I cannot wait to see "Rocky" Simon! You have such a brilliant attitude of strength and endurance in your chess games. So I have great excitement to see how that strength manifests, while you endure those commitments that you mentioned, throughout the year. You can know that thousands of viewers will be enduring their own challenges, and you may give great inspiration! We'll be rooting all the way :)
One more subscriber! ;O) Saw your match against JB: Two different styles clashing! GREAT stuff! Happy new year to you too! You're for sure inspiring with a little "punk" added to our lovely game!
I'd love to see you play e4. first move, openings like the ruy, Evans gambit, etc. And longer time controls, also playing with us the subscribers would be amazing, and perhaps doing a random draw of an individual to analyse their game of choice! That said, Happy New Years Simon!!!
Happy new year everybody !!! Keep playing Simon ! Most of your videos are really enjoyables ! Thanks a lot ! Hope the best for you and friends for the upcoming year !
Great Video! Thanks for all the content!! Some suggestions: BUGHOUSE, Other Variants, Tactics, 5 min/10 min Games with Danny Rensch... But I appreciate anything you post!
more of Simon...fun video. getting in shape is priceless....find a way to make your training fun, i suggest the rope jumping and various bag work, i do not suggest getting your flipping brain scrambled in "sparring sessions". :/\ my new years new years suggestion for you. as far as content on your chess site, maybe a few post mortems after some of your matches, i appreciate your chess mind and learn much from other streamers when they do the same... and how about a self produced "Simon's Bloody Banter Blitz" on twitch, or chess.com, etc. you'd kill it... all the best to you in the new year dude.
Very enjoyable video once again, thanks a lot! I have a small suggestion maybe that I've been thinking about lately concerning your 'rule' of quitting after losing two games. I like that it puts something on the table and I really do cheer for you a bit more because I like watching you play. However, that rule does mean that pretty much every video of yours ends on a bit of a downer. Especially since you're clearly an emotional player that lets the outcome of the game affect your temper (which I find so amusing). But purely from a video-making perspective I think you'd want to go out on a high, and end the video with a bit of positivity. So maybe adjust the rule to losing two games, and then playing on to winning at least one more or something like that? Dunno if that should be it but you get the point.
Thanks for the New Year's Day chess, Simon! With regards to that last London game, I think you definitely lost the initiative by not playing g4 sooner.
Great defensive masterpiece! )) You play better under pressure )) Probably you have your own mr. Hyde who looks like Karjakin )) Wish you to get some glorious victoiries in new year. Seems that your experience in London was quite good, if I don't mess, you had the same amount of points as David Howell until last round. So why not try yo achieve something more? ) As for me I hope to return to my ballet classes this year ))
Go chessboxing, my friend! Should be fun, and as I see you like boxing, why not? :-) I already started diet and walking to lose weight. Happy new year, great Ginger GM! And keep posting your amazing videos. :-)
Greetings from your boy J L!! You will make at least 25k subs this year my brotha!! I really enjoy how you play and think in Chess. Great mentor you are!! Can I have you to look at the greatest Harry the h pawn the barbarian? Where to send PGN? Lmk thanks
just a suggestion for time trouble, Simon -- make many pre-moves for one move, chess.com allows max 8 I think. Preferably with your king to get out of checks, if you get what Im trying to say.
I gave some thoughts on what areas I'd like to see you cover in terms of this forum and your potential product for sale. First DON'T pander to intermediate or beginners in terms of covering their flawed games. My first idea is since you aren't active at top level tournaments is to pick out a up and coming player whose style you admire and follow him for a few tournaments as he strives to carve out a place ( or maintain ) in chess elite. Breakdown his pet openings in terms of ideas that we beginner - intermediate -advanced can utilize when possible. Something similar to what you do already with GM analysis. Maybe it's a young lion , maybe it's a seasoned veteran( Ivanchuck?). I'd gladly subscribe or buy vids to this effect. My 2nd idea is you hearken back to your chess heroes ( something like Korchnoi tribute you did when he passed ) and show us how they revved you up to achieve your status and perhaps even include a partial/whole game or games of yours where you utilized the fruit of this study. 3rd ( and last ) idea is to make your analysis tournament specific in terms of picking out a player who for that one tournament plays with ferocious spirit that you show and have shown us in your games. Maybe even crossover into women's tournaments when mood strikes you as a very fair amount of your fans are of opposite sex.
lots of fun. :) Idea: can you see if you can get a game against the giraffe or new giraffe neural net chessprogramming.wikispaces.com/Giraffe Apparently it's only IM but it learned to play in 72 hrs. Obviously it will be a strong player but I'd like to hear what you think about it's style compared to a standard programmed engine like stockfish. does it seem more human? Also standard things that come up a lot. like a few/3 porns in a line or diagonal vs same from opponent. How do you decide where to push? And when? to leave pressure for them to push? Particularly in the endgame when a pawn in the right place is decisive.
loling at first game where you had the effrontry to keep playing in contest I would have resigned 10 times over & then you WON by guts and time chicanery. I'd been the other player , I would suspect you of being able to bend the clock to your will. It gets no better 4 us fans. Btw I want to do BORING yoga 5x a week to rejuvenate chess poweress like Korchnoi in 2017 & get multiple ginger gm vids.
I'm telling you, if you want to get your subs up, stop with these random ass sessions and do chess storymode... declare a concrete goal, and let the audience take the journey with you, give them detailed stats and graphs and what not... no one on the Internet has a channel like that... well they do, but they are bodybuilding channels.
Never delete any of your videos... I don't mind whether they have audio or visuals or both.. I just enjoy anything of GingerGM!
Yes, analyzing games (played by average and beginners) would be really helpful. I totally support that.
Happy Bloody New Year! put that in your pipe and smoke it! Hope you have a Great 2017 👍👍👍💪💪💪👊👊👊♙♘♗♖♕♔♚♛♜♝♞♟

