***** CORRECTION**** at 47:48 I said the middle meningeal artery runs through the foramen ovale and that is incorrect it actually runs through the foramen spinosum and travels in between the dura mater and skull bone. I'm sorry for that mistake. Hope this video helps!!!

I have been a dentist for decades now, and of course the trigeminal nerve is paramount to the practice of dentistry, However my understanding was superficial. I went back for my Master's in Pain management and began looking for videos that could explain the trigeminal in detail--there are a bunch of superficial ones out there. There are only a couple with the detail, excellent anatomic illustrations, and clear explanation needed by someone who needs advanced knowledge. This is one of them. It is great for everyone else too--but it remains one of my go to videos for neuanatomic detail. Kudos for such a great vid!

"Dentist for decades", "trigeminal nerve is paramount to the practice", "my understanding was superficial". How can this make any sense or that it's legal for a practicing provider to not know something in detailed after decades of practicing? I mean you call yourself "doctor" right? Or is "doctor of dentistry" means "a little better than hair dresser"?

Thank you, you explained everything in a way i could understand, I have suffered from trigeminal neuralgia for 5 years and I never understood how it worked, according to this mine is the lingual nerve as it affects my tongue so any chewing/talking/swallowing would trigger an attack.

@@NinjaNerdOfficial lets collaborate, perhaps I can share some insights that I apply using interoceptive conditioning to create necessary changes to influence the healing process using science based theory such as law of adaptation, sarcromerogenisis, neuroplasticity, epigenetics, etc

Thank you for your amazing videos! they are really helpful :)
However, please be careful with not mixing SVE and GSA fibers at the end. It was a bit hard to keep correcting when drawing alongside with you.
    All in all amazing lecture!
