Hello Dr. Stevenson. Really nice explanation. I have a request if you can also post emergency tooth repair video (On how to correct tooth damage during crown preparation). Thanks

@@StevensonDentalSolutions I mean the knots with floss around the teeth. I know that you said in part 4 it is not necessary, but I feel like in case of cervical restoration or preparation it is very helpful.

Oh! Sorry - yes, the knots are completely unnecessary if you punch the hole sizes properly and invert the dam as I've shown. I learned this about 30 years ago while performing gold foil restorations where any leakage will result in a complete failure of the gold to adhere. I hope that the original techniques of the masters I've had the privilege to learn from don't get lost! KEY POINTS: 1. Proper hole size and spacing, 2. Use floss to invert proximals, 3. Use air and explorer technique to complete the inversion, Thank you!

@@StevensonDentalSolutions I will follow your advices with great pleasure. To be honest, I always punch my rubber dam with the same biggest hole size for all teeth.

How to isolate an upper distal most molar with a DO cavity extending subgingival? Any specific clamp or technique for that?

    • @StevensonDentalSolutions

W2 rotated 45 degrees medically, or a 14AD or 27 with distal access. There used to be a clamp made by Ivory called a 17, which had three jaws made just for this purpose.