Happy new year Simon!
Happy New Year Simon!
I'd like some analysis of good club level games, if possible, Simon. Perhaps 180-ish strength?
Simon, could you do some more challenge videos? That one video where you had to checkmate with a pawn was amazing
Happy New Year Grand Master Simon Williams
happy new year! 11111 subscribers at the start of the year!

Now it has sound! Happy New Year !!
happy New Years Simon
I have a question about the London System and the Dutch, will you maybe one day make a repertoire on any of those on Chessable?

Simon I'd love videos on how to progress from a 1400 rating to around 1800
Happy new year, simon! WHEN ON EARTH ARE YOU GOING TO TO THE LONDON SYSTEM VIDEO !!!????
New years res: Beat Rensch and Bartholomew in blitz battles. Run a six-minute mile. And whale music. You can do it!
Happy New Year !!
Go chessboxing, my friend! Should be fun, and as I see you like boxing, why not? :-) I already started diet and walking to lose weight. Happy new year, great Ginger GM! And keep posting your amazing videos. :-)

Sound worked ;)
lmao never in doubt. the comebacks are tom bradyesque
simon, simul against sub 2000 would be great
Ministry of Defense GingerGM :D
Simon, in addition to longer time games, why not play some bullet games? You say that is your weakest time control.....only one way to improve, right?
Nice job, Simon
you should play some blitz games with increment
just a suggestion for time trouble, Simon -- make many pre-moves for one move, chess.com allows max 8 I think. Preferably with your king to get out of checks, if you get what Im trying to say.
I'd love to see you play vs the elite GMs. I'm sure they'd respond to your invitation providing you let them win a few games!
Happy new Year Simon!! Can you play any game with the english opening?
New Years resolution is to get to 1600 rating
I really like your video's, thank you! My subscription to your channel brings you 1 closer to your 20K goal for the year.

20:27 why doesnt white play g5 ?
My NYR resolution is not to kill myself
Simon you should take that other video without sound, and let Fiona dub over it whatever she thinks might be funny. Just a thought...
Dude, I expected Champagne and streamers. I am annoyed. Up Your Game.
