My 2013 has 300,000 no issues, still running good
I’ve driven my 2015 Altima to 170,000 miles with zero issues. Only oil changes and filters and a tube up once. She just keeps going and going. I’ve traveled across the country numerous times and she still performs perfect.
I assume by 2015 they had time to make the 2013 CVT better.
I’ve owned my 2013 for a little over 5 years now, never had 1 problem. Brought pre owed with 40,000 miles. Currently 148,000 and it’s a daily diver.

Currently a 17 year old and I bought my 2004 nissan last year for $900 (was listed for $1,600, but always try to negotiate.) still runs good and doesn’t look too bad. My grandfather is an automotive technician and works on it for free if anything comes up, not a bad deal imo.
I am using it since 2013 and now it's goes over 200k without any problems
The think you need to do is to keep changing the transmission fluid along with it's filters every 80k at most and it's better to make it every 60k and making sure that you put the genuine oil not some random markets

See all these Nissan Hate videos, it makes me laugh my 13 Altima SV running strong got 215K on the dash only thing I've replaced is the AC Compressor thats it. I drive my baby atleast 1,000 miles a week or more no problems 😊. People just don't know how to take care of cars, the main thing that causes so much car failure is Traffic sitting in traffic stopping and going especially in the summer time is not good for any car. Hope people stop bashing the Altima if you dont like it just don't own one.

I currently own a 2012 Nissan Altima, had it for almost a year, and I had no issues other than the axle boot leak on the passenger side (gotten that fixed a month ago) my last CVT fluid change was 2 months ago, so I'm good for another 30 to 60K, I heard rumors of people's CVT failing in the past, so that's why I'm taking real good care of mine, I'm already over 109K so I'm good, it really depends on how you take care of yours!
I've owned my 2015 Nissan Altima 2.5 S for 2 years now. Runs great! Always loved Nissan. Transmission is fine but it may be because I change my fluids every 25,000 to 28,000 miles. 🤗

@@jewelrylover2958 me and my wife just got one. 98,000 miles. 2015 2.5, dealership put a brand new transmission in it! 15k which was a little high but happy with it. rides smooth. it's not a fast car per say but gets to 75 easily and smooth and rides so good. ours was taken well care of we got the car fax all records of previous maintenance. The transmissions on these are what goes out. I think the one in the car had to have been going out for them to put the new one in. If it has good carfax and maintenance (not a rebuilt title never buy that) records. I'd say great car. roomy too!

I’ve had my 2016 Altima for 4 years now. It’s at 80k miles. No issues except for a O2 sensor that started going but I got that fixed myself easy. I changed the transmission fluid at 65k to be safe. Also tires and brakes, otherwise absolutely no problems.

I had 2014 Altima SL with 168K, no problems with the transmission ever or really anything else. I bought the car new and had all servicing done at my local Nissan dealer. Averaged 38mpg on the highway, great car! Just traded for a new 2022 Rogue, with yes, the 1.5L turbo. I know, new engine, blah, blah, blah. Drove the Rav and the Rogue blew the doors off it in terms of acceleration, comfort, infotainment and driving experience. Also, its averaging the same mpg as my Altima around town.
I have the 2013. Used it for 5 years now. 180kmiles (150k by me). I've been rough with that car. Zero issues. Drove it from Texas to Seattle and I took the longer routes. I've also gone from Seattle to Portland so many times I can't even count.

I own two 2010s Nissan. They both have CVT issues, both parked in my garage waiting to be junked.
We have a 14 Altima with 55k on it. I am having my fluid changed here soon at 60k. I am hoping for the best. No issues yet other than needing new brake rotors I did that myself. It’s a great car and we love it.
It's now Sept 2021. I bought my 2013 Altima in 2015. Odometer shows 138,000 miles. I've never had a problem. My husband regularly changes oil, and transmission fluid checked regularly. Tires rotated, ac checked every season. I'm showing 33 mpg on my "smart dash".
I have a 2015 altima daily driver and even though I'm a honda guy in my dna I have to give credit where it's due. This car has been one of the best cars I have ever owned. Trust me I have no brand loyalty here so know what I say is truth.
I love my 2012 Nissan Altima. We've been through hell and back.

I have a 2017 Nissan Altima SV with around 64k on it and it is still running strong. I recently got the battery changed and still running super nice. Haven’t had a single issue with that car yet. I love it

I own a 2010 altima with 190.000 miles. Replaced catalytic converter once other than that no problem.
I've had a Frontier Pro 4x it has been a work horse 🐎! No problems whatsoever! It has plenty of horsepower & can tow 6000lbs which I don't have a need to but I can if needed. It has gotten 25mpgs on highway miles with the Hypertech tunner I've installed on it. So I don't understand your video it seems you're getting info from other sources & not your own experience.

