Have an 11 year old with the beginnings of acne. This is great info to get her started on minimizing her acne and protecting her skin from what can be damaging.
I have suffered with acne for 30 years with severe face, neck, back, and chest. Skin routine does help, but you need to address internal issues first. I was on Accutane twice for six months both times with a double pill dosage and it drastically reduced my acne. Until my late 40s, I changed my diet and this helped dramatically. No sugar, no dairy, no fast food, reduce and eat better carbs. Basically, if you eat crap then you are going to look like it. I also incorporated intermittent fasting. This may not work for everyone, but it helped me. I added a skin routine after this change and now my skin is under control.
100% agree on the adapalene gel! If nothing else, this single ingredient was a total game changer to my routine. Apply once per night, just need to apply a thin film on your face and you're good to go. Just stay consistent because it does take at least 2+ months to really take effect. Great advice all around!
Yes couldn't agree more I was so distressed dealing with menopausal acne 😩My GP was giving me a mild gel to use which was useless until I found these guys promising the greatness of Adapelene. It took two months for me too and got worse before it for better but I'm now acne free just having to deal with the mild hyperpigmentation left behind

I hardly ever write comments but I just had to. I want to thank you both, I have struggled with bad acne since I was on a birth control injection called Depo (please do not use this method of birth control, it may be easy to just get a injection every so often but it WILL ruin your skin and health!!) now that I’ve been on regular pill birth control for a few years my acne stopped being so aggressive. However, I was left with the worst scars, I was so self conscious. I’ve tried everything but nothing seemed to work to stop the minor acne and get rid of the scars. I’ve been to the dermatologist nothing they did helped and I couldn’t afford to keep going as I have other things going on health wise. So I kind of gave up on my skin and accepted the deep, dark scars and minor painful acne spots. That was until I stumbled across your videos and found this one in particular. I started using the products recommended and it was insane the results I got. I literally almost cried when I realized my face hasn’t been this clear since I was in 8th grade. I’m so incredibly happy, I really began to think it was impossible for my skin to look good again. Thank you again for giving those who may not be able to see a dermatologist/esthetician educated guidance. You guys are saints I swear!!!
Honestly, my skin has never looked this good. Whether it was breakouts or rough texture, the subliminal affirmations on borlest helped smooth everything out. It’s amazing how much has changed!
I think having a takeaway summary is great to have as a reference material. I would like to see an updated acne routine for mature skin. I still have large pores and blackheads and whiteheads…but my skin is dryer and definitely does not have as much elasticity
I've always struggled with acne. about 2 years ago my skin was the best it's ever been. Nothing changed and it all went to hell. Ever since then I've been trying different things to get back on track with it but it's so hard. Just about a month ago or so I just stopped my acne prevention completely to see if a little detox could help my skin. I'm just starting to research to add different things in again and I searched for a simple routine video and found this. I'm so grateful that this is so current and well put together. simple and easy to understand and research/purchase the products as well. For the first time I feel like I have tools to take this on and set myself up for success going forward. Yall wish me luck😌
I can't remember which video I've seen on your skin care advice so I'll just write it here 😂 I had a severe acne problem with acne scars all over my cheeks. I couldn't get a dermatologist to check it out because the next possible appointment would be in a year... I bought products based on your advice for different skin issues and I've been using them since 2 months now. Just today I have quite realised how much better my skin has become. Instead of more than 8 pimples on my face everyday there may be just one every 3 days. The blackheads on my nose and cheeks are getting so small it's barely noticeable and the big pores I had are turning the same. The redness is less and the ascne scars are the only issue remaining, but I feel more confident than ever. Today is my graduation day and I feel confident to be on photos taken there! I am thankful that people like you are out there giving professional advice to people all over the world explaining what could work and couldn't. You're amazing and I am inexpressable thankful for every recommendation you're giving.
