I’ve been dealing with acne for 10 years and NOTHING has helped. I created my perfect acne routine based on all your videos, I’ve been consisted for a month & 1/2 and I’m already seeing so much improvement😌❤️! Thank you thank you so much!

@@2tr6dinquwjos sure:) so in the morning I kept it simple. I started by using a gentle cleanser (I use the cerave hydrating cream-to-foam cleanser) , then moisturizer and then spf(La roche possay tinted mineral sunscreen) . At night I use the same cleanser then Differin Adapeline gel, then moisturizer.

@@2tr6dinquwjos and I’ve followed all of Dr.Shah’s and Dr.Maxfield tips. So the first month I did the adapeline gel every 3rd night, now I’m doing it every other night and next month I will do it everyday. Im also on the hunt for a good/gentle oil cleanser so I can start to double cleanse at night. I’m not sure how your skin is but mine is very sensitive and it gets easily irritated ,so when I tried creating a skin care routine in the past I introduced too many active ingredients too quickly(I used a benzyl peroxide cleanser and the adapeline gel and my skin got HORRIBLE😭)The biggest thing that has helped me this time is to keep it simple and slowly introduce actives. In 2 weeks I will introduce salicylic acid exfoliant . I hope this helped🫶🏼 the biggest thing it to be consistent and be patient. Results take time😄

Earlier my facial skin looked dull all the time, even upon waking. But following I did some research and made some adjustments, my face started glowing within a short span of weeks. Here's what I did: I consumed a proper diet that included items such as lentils, roti, green vegetables, and rice. This assisted nourish my body from the inside. I applied a face wash with the right pH level and had black rice water. I chose the Litleeextra riceberrry face wash, and it worked wonders for my skin.
I formed it a habit to drink a minimum of 2 liters of water daily.
I engaged in physical activity on a daily basis, which made me sweating and removed impurities out of my body.

100% agree on the adapalene gel! If nothing else, this single ingredient was a total game changer to my routine. I hardly ever write comments but I just had to. I want to thank you both, I have struggled with bad acne since I was on a birth control injection called Depo (please do not use this method of birth control, it may be easy to just get a injection every so often but it WILL ruin your skin and health!!) now that I’ve been on regular pill birth control for a few years my acne stopped being so aggressive. However, I was left with the worst scars, I was so self conscious. I’ve tried everything but nothing seemed to work to stop the minor acne and get rid of the scars. I’ve been to the dermatologist nothing they did helped and I couldn’t afford to keep going as I have other things going on health wise. So I kind of gave up on my skin and accepted the deep, dark scars and minor painful acne spots. That was until I stumbled across your videos and found this one in particular. I started using the products recommended and it was insane the results I got. I literally almost cried when I realized my face hasn’t been this clear since I was in 8th grade. I’m so incredibly happy, I really began to think it was impossible for my skin to look good again. Thank you again for giving those who may not be able to see a dermatologist/esthetician educated guidance. You guys are saints I swear!!!

This was my routine (5 months ago) before I went to a derm resident:
    Day skincare routine:
    1. Normal face wash (I think it was aveeno acne and Laroche posay hydrating one)
    2. De la cruz acne treatment (sulfur)
    2. Faded by topicals cream
    4. Cerave lotion
    5. Sunscreen + sun visor (when going out)
    Night skincare routine:
    1. Normal face wash/double cleanse
    2. Face theory azelaic acid (10%)
    3. Differin gel
    4. Cerave lotion
    UPDATED: (Started 01/05/2023)
    Day skincare routine:
    1. Laroche/ BP (every other day) cleanser
    2. Clindamycin
    3. Metronidazole
    4. Cerave lotion
    5. Sunscreen (Elta MD/BOJ/Cetaphil)+ sun visor
    Night skincare routine:
    1. Normal face wash/double cleanse
    2. Clindamycin
    3. Face theory azelaic acid (10%)
    4. Tretinoin (0.025%)
    5. Cerave lotion
Note: At first I used Benzoyl Peroxide (BP) 2.5% leave on from Paula's Choice that i had been using it fine (it was irritating a lil at first especially when I newly started using 2.5% from neutrogena it was years ago but they discontinued it so I bought the PC one) UNTIL I was like I want faster results and started using BP leave on with adapalene for a week I think (TOO IRRITATING), so I switched to using adapalene one day and BP one day (leave on) I think my skin barrier was really damaged so had to take a few days off and stuff until I could easily use adapalene everyday. I don't think I continued with BP. Later after a month or so I bought panoxyl 4%, started using it everyday for 3 days and it dried my skin out so I backed out and honestly didn't use as much as I could've.
I did see a difference with my first skincare routine, my acne/ rosacea burden was reduced and my skin became SMOOTH..I still did get pimples but not as much as I used to.
Then I went to a derm resident doctor got prescription tretinoin 0.025%, clindamycin, and metronidazole prescribed, and I have been religiously using my routine everyday...it's been a month and I do see my pimples got significantly reduced (was not breaking out almost at all) but I just got 3 pimples 2 days ago lmaoo I think because my cycle is very close. I do still get random redness I think because of rosacea. I also have broken capillaries under my eyes, sides of the nose, and cheeks. I am thinking of saving money and getting Vbeam laser in future hehe.
Anyways imma try this routine that I created with prescribed stuff for 3 months and see the results.
P.S. I went to a resident derm because I have medicaid and it covered the doctor's fee and I got all my prescription topicals for FREE. Plus an attending doctor also examined a lil. I have also always documented my acne/rosacea journey since 6 years ago loll, and I had some severe pics of my face from some months or a year ago that I showed them as well. The derm did say I know a lot about medicine hehe and that I am using the right stuff, and I can continue using them, but I have removed the sulfur for now since this new routine also has a lot of actives in it. I think adapalene made me strong enough to use tretinoin everyday now. I recently added faded topicals back in my morning routine.

