I'm very new to the graphic design world. I'm starting school this fall. I'm not the best artist but I always been interested I'm how websites are made and I love colors💛
That's wonderful, Ava! It's okay if you don't know everything about graphic design. You can still learn the skills/techniques once you start your classes. As long as you have passion and willingness to learn you'll be okay. Hope this helps and best of luck starting school!

2 years pass how u doing?
How are you doing now? What would you say is the most important thing to know beforehand and now that you’ve been at it for two years?
I recently started in my graphic design program in college and haven’t found any videos really explaining what jobs to expect out of school. This video was exactly what I’ve been looking for! Thanks so much!
Of course Dakota! So glad this was helpful.

I've seen a number of jobs the are looking for people with both retail / graphic design experience.
As a graphic designer for over 22 years now, I can absolutely say that MOST employers expect you (as a graphic designer) to know how to do ALL of THESE jobs. Just check any recent job posting for a "graphic designer". It's so broad, and they think you should and can DO IT ALL. In this career choice-more than most-you are expected to know it all. It's very hard to specialize.
Love it! Great video! You were always the best artist in school! Can’t wait to see more from your channel
Taylor Nuzzolo thank you so much for supporting me! I really appreciate that! You’re so talented as well!!! Hope that you’re doing well and still creating❤️
LOVE the way we jumped into this!
teaching my middle school students an intro to graphic design and your video will definitely get them engaged and interested! Thank you!
Thanks for your informative video. I am aware of packaging and I have been designing rugs as a design student. I am applying for a job as a trainee/apprentice at the moment for a place that does fairly simple projects which I'm really looking forward to.
I'm studying graphic design at the moment and was wondering what my next step would be after getting my diploma. This video has given me some really good ideas to start off with, thank you so much!
Hi Jena! Thank you and I'm so glad that this video was helpful for you. Sure! I would say your first step would be preparing a design portfolio that showcases your best projects and also reflects the type of position that you're interested in pursuing (e.g. Be sure to show some web design projects if you want to become a web designer). Next, build connections and network if you can. This can just help the job search process if you have a network of people that can recommend you, send you job openings, or just point you in a certain direction. It also helps to join a design community (there are so many like AIGA, Ladies Get Paid, etc). Hope this helps! I would be happy to share more if you'd like or have a video on this topic. Let me know and best of luck!
@@thecreativejene9591 Thanks a million, you are a gem!
Just be prepared to spin the creative wheel inside your head. It''s a fun career choice.

I have been hopping from one of these career options to the next as an interest without even being conscious that they all fell under the same umbrella of graphic design! This video help put it all into perspective and made me feel validated like I’m on the right track. Thank you!
No problem Gabi! I’m so glad this was helpful for you. Yes, there are so many avenues in graphic design and I felt the same way. Stay inspired and know that there’s a lot you can do.

Hi Bria.. Great info that I can pass on to my students and possibly use your video. Since there are very few black women in the field of technology, school counselors are constantly looking for creative ways engage and spark interest in the field.
Thank you cousin Tasha! I’m glad that this was good information. Yes I agree, I definitely want to inspire more black students to become interested in the field. Let me know if you come across a student who has any questions! Thank you for supporting me❤️

Thanks a lot! The video is very helpful 😊
Informative. Thank you so much!
This was very useful 😊🙏
I have an Associates degree in Visual Arts. I am JUST now learning about graphic design and teaching myself. I'm not sure if graphic design is my "calling" but I do know for sure that it will have a major involvement with my success as an artist. I am completely out of work and am looking for a full time job in which I can be taught these skills from scratch. So my question basically is; do you know (or anyone else that my be reading this that doesn't mind helping me 😊) if there are graphic design jobs out there for complete beginners without the need for a graphic design degree? It would be incredible to find such a job, but I don't know if I qualify or if such a job exists.
i love your energy!
Thank you so much for this video. I have been going back and forth between an associate's in Computer Information System or Graphic Design and your video has convinced me to pursue the Graphic Design degree.
LadyJ, awe I'm so glad that this helped. Wishing you the best on your degree path. You got this!