Adapalene did transform my skin for the best, especially in terms of texture and brightness. Saw a massive difference within the first year of use. Also helped me get rid of big angry hormonal pimples. However, I do still break out - spots looks smaller and tend to go away quicker - but still leave red marks which last forever. I don't find it particularly drying anymore, however even applied over a moisturiser I think it disrupts my skin barrier quite a bit (I use no other actives really)
night - cleanse with benzyl peroxide, followed with adapalene, followed with gentle hydrating moisturiser. morning - gentle cleanser, followed by azeliac acid (ordinary) followed by spf!
If you have oily skin use that Benzoyl in the AM I have horrible oily skin and after like two hours I feel like I need a whole shower after. But using benzoyl was the only thing holding this oil back with a nice cerave moisturizer with some water and boom. I have added hylaronic acid into my routine and it’s changed my acne seriously
You would be surprised that a lot of us have sensitive skin and not acne. I’ve tried ever acne product and my skin was still breaking out. My mom mentioned my skin looked irritated and not like acne at all. I switched to Cervae hydrating cleanser, the moisturizing cream and the healing ointment. My skin cleared up in a week😂 Less is more sometimes.
Thank you so much for your videos. I've had acne for 15 plus years and I went to a dermatologist recently and they immediately put me on spironolactone, which I'm sure works well for most, but I couldn't handle the side effects. But I wasn't using ANY of the ingredients in this video. None. I wish they had taken the time to look at what I was actually putting on my skin before putting me on a medication with side effects. I've been on a topical routine based on this video for over a month and am feeling much more optimistic. Thank you, thank you, thank you
I've been drinking 2 garlic cloves a day, one in the morning and one at night with a consistent skin routine cleanse tone and moisturize it's helped. Sometimes the problem is trying a lot of products at once and not giving your skin enough time to adjust to the products. And in most cases a lil goes a long way and not clog your pores with lots of skin products...
I cut out dairy and sugar at the start of the year, my skin cleared up perfectly. As soon as I thought, “ok I’ll have an entire pizza and a bag of skittles I’ll be ok, what’s the worst that can happen” I got a break out on my eyebrow. 😩
I started using Naturium's benzoyl peroxide cleanser after YEARS of struggling with acne. I noticed improvement in my skin within 2 weeks and now 6 months later i am acne free! Benzoyl peroxide is amazing!
Thank you!! 🥹 I’m 25 and I’ve been dealing with acne since I was 12/13. This last month I’ve been getting a new pimple every other day around my chin area and along my jawline too , been washing my pillow cases as much as I can, cause I do sleep on my left side and most of my acne is on my left side. Also have it under my nose(those hurt!!) and I have a lot of dark spots. Gonna try yalls routine out soon ❤️ thank you for this information ❤️
3 months later update! I’ve ended going the Differin route! And when they say consistency is the key, for real, it really works, I’ve only use the night time routine because I found out my skin can’t handle the cleaning twice a day. But my boyfriend and family say they see such an improvement. And I do to!! My skin complex has brightened as well! I do get little pimples here and there but they go away after a day when using pimple patches! Also, cleaning your pillow cases helps a ton!!! Use satin if you can!!
@@tabbathaskye9661consistent, ongoing acne in the lower face and upper neck area like yours may be due to hormonal imbalance, food intolerance, and/or other underlying issues. still getting pimples is an indication that you haven't addressed what is actually wrong. applying chemicals externally may reduce the surface symptoms, but you are not treating the disorder causing acne in the first place.

I think these are great routine but one ingridents they miss is AHAs (gycolic and lactic acid). My skin literally changed when I started using the ordinary AHAs/BHAs peeling solution. I think incorporating it and using less of saliyic acid is better. Incase you dont see quick improvement with BP and Salyic acid, Remove salicyic acid and go for AHAs/BHAs solutions.
Note: Though Benzoyl Peroxide was amazing with clearing my acne, I had to stop using it because I came to realize it was triggering my eczema, which is a common reaction.
This was very helpful because I had it in my head that you were definitely not to use benzoyl peroxide or any of the acids at the same time as adapalene. I am just transitioning to adapalene from retinol so I'm going to hold off on those other 2 until I see how it goes.
Thank you! Both of you really helped me find the right products and proper skin care routine with all my skin concerns. You two are such a great doctors and you are both so natural. Thank you so much!💯🙏