I can't deny people have had problems, but my family has been blessed those far. We have 3 Altimas. Me and my son have 2014's SV and my daughter has a 2015. Mine is the only one with and issue so far, I've had the nav/radio module replaced at 73k and the passenger side rear airbag at 70k and just to day my sunroof stop working. The dealer covered both the nav/radio and airbag. I currently have 143K on mine, still looks good and runs good. I will say that I've serviced my transmission at most all of the scheduled intervals, that's the key with the CVT. Don't skip the trans services, it's unforgiving, and I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself especially if it's still under warranty.

I have owned 2 Altima's and not much of any issues except the old one which had over 200k on it but now I just bought a 2022 and these Gravity Seats are definitely comfy and it seems like Nissan has improved with almost everything from 20 years ago lol. My 22 only has 1k miles on it so I can't say much about issues or how the AWD works as I bought it right after the snow left but I'm definitely enjoying the comfy ride so far.
I have a 06 Altima 180 k plus on it still using it as a daily driver I've had the shift lock cable issue so far but it was a bad fuse other than that it just keeps going as long as I maintain it . A couple of weeks ago I started losing coolant ,a small bottle of kseal $5.99 fixed it right up although it was a small leak I hope it lasts.
Love my black 2018. Transmission has been working fine and one thing good about CVT’s is smooth acceleration and MPG. Hope I don’t jinx myself!
The problems start when they get to 130,000 miles. Sometimes sooner.

I got "lucky" with a 170k with no problem after buying at 27k miles used.

I have a 2013 with 147K and it has been fantastic! Not a huge fan on the transmission but this car can move. Suppose I got lucky with mine but I LOVE it. Owned several cars and this video should have a Volkswagen or a Chrysler product in it instead:)

my parents both got 2013 altimas when they were new. my fathers was fine and lasted over 250k miles while my moms was a lemon. the warranty was really good though, so they set her up with a 2014 camry
I Bought an Altima 2002 a few months ago with more than 152K miles and I don't have any problems with engine, I made a good maintenance and filters change and it seems that this Altima had always a good maintenance. Use synthetic oil 10w30
I have a 2014 Altima SL. I bought it in Jan 2021 with 90k miles. Still driving okay. As of right now in 2023, I have 111k miles on it. I had the transmission fluid flushed and refilled around 100k miles. And of course regular oil changes at the Nissan dealership. It’s never gave me any problems. Although they aren’t the fastest cars and initial acceleration can be very slow at times, and when braking it jerks and shakes at times, I have no complaints. The car is paid off. So I plan on keeping for a while then I’ll eventually get me a Lexus Ls500. 😊

2013 SL 175k, regular maintenance, never as much as a check engine light. The worst issue was a tire pressure warning that Belle Tire fixed in 15 minutes.
Got a 2007 nissan altima it has 185,000 miles on it. Ive put about $1,500 in new parts on it but it is an awesome car. I drive it everyday.

The 2013 was the first year of the model change ( 2013-2015). I bought a used 2012 and it’s awesome. It’s the last year of the previous model change (2009-2012). Before that I had a 2009 Altima and drove it 200 thousand miles with only a leaky oil pressure sensor problem and a rattle from a loose heat deflector on the exhaust manifold behind the front grill.
I have 150 thousand miles on my 2012 Altima and so far it’s been perfect. My wife loves it.

The generation of Altima you're referring to actually sold from 2007 to 2012, with a mid cycle refresh coming for the 2009 model year.

My 2015 has 257k miles doesn't leak or burn a drop of oil between oil changes. Change synthetic/filter every 5k, CVT every 40k, coolant every 50k. Spill and fill.
I have had a 2012 Nissan Altima since new, it's still new and it has never given me any problems, thank God. Their maintenance is up to date.
I also have a 2012 Nissan Altima, but new used, had it since August 2020, and I had no issues since then, and I follow up on the maintenance, especially having the oil change every 3000 miles, and I also have a 5 year warranty on it!

Still have my 2010 with 135,000 miles no problems other than normal stuff you would do like oil changes and had to get a new battery but had the same one for along time and only pay 130 for full coverage going to be giving it to my grandson for he can drive to back and forth in high school hopefully he respect the car and the car will hold up for him.