I am a pastry chef. I went to school for culinary arts and baking and pastry but I always had a heart for graphic design for some reason
You should definitely think of learning graphic design, web design. Being able to back as well as handle the marketing will make you extremely valuable to local bakeries and restraunts.
Great video I want to go to college for graphic design soon this video is really helpful
lol i looooved the music and the dance you made in the beginning of the video.
Thank you so much, Ladislau André! :)
Like many of the people on this page I am new to Graphic Design. Everything I've learned about it I'm in love with so far. I'm only four months into my first year of college working on my graphic design bachelors degree. I love art and I love words. These things combined will be an amazing opportunity for me to delve into what I can really make. Thanks for breaking this field down a little bit for me. I've bookmarked this video to rewatch when I'm closer to the end of my studies. Hopefully by then I'll have a better idea which direction I will want to go and I think this video will be helpful then.
2years passed, how’s it going? I’m looking forward to pursue a career in it, would you advise me to still pursue it?
Amazing video ! Thank you !
Nathaly, thank you! I'm glad this helped.
I’ve been interested in graphic design since I was really young and I’ve put off college since I graduated high school because of the fear of job security and making a living. My local college offers a bachelor communications degree and I was wondering if that qualifies as the same thing? The description is telling me it is but I wanted to make sure I can find a job with that type of degree? Any feedback is greatly appreciated ❤️
This is great advice!!

hi! thanks for such great videos - I'm thinking of becoming a UX Designer, and am looking at either doing a degree route or online bootcamp, if I wanted to live and work in the UK one day what would you recommend I do? as I worry without a degree in design hiring managers won't accept my applications for jobs there! would you say I should rather do the degree route over a bootcamp - I have just finished high school overseas and plan to move to UK next year! would much appreciate nay advice you can give me!! thankyou :D
Does album art consider as graphic design too?
Your Laugh is So infectious!!!
Lovly u inspired me thanks a lot from Bangladesh
I am new in graphic design so can I start with my phone
I love drawing a lot, I draw a lot at a very young age. At first, I'm no good, but after growing up, I've improved a lot.
I then went beyond drawing and gave life to my drawings (cartoon and anime), and I got a lot better.
I recently do POD designs for shirts, which can be like, for instance, for cat shirts with a funny saying or a phase at the top of the design.
I'm kind of addicted now, and customers love my designs. I rarely animate.
I would love a job for that sort of thing, but where do you think I should look, and what do you think would be best for me?
I don't have degrees.
Thanks
Thanks:))) liked video a lot
Thanks!
You are so welcome, Senae!
I'm interested in this field, I'm really good at art and this is now my 3rd career choice🙄, do you have any advice?

Great content! I might have a question where to begin if I wanna pursue ui/ux design career?
It seems like this would be a great thing if only they wanted to get on the information superhighway.
A UI/UX bootcamp. I heard they’re the best way to get your certificate.

Thank you so much Stephanie! I'm so glad that this was helpful. Please let me know if you receive any other questions.
OMG I love the intro. xD
I am interested in Publication Designer. Can you teach me how to start ?
Hey Jene! Great video! I don't have a degree in graphic design, but I've been doing freelance for friends using Canva to design social media posts and videos. Is there a salary paid job that allows me to do that?
Hey Katherine! Thank you so much for watching and great question. There are quite a bit of social media related positions out there, in fact. Here are a few off the top of my head: A content creator, social media designer, social media coordinator or director, etc. I actually will be doing an updated "Types of Graphic Design Jobs" very soon so stay tuned! Many companies require that you have a degree of some form, but that really depends on the company on a case by case basis. Many times companies are looking for a person's experience for that particular position. So if you can show that you have skills/experience, this could help as well. Hope this helps and let me know if you'd like to discuss more!
This video was very informational thank you! I’m new to the technology career world and i’m trying to figure out which branches of technology I want to work in, Graphic Design is definitely one of them. And within Graphic Design I still want to do so many different aspects of it. I love animation, and making 3D models, I love product layout and logo design, so much more i’m interested in but haven’t tried yet. Thank you so much for this video lol.
Where are you based?
Great 👍