Tailoring is expensive. Whether it's your acne routine or your clothes. Whether it costs time or money- it's expensive. It took me over 10 years to tailor my face routine and I'm still working on it. Can't afford going to see a personalized derm, but I haven't given up. Thanks for all you do to help, Docs. Keep it up!
What would you say to people who recommended not to wash your face in the morning when you wake up? I have seen that a lot in Tik Tok Thank you for your videos l- Very insightful
I’m not sure if you’ll see this comment, but I just downloaded the acne routine you guys left in your bio! You asked and I’ll gladly answer: this video is SUPER helpful as someone who has suffered greatly from acne for almost 10 years, particularly because I can’t see my dermatologist as frequently as I’d like to. With how many simple (but very important) questions I always have about the order in which I should be applying products, and also just making sure I won’t cause any unnecessary irritation and inflammation (or extra dryness, either), it really helps to have a channel like this one where actually licensed professionals give advice on topics like prevention treatments and daily vs nightly routines (with a little wiggle room and variation in them, because as you said, everybody’s skin is different). Thank you so much for helping me work with my skin instead of fighting it, and for helping me overcome my anxiety and indecisiveness along with improving my self-confidence, as well. I’m SO glad you’re both here, and I hope you truly understand what an immensely positive impact you have on all of us every time you take the time to create and post content :).
My routine that has helped my acne that I was dealing with for 10+ years: Gentle cleanser (generic Walgreens compared to cera ve) Benzoyl peroxide (index fingers length) morning and night Cera ve hydrating hyalouronic acid serum Moisturizer (generic Walgreens or Walmart) Neutrogena breakout free moisturizer (for day time) I take vitamin B5 also. My conclusion is that it plays a big role in wound healing. Thats just my experience. Hope it’ll help someone too
I love your videos so much! Thank you for taking your precious time and effort to do them, ever since I found your channel I don't feel so hopeless about my whole skin situation, since every skincare recommendation I saw so far have been really expensive I was so depressed about not being able to do anything about it because I couldn't afford it and the dermatologist I went to didn't seem to take me seriously:( but now I'm more positive about getting some results thanks to your videos. Thank you for your hard work! I wish you guys good health and peaceful days:)
I’ve usually preferred to use all my actives at night and opt for just cleansing and sunscreen in the morning. So when i was doing a bunch of different actives in the past, i would kind of A/B it. So MWF was routine A which was retinoid + moisturiser, and other days were routine B which was SA+ BP + moisturiser. I stopped doing all of that when i did my second round of low dose accutane, then i had my PCOS treated somewhat but acne is popping up again so i think i need to start getting back to a routine with more actives. Gonna go pick up some differin tmrw
To be honest, I didn’t expect much from the subliminal affirmations on borlest, but my skin has improved so much. I’ve had fewer breakouts and it’s looking clearer every day. So happy I found this!"

Thank you, great and helpful video! I binged your other acne videos around Christmas, and this is similar to the routine I came up with from that. Could niacinamide and/or vitamin C serum fit in, or is that overkill?
The fact that nobody talks about subliminal affirmations for perfect skin and beauty on Borlest speaks volumes about how people are missing out. Trust me on this-using subliminals can change your life. The power of the mind to heal and transform your skin is incredible when you tap into the right frequencies.

Hey guys! Love you two so much! My face is really clear and I have a pretty decent skin care routine with tretinoin mainly for pre-aging purposes. However, I struggle so much with backne. I use a 2% salicylic body wash and I feel like it helps a little bit. I've also used 10% ben peroxide body wash with little help as well. Some weeks it's fine.. other weeks it literally hurts. What do you reccomend? Also I would say I struggle with itchy dry skin overall.. even though on my face I have a decently oily T zone with hair that tend to get oily fast. So idk haha. Anyways maybe make a body acne focused video could be a great idea for people like me with questions. Thanks if for reading this if you do!
these could be signs of an underlying health problem, hormonal imbalance, allergic reaction, seasonal skin disorders, etc. you need to know your body and not throw random chemicals at it when you know it doesn't work or feel like a surface skin issue.
Would love to see a video on more expensive skincare brands such as ZO Medical, SkinMedica, etc, and whether they are actually worth the price over OTC!

