yes that is the best way with airbox. removing both same time. install i do the airbox seperate.
I just helped my friend clean his carb last night on his 2004 CRF250R. We took the rear triangle off but the carb was stuck to the rubber. Finally broke the seal loose by separating with screwdrivers. Upon reassembly l put some silicone grease on the rubber boot and it slid on real easy. Do the same for the hose that goes into the top of the air box and then use some flat needle nose plyers to pull the hose over the barb. Not much room in there to get the hose back on.
That sounds like a good method! Otherwise it sure is a pain to maneuver back on... I’ll give it a try on reassembly!
