    The most important aspect of a pw nozzle is the orifice size. THIS is what lowers or raises pressure. Example: A 4 gallon per minute (gpm) machine that puts out 3500 psi. Match the gpm and orifice size to get the full psi of the pump. Lower the pressure by increasing orifice size in .5 increments. Example: A green 25 degree tip producing maximum pressure will be numbered 2504 (25-degree, 4 nozzle size) A 4.5 would decrease the pressure, a 5 even more. There are charts that have the gpm, psi, nozzle size laid out. And of course, a pressure gauge would let you see and feel the difference.
    Pro Pw contractors hardly ever ( never really) use all the psi their pump puts out. It's too much for most cleaning scenarios. Even concrete (residential). And last but not least, It reduces strain and fatigue on the body.

    This worked great with my Honda 2600 psi Pressure washer ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP , it came with two different size adapters, and tread tape so you're ready to go. I used it on my sidewalk that was getting dark and it worked great with no sprayer streaks. Just back and forth, really easy and way better than the spray adapters that came with my Pressure washer.

    I noticed a bunch of "should I use this one or that one" questions in the comments. Buy all of the tips, they're really cheap (the turbo nozzles are more expensive, but even they're $40). Always start with the widest angle for stuff that you don't want to damage (like your car!) and work your way down if the first one doesn't work. I made the mistake of hitting my 1 year old Explorer with too narrow a tip and it left marks all over the car - it was the top coat getting destroyed. Luckily I was able to polish it out, but hopefully you won't have to go through that

    I guess the green or white one would be good for chair seats and office chairs? I have been wanting to take out my car seats and clean them good as well as a fabric office chair that is really good condition just dirty.

    what tip is best to blast weeds growing between brick floors?

    • @vortexxpressurewashers7861
      @vortexxpressurewashers7861  Рік тому +1

      Hello Lew,
      Generally, it is not recommended to blast weeds from brick pavers since the risk of damaging your brick, or removing joint sand between the bricks is so high. You can certainly clean the brick, using low pressure (800-1000psi), but you want to avoid spraying directly between the bricks.
      For other cracks such as those in your driveway, or sidewalk, a 15° nozzle should do the trick, but I would highly suggest another method for the weeds in the pavers, such as a torch, or boiling water.

    Rotary, turbo Nozzles come in a variety of specs. GPM 2.0-4.0 with .5 gallon increments. There is an orifice size and a PSI rating. Which one do I choose to wash a concrete walkway? FYI I have a 1600 PSI 1.2 GPM electric pressure washer.

    • @vortexxpressurewashers7861
      @vortexxpressurewashers7861  5 років тому +1

      To get the best performance out of your unit, you will want to match the nozzle specs to that of the unit.
      You should not change the orifice size of your nozzles to increase pressure as this can put to much strain on the engine. Looking at their specs of 1600psi @ 1.2 gpm, a 2.0 to 2.5 orifice nozzle is best suited for their unit. But that does not mean it is going to be great at cleaning cement. 1600psi is just not enough to get a good deep clean on concrete.

    • @toddluns1
      @toddluns1 5 років тому +1

      Turbo nozzles are almost useless. Too much wasted time.... just use your surface cleaner and 700psi is plenty to clean concrete....I never go any higher than 800-1000....

    I have a karcher K4 and to activate the soap I have to twist the end nozzle of the gun,
    I want to buy a metal Lance with the 5 adaptors 0-15-25-40-and the black one
    With the black nozzle connector does that activate the soap by just connecting it on the Lance ?
    Thanks

    • @toddluns1

      Yes the black soap nozzle is the best for applying soap. I often use only 450-500 psi and it does the job......

    Would a 3.5 tip put out more pressure than a 4.0 tip on a 4000 psi machine? For me to lower pressure I’d have to go 4.0-6.0 tips

    • @vortexxpressurewashers7861
      @vortexxpressurewashers7861  4 роки тому +2

      Correct.
      A smaller nozzle size will give you more pressure, but less GPM
      A larger nozzle size will give you more flow, but less pressure.

    i bought new pressure washer for 2800PSI at 1.8 GPM, i want to pressure to stay under 1900PSI to be safe for my car, what nozzle do i need to reduce the PSI?

    • @vortexxpressurewashers7861
      @vortexxpressurewashers7861  4 роки тому +1

      The spray pattern (or different color nozzles) will not reduce or increase the pressure of your unit, rather disperses that pressure over a greater area. A 40° (usually white) nozzle should work just fine. Just make sure to keep the nozzle tip 8" or further from your car. To reduce the pressure for that unit, you would want to get a nozzle with a larger orifice size. I would estimate a 3.0 orifice size could be the one to use, but it is best to check using a pressure gauge.

    Hi, my son is letting me borrow his PW, I bought a set of nozzles. I want to clean my driveway. The PW is a Greeworks 13 Amp 1700 PSI 1.2GPM Electric. Should I use the Yellow or Green nozzle? I'm thinking green? Thanks for your reply.

    • @vortexxpressurewashers7861
      @vortexxpressurewashers7861  4 роки тому +1

      The Yellow nozzle will give you a deeper clean, but will cover less surface area.
      No nozzle at that pressure will damage the cement.

    • @vortexxpressurewashers7861
      @vortexxpressurewashers7861  4 місяці тому

      If your nozzle is having trouble locking into the quick connect on your lance, you may have a bad quick connect, or it may need to be cleaned so it functions properly. Sometimes minerals/rust build up on the quick connection can keep it from fully locking into the forward position. You can soak the quick connect in CLR to help break down any mineral build up and clean it with a wire brush by pulling the collar back and scrubbing the bearings with a brush.
