Hi, I just heard about the mini dam. My question is, is it used to seal a conventional dam with the use of staples? Or can this mini dam hold a conventional rubber dam? Thanks.
Hi Doctor Yes this mini dam can only be used to isolate tooth requiring restoration.. it will not protect from salivary contamination of entire mouth and is not a 100% isloation technique
Deni Baker Hi, I’m 26 and just found out about resin infiltration. I’m on prescription Clinpro 5000 toothpaste for a few months now but I don’t see any difference in my white lesions. I have lesions on my front top 6 teeth ( incisors and canines ) and it hasn’t gone away. My dentist is amazing but has not said of any treatment to help with it so far. I’m looking for a second opinion. I see this treatment is offered at other dentist offices and I really want my decalcification spots to go away. I have changed my diet and brush religiously and also have a water pik. But I see no progress or change. What can I do to help my condition? Thanks in advance.
Hi great to hear from you.. as your doctor has planned resin infiltration so i am presuming that you have either MIH(molar incisor hypo mineralization or incipient white spot lesion) ...so your doctor must have very correctly planned the treatment for your treatment to be best . Now since your treatment has not been started yet so no results would be seen as of now..but definitely whenever it’s done you will be amazed to see your results. Get your teeth Preoperative Photograph done so that you get to see your after treatment results and would help you analyse the changes Hope you understood my point. All the best
Yes Dr..it's good but not ideal isolation method...i have mentioned the procedures in which it is indicated to be used...THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN MARKETED BY DMG AS MINI DAM...so its easily available
On model everything looks perfect. In real world child would take off that mini dam with their tounge in a sec....if pacients are older coton rolls do the job.
In real world it works fine too...models are done to educate more precisely and stability ...if child wants to remove he can remove anything and everything from mouth...so we need a good approach before introducting any Material or instruments to children. Hope you got my point Dr