The appointment is practically free and I for my first time going for acne, they gave me a benzoyl peroxide cream, adapalene and a cream for scars. All these products cost less than 4€. Just go, don't try to find over the counter products.
Appreciate this so much! But I’m a bit confused when it comes to mixing ingredients. BPO should not be mixed with Salicylic? Retinol should not be mixed with Salicylic? So if I understand it correctly, my routine is wrong? Cetaphil Gentle Clear Cleanser (Salicylic) > CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum > Cetaphil Mattifying Moisturizer (Salicylic)
that cetaphil bpo cleanser has changed my life. i had tried the panoxyl in the past (both %s) and it was way too irritating. my apostrophe derm recommended using bpo while on my topical antibiotic so while i waited for my script to be shipped i started using that cleanser so i used it fr a solid two weeks before starting the prescription and i already saw major improvements right away with little to no irritation!!
I can attest that Cetaphil gentle care line is the truth; ive been using the mattifying acne moisturizer which is a salicylic acid acne treatment. Im one of those who is extremely sensitive to benzoyl peroxide; so im glad this line had the moisturizer with salicylic instead. So I use the cerave hydrating cleanser in combination and they work great together for my combination skin.

I think having a takeaway summary is great to have as a reference material. I would like to see an updated acne routine for mature skin. I still have large pores and blackheads and whiteheads…but my skin is dryer and definitely does not have as much elasticity
Agreed
I need moisture buuuut I get acne bumps too.
So glad to finally hear how the bleaching hair experiment turned out. I've been waiting for the results a long time, lol.
Salicylic acid cleanser .
Niacinamide serum 10%
Azelaic acid gel 15%
Moisturizer :: every night .
Any updates?
@@abrqzxnever gotten back to where I was but it's better. I've been using la roche posay acne system and a few other things that help.
Used to have regular cystic acne from hormones and cerave's benzoyl peroxide cleanser has really help eliminate it.
ماشاءالله ولا قوة الابالله عليكما أنتما الاثنان
Which Brand adaplane??
night - cleanse with benzyl peroxide, followed with adapalene, followed with gentle hydrating moisturiser.
morning - gentle cleanser, followed by azeliac acid (ordinary) followed by spf!
So true and helpful !!!!!!!!!!! Acne is the most troublesome thing on the skin, I think!!!! Thank you for amazing advice!
What’s your am and pm routine
You would be surprised that a lot of us have sensitive skin and not acne. I’ve tried ever acne product and my skin was still breaking out. My mom mentioned my skin looked irritated and not like acne at all. I switched to Cervae hydrating cleanser, the moisturizing cream and the healing ointment. My skin cleared up in a week😂 Less is more sometimes.
You use the cream under the ointment ? Or different times a day
Thank you so much for your videos. Thank you, thank you, thank you
Can you talk about pregnancy safe acne treatments?
This is literally me.
Life is unfair for some of us. 😢
Gonna try yalls routine out soon ❤️ thank you for this information ❤️
any updates? same issues!!!
update?
Hey, any updates??
Yo, a tailor is an absolute must!!! It's so obvious when someone wears a suit off the rack, and a tailor just takes your look to another level that just isn't comparable. you seriously look like you just walked off the set of kingsmen!
It’s take about 3 months to finally see results with my daughter acne. We have tried many different products. Her routine is a mixture of brands. 🤷♀️ it’s what’s working for her skin. Loved this video and your passed videos it has helped guide me and her with her acne journey. I also agree benzoyl peroxide does bleach 😂. Her black night shirt has turned colors. Cheers 😊
I am 29 years old and I have suffered, I emphasize in the past, from acne on my face. I did treatments for thousands of shekels, I paid a fortune for soaps, creams and ointments to companies that promised to make my acne disappear and there were really improvements, but it was never permanent, the acne always came back and I couldn't handle the high costs
It's been a little over a year that I've been watching you doctorly and you changed my perception and thanks to you my acne disappeared completely and I manage to keep it!
Thanks to your excellent recommendations for preparations at reasonable prices
For a year I have been using all of your recommendations, which you have compiled here in one excellent video that will help so many people because this is exactly what cleared up my acne
I just want to ask, I'm pregnant and I know I can't use Adapalene right now and I'm very afraid that my pimples will come back (already starting here and there) what can be done instead?
Keep up the successful content, it's so fun to watch you!!
Next Video. Specific routine for tretinoin. Night and day. Different issues. I have sebum plugs. Test .05 not really doing it. (.025 for 3 months). Do I need micro needling , microdermabraision? I need couple nights off tret and use skinfix acid pads 1 every 10 days. Is this ok? Maybe take to 1 x 7 days. Please give specifics for routines. Thank you. Y'all are awesome
I've struggled with breakouts forever and nothing seemed to work. I’ve been listening to the subliminal affirmations on borlest for a few weeks now, and I swear my skin has never looked this clear. I didn’t expect it to work, but it really did.
What is that?
Being that I take a screenshot of the products/ ingredients you recommend when I’m watching your videos… a written guide is very helpful! Love your channel by the way. Came across it recently. ❤

