I'll soon start my last year of high school and graphic design appears to be the right thing for me, so I'm researching all over the place to properly understand the job. This was quite helpful, thank you for this video
Thank you so much I was running in circles for months not knowing where to start because I'm starting college very soon and I really wanted to know more about graphic design before I actually go for it because I wasn't sure if this was the right thing for me but you opened doors! Thank you very much
I love graphic design and would do it for the rest of my life. My only fear is looking weird when I get old. My fear is feeling out of style or old in this industry. What do you think about growing old in this profession as a freelancer?
that is so funny, I never thought about it like that!! A couple answers for your creative question..I would say first that as you start to get a bit older, all of a sudden you just...stop caring what people think about you 😂 It's magical and liberating!! But also you made me realize what "keeps me young"...I teach! I learn so much from my students and they are much more in tune with what's "hip" 🤓 but I can help them build on the foundation of the traditional elements and principles in new and different ways...the designers of the future are on it, watch out!!
Hi Sonia! Thanks so much for watching-business courses would definitely help with your graphic design career, but they might not be 100% mandatory, depending on your program of study. I hope this helps! 🌿
@@Goxus95 Thanks for your questions. From my think, this is not difficult for a creative person. Yeah you are absolutely right, You always need to be creative to do work in this field. But this is not difficult as much, at the same time you should have creative mind and should love to work for designing. There are many rules to follow the design foundation. If anyone learn that in properly and follow he won't be afraid of that. Regards.
I want to have a succcesful career in art but I'm not sure how/and what I would do... people have told me to go into graphic design, but I love traditional art and the idea of digital art seems daunting
Hey I have a question, what device do you recommend for graphics design as I want to start but I want to know what device is best used for this, Thankyou ❤️
Great question! Do you mean type of computer? I would recommend a laptop/desktop over a tablet device if you’re serious about design! I’m actually a PC user over Mac, planning to make a video about why🌿
Yes absolutely! I think it’s essential for any designer these days to know how to build websites, even if you’re relying on easy visual builders like Shopify or Squarespace. But it’s also great to know a little bit of HTML and CSS code...and it’s not that hard to learn! If you really love websites you could learn higher levels of coding or other coding languages to build high end websites.🌿There are some great resources out there, I’ll out out a video with some suggestions. Thanks for watching!!
@@DelightfulThings Im asking this question because I want to know how to design graphics both for videos and websites, as well as design websites. I dont know if its a standard in design school to be taught html and css or if people that that as an extra.
It might not be a standard to learn html code in every design program, but I think it’s important to look for in a program of study. You will use different software and skills for motion video graphics than web design...it is possible to animate on websites with CSS though!
Can you make a video on the different types of graphic designers? I have always loved caliogprahy and I'm talented at drawing and creating art; but as a graphic designer do you actually get to create art? Or is it more of making things aesthetic to look at?
@@DelightfulThings I've been a lover of Art since I've been able to do it, I did it as one of my majors in Visual Arts, when I was in highschool, but their are times when the journey takes you to another course because in 🇯🇲 art really doesn't pay much steadily, so I had to find something else I wanted to do, hence social work but now that am Finnish, it just so happens that their offering the programme so I thought YES! @Delightful Things: This was a pretty decent video. Thank you for making and sharing it. If you haven't done so already, please make a video about: Is Graphic Designing for you?
Hey there, im graduating from highschool in about a year and for as far as i can remember ive always enjoyed art and drawings. I primarily draw characters and personalised art and i really want to get to go to a uni that supports my creative dream. For a while ive thought of graphic design but will it help me land a job in places like mihoyo where it specialises in their amazing character games? And if graphic design isnt the thing im hoping for what am i suppsed to look into? Fine arts? Game arts? Studio art? God im so confused
Hi and thanks for watching!! Where I am there are lots of options to build your foundation to enter the game industry. Think about the specific jobs in a game design company that you are most interested in…so you want to draw concepts for characters and environments? Maybe illustration or communication arts or even studio arts. Do you want to make things move and create the physics of a game? Maybe animation or programming. Do you want to help market the games or manage the game community? Maybe graphic design or creative advertising. Most jobs I think of in game development require a mix of talents! What are your strengths and interests, and what are the specific jobs that sign with your preferences? Hope this helps! 🌿
I wouldn’t worry about it! Most graphic design agencies enjoy projecting a creative ‘look’ so they probably won’t mind too much. Of course there are many corporate positions like in-house design where maybe they want a more traditional professionalism, but really I would say it depends on your employer. If you’re freelancing then it just depends on your clients…they’ll decide what they think and you’ll decide if you care what they think :) Also your pink hair is super cute!! 🌿
Do graphic-type content part of their responsibility? I am having some alphabet cards done back to back. The backside requires phrases or 1 or 2 sentences. Is this an infringement on the responsibility of a graphic designer?
Just ask your graphic designer! Most designers will ask for all your wording and content, but some may help you write or work with a writer to create content. Thanks for watching! 🌿
Yes absolutely! You can follow many different paths in graphic design, and if you like to create animations, you might think about learning motion graphics. Thanks for stopping by🌿
Hey ya'll, it's fine right it I can take being a graphic designer as my job, but also have cartooning/illustrating as a side hobby or freelance work right? I both want to create interesting designs for commericals, posters etc. And also want to draw various interesting characters on my own spare time I'm currently grade 10, and I'm already trying to see what job fits my creativity in the future.
Great question! A graphic designer is usually working with images, illustrations, and text in 2D format, or sometimes 3D animations like motion graphics. The word designer can describe lots of types of designers, including interior design, UX/UI design, furniture design, and more. A digital designer is primarily working on the computer, while a graphic designer might work by hand or on the computer, or a mix of both. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching 🌿
I want to buy graphics but it is for myself so I cannot hire a company. Do you do that or know anyone who does? Like I say what I need you make it I pay you. Or do you which platforms I should look on cause this is like looking for a designer in a haystack.

Yes it can be a challenge to find the right designer!! It is about much more than just what their portfolio looks like...it is also important to be able to communicate well with each other and enjoy working together. I would recommend reaching out to several people from Behance and set up some meet-and-greet conversations. Ask lots of questions (beyond just "what does it cost") and try to find someone that you "click" with. Hope this helps!! 🌿

The industry standard programs would be the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of programs (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc), but there are many free alternatives available. I’d recommend Canva if you are getting started and not ready to spend money on Adobe yet! Happy making 🌿
Hi Delsher! I’m not sure what you mean, but it is definitely possible to get an education for graphic design. There are online programs, community/local college, or full college degree programs. I hope this helps! 🌿

Hi, thank you for watching and commenting! Unfortunately I agree, the UA-cam format is not where you will learn deep graphic design skills and I would suggest a certificate or degree program to fully learn the process and skills of being a graphic designer. I am a full time professor of graphic design and I offer hours and hours of original content, but not on UA-cam.