Adapalene did transform my skin for the best, especially in terms of texture and brightness. Saw a massive difference within the first year of use. Also helped me get rid of big angry hormonal pimples. However, I do still break out - spots looks smaller and tend to go away quicker - but still leave red marks which last forever. I don't find it particularly drying anymore, however even applied over a moisturiser I think it disrupts my skin barrier quite a bit (I use no other actives really)

But my boyfriend and family say they see such an improvement. And I do to!! My skin complex has brightened as well! @@tabbathaskye9661consistent, ongoing acne in the lower face and upper neck area like yours may be due to hormonal imbalance, food intolerance, and/or other underlying issues. still getting pimples is an indication that you haven't addressed what is actually wrong. applying chemicals externally may reduce the surface symptoms, but you are not treating the disorder causing acne in the first place.

I have suffered with acne for 30 years with severe face, neck, back, and chest. Skin routine does help, but you need to address internal issues first. I was on Accutane twice for six months both times with a double pill dosage and it drastically reduced my acne. Until my late 40s, I changed my diet and this helped dramatically. No sugar, no dairy, no fast food, reduce and eat better carbs. Basically, if you eat crap then you are going to look like it. I also incorporated intermittent fasting. This may not work for everyone, but it helped me. I added a skin routine after this change and now my skin is under control.

I’m not sure if you’ll see this comment, but I just downloaded the acne routine you guys left in your bio!
You asked and I’ll gladly answer: this video is SUPER helpful as someone who has suffered greatly from acne for almost 10 years, particularly because I can’t see my dermatologist as frequently as I’d like to.
With how many simple (but very important) questions I always have about the order in which I should be applying products, and also just making sure I won’t cause any unnecessary irritation and inflammation (or extra dryness, either), it really helps to have a channel like this one where actually licensed professionals give advice on topics like prevention treatments and daily vs nightly routines (with a little wiggle room and variation in them, because as you said, everybody’s skin is different).
Thank you so much for helping me work with my skin instead of fighting it, and for helping me overcome my anxiety and indecisiveness along with improving my self-confidence, as well. I’m SO glad you’re both here, and I hope you truly understand what an immensely positive impact you have on all of us every time you take the time to create and post content :).

I am 50 now, still using it. Yes, since the age of 3, when my mom started this on me thanks to our internist. If there is one constant in my skincare, it is that blue tin. I use a 2% salicylic body wash and I feel like it helps a little bit. I've also used 10% ben peroxide body wash with little help as well. Some weeks it's fine.. other weeks it literally hurts. What do you reccomend? Also I would say I struggle with itchy dry skin overall.. even though on my face I have a decently oily T zone with hair that tend to get oily fast. So idk haha. I can't remember which video I've seen on your skin care advice so I'll just write it here 😂 I had a severe acne problem with acne scars all over my cheeks. I couldn't get a dermatologist to check it out because the next possible appointment would be in a year... I bought products based on your advice for different skin issues and I've been using them since 2 months now. Just today I have quite realised how much better my skin has become. Instead of more than 8 pimples on my face everyday there may be just one every 3 days. The blackheads on my nose and cheeks are getting so small it's barely noticeable and the big pores I had are turning the same. The redness is less and the ascne scars are the only issue remaining, but I feel more confident than ever. Today is my graduation day and I feel confident to be on photos taken there!
I am thankful that people like you are out there giving professional advice to people all over the world explaining what could work and couldn't. You're amazing and I am inexpressable thankful for every recommendation you're giving.