I have a 1996 Nissan Altima GXE Special Edition that I recently bought for $1500. One owner Florida car. It was my 84 year old great aunt's car. Sadly she past away and her son (which is my cousin) sold it to me. I didnt mind paying him $1500 for it because it is in like new condition. And, I am very familiar with the car. Seeing her drive it Georgia sometimes when she visits. It has been in the family since new. Very clean, never wrecked. All the factory coating underneath and on the engine is still there. Sticker tags on wires and lines still present. It has 103k miles on it. Its green with beige leather and sunroof. Tinted windows. My cousin had it fully serviced at a local Jacksonville Nissan dealership prior to selling it to me. I drove that car back to Atlanta, GA without issues. I drive it daily to work and it still is reliable.

I would avoid the 2013s they had CVT problems, had a 2007 it was great bypass the 2013-15 version bought a Rogue instead didn't have time spending all day in the shop getting runarounds now I am very happy it after 5 years going on a great vehicle no problems other day had 23,000 mile oil changes rides smooth still on original CVT so far no problems with it AMEN!!!!

@@jeffreya8329 well never had problems with any of them if did bought a 4runner or Avalon, they are going to divorce Renault and move on all because Carlos Ghosn so at least see more improvements they are trying get better after he is out of their sight should merged with Toyota instead as before.
As a Nissan technician of over 20 years, I have replaced/rebuilt more Rogue cvt's than 2013-2015 Altima's. They had cooler issues and multiple campaigns/tsb's for the Rogue
Got put into one of these by the dealer when I was 19 and stupid. They tried to yoyo me with a new loan and I happily gave em the car back. After a week I did some research and was terrified of the terrible car I just purchased

I have 2 2013 altima 2.5 s one I sold and the other I keep the cause of cvt transmission problem is the fluid NS3 that causes the chains and belts to slip and causes the transmission not to get full acceleration and causes the rpm to Rev the cause is that people turn the car and take off not letting the transmission to warm up. use Amsoil cvt transmission fluid it really works and you don't have to worry warming your transmission to start driving. to avoid engine problems change the pcv valve.

I have a 2013 I had my trans recalled so I got it replaced for free and I don’t think the engine problems reflect on the 3.5 as much as the 2.5
I'm interested in buying a 2014 with a replaced recalled trans due to CVT failure. The warranty ended in 2020. I love the car but scared to purchase. Have you had any issues with yours?

Had two recalls and a transmission failure on my 2013 altima. Got rid of it and leased 2018 sonata. Cant be any happier w my choice since.

@@calgary2800 sentra was falling apart and paint peeling in less than 4 years. 350z the window motors failed so many times I had to fix them myself, burned oil, and if course the nissan dealership was never helpful with terrible customer service. I would stay away.
@@Daniel-tv9tb I have a 2009 Cube, 80k now. Not one cent spent on anything but normal stuff like brakes, oil, lights. Guess its luck of the draw. I change my CVT fluid every 50k, I read its the fatal flaw of Nissans the CVT. I do like how Nissan drive in general. The Versa Note and Rogue I rented at the airport have been excellent rides.

I currently own Nissan Altima 2014 model. It has 230k kms on it. Its a 3.5 SL V6 CVT GCC spec model.
The only issues I had since car being driven this high (mostly highway) and being 8 years old are the following:
1. Shift lock switch failure.
2. Sun visor making fracturing noise.
3. Dash board touch screen stopped working. Have to use buttons to navigate.
Other than that the precautions I regularly take are:
A. change CVT oil every 40k-50k kms to keep it well lubricated.
B. Always change engine oil every 8k-10k kms fully synthetic.
C. Spark plugs every 80k kms.
D. Air filter every 15k kms.
E. Engine coolant every 200k kms.
F. Brake fluid every 80k kms.
G. Power steering fluid every 120k kms.
Lessons learnt:
Don’t follow what dealership is asking you to do.
Follow owners manual for exact details. (Beware owners manual doesnt show when to replace the transmission fluid) dealerships say to never replace it, as it is lifetime oil.
DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM.

