I am in a very hairy situation involving a time sert going into my engine through the drain bolt hole and this video is by far the best video on youtube for a 2010 crf 250r. thank you for making this video.
Hey George. I'm glad my video was able to help you out. A lot of times I will just drill & tap the original case for a bigger oil drink plug if possible. Not sure how a timesert got into you cases. they have a lop on them that you countersync. I've seen that happen helicoils before. I hope you get it all figured out & fixed back up.
I have a 2011 im fixing to rebuild the bottom end gave up but i noticed you got iy to start right off mine even before any problems took me forever to get it to start any advice on what i might have been doing wrong
I would check to make sure your valves are sealing tight. If you have leaking vavles that makes them very hard to starter. Also being that it's a 4 stroke give it 5 r 6 slow priming kicks then makes sure your your on the compression stroke then give it a hard full kick.
Should i use a small bead of right stuff gasket maker on main crank case gasket? Or install it dry? I’m trying to put center and right cases back together!
You can put a really light coat on both sides if you want. I usually install mine dry but to be on the safe side & you don't want to take the chance of having a leak. Put a light coat on both side. But a really think coat. Not a big bead. Use your finger to spread it out nice & thin.
I sure don't but just your basic metric tool set & bearing driver set & the right size flywheel puller, feeler gauge set for valve clearances, proper shim kit. I'm not sure what size flywheel puller you will need. You will have to measure that.
im about to rebuild my crf 250r 09 year soon ,will be my first time doing it,hope i have luck ,it have really bad sound from some gears or cranckshaft .
It a really good possibility that is the a rod bearing. Have you seen any gold shavings in your oil? that is definitely a sign of rod bearings. You can just get yourself a wrench rabbit kit for the rebuild.
So I just rebuilt a 2007 crf250r got it back together and now I dont have 4th gear any suggestions are appreciated it goes into 4th but it acts a 2nd neutral idk whats going on here
Hey ALDAMONEY. First question is did you take the transmission apart? When I say that I mean did you take it off the gears off the transmission shafts? Aslo did you check the gears for any damage on the dogs & dog houses( the parts on the gear that mesh together)
First time builsing a honda in years cant find a video on a 17, i have two orings/d rings and cant figure out were they go, just want to be sure i dont cause my bike to smoke itself.. any help appreciated
I have a 2014 crf250r that i am about to rebuild because of conrod failure and i would really like to ask you if i can buy the crankcases you took apart 🙂 (sorry about that i could not resist asking i really loved the video thow is the most detailed one I've seen
lol I actually messaged the owner of the bike to see if he still had the crank cases which I'm sure he does. I'll let yoy know a price when he does answer me back. I wish is was a little more detailed. I lost some footage putting the transmission back in but thay happens sometimes when you're a 1 man show lol. I appreciate the complement & thanks for checking out my video. Hope it helps you out.
I do like to heat cycle them about 3 r 4 times to make sure all the bearings, piston & rings, cylinder ect... have proper time to break in & that I don't hear any issues with the motor before going out for a hard ride.
I stripped my oil pan bolt and tapping blow out so I’m breaking down the whole case now does anyone know what special tools i need? I just got to the fly wheel puller part so I just really want to order all special tools i may need at once! And advice would be really appreciated thank you!
Hey Eason. Of course the fly wheel puller, clutch hud holder, bearing/race/seal driver for the new bearing your going to have to install. Valve lash gauges so you can set valve clearances while your there. I would also put a new set of rings on your piston since you're at that point too. Off the top of head I think that's it. maybe some snap ring Pliers.
ok thank you i did get a full gasket and oil seal kit and new piston and rings and ordered the fly wheel puller so now i just need bearing driver and snap ring pliers and clutch hub holder? Think that will do it?
I really wish I knew the answer to that. When I worked for the triumph national service center. I saw a ton of the Bonneville with melted oil pump gear because when they sit there & idle they get to hot & would melt then. I'm guessing it has something to do with heat transfer are noise.
Hey Tyler. I appreciate your feed back & checking out the video & I totally get where you are coming from. But some times things just don't turn out that way. When your trying to do it all yourself there are times when you're working you don't realize that you are leaned over infront of the camera are that you mic went dead, footage get corrupted. Are in the case you're talking about nothing was in focus & I kept leaning in to the camera shot. So it was unusable footage. That's where editing comes into play. Sorry I can't afford a professional camera crew are editors to help me out. I would absolutely love to have that. But also take into consideration I'm also doing a paying job for a customer & the perfect video is the last thing on my mind. My main goal it to make sure the job is done right the first time. I would love to be able to go back & re record a lot of stuff. I try to do that on all my personal projects but unfortunately in this industry time is money. I hope you can understand where I'm coming from.

Oh good i did thank you! Your video has helped me through this whole process!
Do you have a full list of tools needed for a 07. Im going to rebuild it.
Thanks😊

maybe do a video how to clear carbourator ,would be very helpful ! :)
If I get another one in the shop I will try to do that for you. Being that this one is fuel injected not really a lot for go through on these.

Hey sorry just saw this comment. I'm not sure which 2 O-rings you are referring to. Did you have to rebuild the bottom end are just the topend?

Thank you so much i appreciate that
My customer said $550 shipped
But remember it will need some bearings & seals.
Do they have to be run in

yeah that should. You can use a penny to lock the primary gear in place to loosen & tighten them. Oh a good Newton meter torque wrench
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 oh good to know thank you for the video and advice!
Just i am asking you, why they put plastic sprocket to oil pump? All companies doing the same!!!
I really wish I knew the answer to that. When I worked for the triumph national service center. I saw a ton of the Bonneville with melted oil pump gear because when they sit there & idle they get to hot & would melt then. I'm guessing it has something to do with heat transfer are noise.
forgot to install oil pump lol
shhhhh don't tell everybody lol

If you're gonna start a video then you should finish a video. Don't half ass it. Never showed the full internals.
