Carotid artery pass through foramen rotendum.

It does dude…..ICA initially passes upward, forward and medially in the carotid canal. Then it enters the foremen lacerum via the posterior wall. Then it turns upward and medially to enter cranial cavity…

  • @zippity61

    Great job!
Worth specifying - those microvascular disease third nerve palsy cases are typically *pupil sparing* because of the organization of the fibers. The parasympathetic fibers on the margins are closer to vessels, and more protected. This matters clinically because a third nerve palsy that involves the pupil is a pcom aneurysm until proven otherwise.
Small thing - cavernous sinus thrombosis is not a thrombosis of the internal carotid artery. Was just mentioned in passing at the end.
Cavernous sinus thrombosis is more due to coagulopathy, infection, trauma.
These things are pretty small. Your videos are remarkable!