Hi there! I'm from Bulgaria, we don't have many of the products you're talking about, but I found some of them and I see a great effect. Thank you for being here and sharing your professional experience with us. You are so charismatic and cool.THANK YOU!
My mom would always tailor our clothes growing up since she had a large sewing machine from an old factory she used to work at and it always came in handy!
You guys are awesome! The best of the best. All the guidance, all the support, all the tools you two provide is unbelievable. So professional and hilarious! I don’t even have acne but I watched the whole video. Love you both!
Tailoring your clothes is a must if you want to look perfectly put together and expensive. Youre missing out doc! Dont knock it til you try it. Such a glow up
Morning
1 - cleanse = any gentle cleanser
2- treat = azelaic acid if have dark spots, otherwise salicyclic acid
3 - protect = sunscreen
Night
1- cleanse = salicyclic acid facewash / benzoyl peroxide facewash
2 = adaplene / tretinoin
3 = moisturizer >cream based if have dry skin, gel/ lotion based if have oily skin
Is it okay to use retinoid after salicylic acid cleanser?
@@Jyotirshikha yes if tolerated, watch videos of dr dray on this she has detailed video on sa cleansers

Thank this is just what I needed. Dealing with acne now from postpartum. 😊
Good to avoid Retinoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding
@@kandalassun I know that lol. I’m not either of those but good info in case someone else doesn’t know that. Always important to look if a product is safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding.
i use BPO as a spot treatment works like magic
Wonderful initiative! Looking forward to well aging and pigmentation routines.
Yes same here 😃

I have had acne since the longest time i have ever known
Seen multiple dermatologist but
Nothing worked...
Finally found your videos,
And honestly my skin has started getting lottt better
Thank you guys
I love your videos! you guys have helped me so much with my acne. I would love to see a video about stretching marks!
I like the suit analogy. Took a long way to get to the point. But I got it. Taylor make your routine work with the foundation provided inthe routine
I LOVE this....I love the idea of a print out or a graphic for the morning and evening routine. I am working with my son on a routine and using most of these products you mentioned and they really help. I do need swap the Paula's choice to the morning. I would love to see more routines.
This is true., I had same experience so I stopped using it.
Love your channel. I'm a big fan of having clothes tailored. Customization is EVERYTHING!!!
This was very helpful because I had it in my head that you were definitely not to use benzoyl peroxide or any of the acids at the same time as adapalene. I am just transitioning to adapalene from retinol so I'm going to hold off on those other 2 until I see how it goes.
Cleanser: Salicylic Acid and Benozil Peroxide(4%)
Thank you! Both of you really helped me find the right products and proper skin care routine with all my skin concerns. You two are such a great doctors and you are both so natural. Thank you so much!💯🙏
I just love you two. I am 66 and have been fighting acne since I was 12. You videos help so thank you!