I just got my 2016 Altima back in September it just hit 90k miles earlier this month. So I had the cvt reprogrammed back in October.
Did the programming make it shift different
My 1st Brand New Car was a 2015 Altima S that was Rebadged as an “SL” & Added Leather by The Dealership so They could charge more. The Dealership Ended Up Having A Huge Lawsuit about it so I ended getting The Altima Paid Off After Only 5 Months of Ownership & I Traded it right back for a Red Pre Owned 2012 Toyota Camry SE-V6 & Got $1,500 Back from The Altima lol. Then 2 Years later I got T-Boned.. I was hurt but I ended up buying A 2017 Nissan Altima SL-V6 & Loved It! Had a year and gave to My Little Brother For Graduation now I Drive A 2018 Ford Fusion Platinum 2.0EB.. Now I’m looking for My Next Sedan!👌🏽😅

I own a 2012 Altima and have owned it for over 11 years. No problems with that car.
mine is 2014 nissan 2.5 ls with 175,436 miles made a trip from kansas to san francisco , dealer maintend all this years never had a problem 👍
Most of those with a problem are those who don't properly maintain the cars but want to blame the manufacturer.

I abuse the hell out of my 3.5 V6 2015 and its running brand new, but overall the Altimas that have most issues are the ones that run the 2.5
I have an offer to buy a 2015 like new 20 miles, for $15k. 2.5 S is a no go

Owned a 2011 for several years, no problems!
The wife and I on a 2014 3.5 with less than 68000 miles we have taken it in twice maybe 3 × 2 the dealer for them to correct the transmission every time we go when they extend the warranty on the transmission. Well as long as there willing to fix it when it needs the wife and I don't mind because we absolutely love the fully loaded luxury features and the incredible pickup that this engine can offer in sport mode.
What about the 2005 Altima Where does it fit in?
I have a 05 Altima with 178,600 miles, and still running strong, i drive this car every single day from home to work and i dont really have any major issues with this car
Own a 2014 Altima S , 267,000 miles no issues. still runs good.

@@jhicks8829 Honestly, I wouldn't buy one. Altimas have a lot of issues. I had good luck with mine. if you can afford a brand new car go for it. even if is the cheapest car in the market. after 100k trade it in and get a new one . (used car = headache).

As someone who has worked for Nissan and other various dealerships, Nissan Altima have terrible transmission problems even if u take care of them, u have no idea the amount of cvt transmission I’ve replaced in my time
Had to replace the transmission in my 2014 around 120k miles. Those Nissan CVT transmissions are crap. Sucks
My 2015 with 121k is still going strong!! Just have to do routine maintenance and you’ll be fine

I own a 2015 altima, transmission gave out and was replaced under warranty at 50k miles. I know have 100k miles and I have the check engine light and traction light. Even though I always give the car the best services:(
Gave out at 50k? Something doesn't seem right, no Nissan vehicle should go out at 50k (unless you gotten a lemon) I currently have a Nissan Altima 2012, had it for a year, and I had no issues other than the axle boot leak on the passenger side, had that fixed a month ago, and also only had the transmission fluid changed 3 months ago, so I was good for another 30 to 60K

2013 L33 was the 1st gen redesign so of course it's going to be rough until they workout all the kinks with the following models. I tend to like the L33s over the L34s eventho the L34s are better.

If you own it get rid of it. Last time I had that happen to me was a Chevy impala with 60k miles on it that slipped once and then the next day the transmission completely failed. Was able to get it rebuilt but it never drove the same. Save yourself the headache and upgrade.
I have a 2006 Nissan Altima bought it brand new and I still have it 160 miles still running ..
The only thing i dont like from nissan 2015 is the look of and and the head-lights get very yellow
I've got an old Nissan Altima that has been amazingly reliable. And according to the chart he showed, I got one of the best years for the model, 2004.
I had a 2008 Altima 2.5S that didn’t die until 336k miles. The trashing on Altimas is completely unjustified.
I've owned my 2016 Altima SL for going on 5 years now. Zero major issues and its been one of the best cars ive ever owned. I initially bought it in a pinch and planned to sell it in a year, but irs been super reliable as a daily so why sell? Just hit 100k and drives like new.
I dont beat it though. I dont floor it at green lights (its a 4 cylinder 😂) and i always do routine service.
Just had to sell mine at 2015 @ 102k. Delayed acceleration. Got a got price and got a Lexus. Thanks Scotty (rev up your engine)

Same thing in my 2017 68k that delayed acceleration is random and scary I brought it back to the dealer but unfortunately like I said it happens randomly and after turning the car off it seems to disappear

Well i have a 2007 nissa altima wit 179k mi and it still run great..it had 30k mi when i purchased it..i just bought 2019 wit 23k mi hope it last as long S my 07
I love this model year but Nissan unfortunately lost me with the CVT in their cars.
Got a 2013 2.5 240k miles never changed the CVT fluid. Maybe that’s the trick.
