy blue print version of the dress. Very flattering.
The red/black is nice too. I really like the buttons effect with the navy blue dress.
Thank you so much 😀
I love your dresses....the button hack one reminds me of the stylarc Ariana woven dress....replica only difference is the stylarc one has princess seams in the bodice...but I absolutely love your dresses...
Thank you so much 😀😀
Love the dress! Love that fabric! Great job !
Thank you so much 😀😀
Very flattering on you ! Love the way you matched the fabric design!
Super cool!!!
Thank you so much 😀
I love your dresses! The birds look like guinea hens.
I’m very ignorant about birds. I’d never seen any like that before and they were loud 😀
Love these dresses. Just beautiful. Very helpful video. Thank you 😊
You’re so welcome 😀
You are my go to sewing teacher! Thank you!
Stunning print and the dress is just gorgeous… very flattering!!
Very nice sundresses. Love the one with the button band hack ~ so creative Karina!
Great dress! Thank you for all of your awesome videos. Question - what top are you wearing in this video - love the pattern (and the fabric!!).
Beautiful dresses, the first one is especially beautiful! I’ll have to sew these up this summer.
I followed your suggestions and used some of the tips on adjustments and my Tempo turned out great! Thank you for your great tutorials!
Your dress is beautiful! You did amazing work.
Wonderful video Karina, as usual. I love your work.
Thankies 😀
As always, your make is so gorgeous!
Thank you so much 😀
Can't wait to make mine! Yours is beautiful! The video about the pockets (french seams) will be helpful. Great info as usual!
Using your affiliate link as well!
Can’t wait to see yours!
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles I'm working on mine now! Your tutorial really was the way to go. Best directions for joining the back & shirring pieces!!
Sooo pretty, great job as usual!!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you :)
Very good instructions
Thank you so much 😀
Just beautiful 💕💕
Thank you so much 😀
Beautiful dresses on you!!!!
Thankies 😀
I love this sundress! I had to buy it with your link. Thank you for the in-depth video. It looks pretty easy to sew.
It’s super easy to sew. Super fun too. I hope you enjoy yours :)
Perfect make you should be very proud of yourself😍 the fabric is yummy and looks great on you!
Thank you so much 😀
Great inspiration. Beautiful and great detailed instruction. Thanks
You’re very welcome 😀
What considerations would you make to make this pattern in a knit? Or would you totally not recommend?
@@beverleyblades2212 it would not be my preference to make it in a knit. Sizing down one size would be essential and I’d interface the bodice with knit interfacing. I’m not a fan of facings with knits either. But it is possible. I can imagine shirring the knit super fiddly and it being up deformed.
So much inspiration & helpful info for this beautiful dress, thank you Karina. The bodice lining, double shirring & button placket are so nice. Just picked up the pattern using your affiliate link.
I hope you enjoy your Tempo dress sewing 😀
Thank you again for another very informative video. Loved both dresses and I cannot wait to see the next hack. I always wait to see if you post anything on new patterns so I can purchase through your link. Also I am so glad you say Shirring and not Shearing, as you Shirr Fabric and Shear Sheep. 😆
The shirring and shearing lol. I really have to think about it 😀
❤
You look so summery fresh and beautiful in your dresses, Karina, that I followed your link and bought myself the pattern 😁
Cos I’m pear shaped, I’m thinking of adding some gathering into the back skirt, but only under the flat panels, to give me some more room for my bottom. What do you think? (I measure 95, 80, 112 cm)
I love your lining & French seaming, so I’m following suit 😄
Thankyou Karina for your warm, friendly and definitely helpful presentation ( yet again) 💐😊
I don’t think you need to add more space at the hips. Size M skirt has a finished width of 148cm and that gives you 36cm of ease, but for sure you could make the back skirt a little wider if you wanted. I just don’t think it’s necessary because your hips are only one size larger than bust/waist.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles thanks for your reassuring advice Karina! I’ve put on weight recently, and my usual styles don’t suit me any more. It has knocked my confidence in fitting, so I really appreciate your help 😁
❤️🔥
Beautiful dresses and genius on the double shirring. Does it feel more secure with a heavier bust that the single layer. That was my biggest concern. ❤
Yes for sure it feels more secure everywhere with two layers. I love how it feels on. The double shirring also feels great.
Hello quick question do you ever do gathering with sheer elastic instead of two rows. Saw on utube and wondered if you have tried before I try it.
No because I don’t have clear elastic and have never found any here. Even if I did, I find elastic irritating on my skin and would still prefer the traditional method :)