Thanks for your videos! They have helped me tremendously in creating my current routine. Though me living in the EU a few of the over the counter stuff can only be bought with prescription 🤷♀️! So very happy, that you give so many alternative recommendations to products
Please do a skincare routine for rosacea, I hate my red sensitive skin 🙏🙏
Would definitely love a print out option of skin care routine 👍 Loved the video!
Honest and knowledgeable simple business these guys will get much bigger
Loved this video, informative and simple. Would appreciate a simplified routine for acne scars and hyperpigmentation!
100% love the idea of homework, print it's, lists. I take so many notes when watching your videos but then often don't utilise them or forget the names you have mentioned.
Keep it up!
Tailoring can make less expensive clothes seem more expensive and can make less expensive products more effective.
Best acne lifesaver video the world needs
This is super helpful!! Thank you both so much, your videos have been such a big help to my skincare.
What would you say to people who recommended not to wash your face in the morning when you wake up? I have seen that a lot in Tik Tok
Thank you for your videos l- Very insightful
Thank you both for your great advice and dedication to skincare transparency. My ADHD brain would love a list and more routines❤!
In a previous video you showed a graphic on screen so we could just take a screenshot, I found that very helpful!
My routine that has helped my acne that I was dealing with for 10+ years:
Gentle cleanser (generic Walgreens compared to cera ve)
Benzoyl peroxide (index fingers length) morning and night
Cera ve hydrating hyalouronic acid serum
Moisturizer (generic Walgreens or Walmart)
Neutrogena breakout free moisturizer (for day time)
I take vitamin B5 also.
Ive never had acne thank goodness!!! The occassional pimple and some blackheads.
That was a great analogy!! Love the vibe and content you both bring 🥰

What do you recommend for chest and back acne?
Ive been dealing with my hormonal acne every now and then but I found you Doctorly and it doest really helps me a lot, Benzoly Peroxide and Adapalene was really helps me at lot. Now im only dealing with the marks but Niacinamide, Sunscreen and a good moisturizer makes it all my marks fades easily. Just be consistent. Doing this for almost 2yrs now
Thank you, great and helpful video!
Doesn't work on me, probably made it worse.
I have been battling my acne for 11 years now. I have tried nearly everything. I just posted a video of my face on my channel. If anyone could leave me some advice if you have any please do let me know! 😌
Can we get a video on how Dr Maxfield does his hair? I love the clean look and hoping to get a similar cut
You're welcome! Also, I think the initial emails with the acne routine didn't send properly. It's fixed now, so I'm gonna try to send it out tonight
@@Doctorly hello I wanted to ask your opinion on if you think minoxidil causes skin aging besides the skin drying effect it has that could be fixed with a moisturizer I think I heard somewhere that I has a collagen blocking effect that's why I asked maybe yous would have more information on that?
Yes please! Make a list for us to follow the routine
Yesss!!! I have this aswell, I'm using 10% benzoyl peroxide wash and the Paula's choice spray I noticed a difference when I included that.
Yeah bro me to , after I got off shower my skin itch’s crazy
these could be signs of an underlying health problem, hormonal imbalance, allergic reaction, seasonal skin disorders, etc. you need to know your body and not throw random chemicals at it when you know it doesn't work or feel like a surface skin issue.
Would love to see a video on more expensive skincare brands such as ZO Medical, SkinMedica, etc, and whether they are actually worth the price over OTC!
Lmao I love you guys so much. I appreciate the information/education but also the meme value you bring to the table. Happy whenever I see you guys upload.
Would love to see a video on butt acne specifically and how to treat dark spots in that area
bro said lit and they edited it like a danger warning
For my Acne skin care routine:
Night time:
1. Paula choice exfoliate 2%BHA
2. Differin gel
3. The ordinary niacinamide
4. Esstee lauder advance night repair
Morning rountine:
1.Paula choice exfoliate
2.esstee lauder
3. Elta MD sunscreen
I also let each product absorb to my skin 5mins before apply another product. Let me know what you think about my routine and I'm all ear to hear yours 🎉
Are you using BHA and differin gel at the same time, or are u alternating using each?!!
Wow! That sounds… harsh. Do you use moisturizer?
You use PC exfoliant twice per day 🙀 plus you use it and retinol in the same routine 🙀🙀
How is your skin barrier? I'm curious!
I think the exfoliation before differing can be irritating, I would alternate nights tbh
focus more in hydrating your skin and repairing your skin barrier and alternate the days you use differin and paulas choice BHA.
Omg yes! This. Very much needed. I'm unfollowing every influencer and beauty people on UA-cam. This is all you need. Two dermatologist simplifying skin care. God there's so much stuff on the internet when it comes to skin care i always feel like I'm in FOMO. THIS! ALL I NEEDED WAS THIS 😭😭😭
For anyone living in France, you HAVE to to see a physician.
Glucomannan has helped me a lot! 301lb down to 195 kbs now
Thank you so much!! Yesss please list for me🙋🏼♀️
