I would definitely like to see the side by side comparison and the whats for dinner test.
Bought my M9-A2 MF a few weeks back, loved this handgun. Shoots great sights are very easy to get use to, all around a great handgun!
Hello from Brazil. Your reviews are great. I was expecting this gun. Thanks Graham!
Hi from Argentina! I really like your reviews. This Steyr M9-A2 MF is beatiful.
I bought a C9-A1 based upon UA-cam reviews with yours carrying the most weight. Glad to hear most of the changes are cosmetic: a Talon Grip grip over the smooth-ish grip made mine very nice. Except, yes, the trigger. Lack of much reset seemed like it might be a potential problem but, in use, my finger automatically goes out to the average reset distance and I’ve never had a problem.
I’d like to give a big thumbs up to the sights. I have both an astigmatism and my eyes are 3° off on the vertical but they locked onto the hex sights beautifully and very noticeably. I had my cousin shoot it and he really liked them, too. I’d hope people don’t discount the gun due to the sights and give them a try before Pooh-pooping them. I kind of wish Steyr had used paddle mag releases as I really like them on my VP9 but I understand why they didn’t.
Can’t wait for the range review!
It's amazing how many pistol brands and models are obscure in the US only because of marketing. You tried the BB6. The origins of this Steyr are with the same designer. There are excellent firearms out there that are just not marketed much in the US, yet are occasionally available.
They're readily available if you know where to look.
I imagine Steyr has as much production as they have capacity.
Focusing on a smaller market (LEO and Europe) is probably simpler than taking a deep dive into a market where a chance for higher profit loses in the balance of a defined investment in facilities and payroll.
Remember that even if you don't like US labor law, it's more challenging to be an employer in Austria. Much.
@@JD-tn5lz Yes, they are readily available, but relatively obscure to most mainstream buyers here in the US I think, mostly because they are nor heavily marketed here. When I said occasionally available I meant they are not steadily imported. They seem to come in batches or waves. Generally speaking if you want one, you can get one.
Crafter tip: take a small tritium vial (like for fishing lures) get one either white or red (or whatever floats your boat) and make your own night sight with your futuristic front sight 😉
I actually read the last part of your disclaimer for UA-cam....what a burn lol. Also a great video. I got to hold one of these the other day and it has quickly put itself to the top two next guns I'm after.
Most excellent, I have always considered purchasing one of these. Waiting for the range review now.
Get it you won't be disappointed. I bought one for $566 @ Gun Prime. Worth every penny.
Fantastic video 😁. Definitely going to be purchasing this pistol. We have a 40 caliber and are amazed by the craftsmanship.
Thank you again for these fantastic videos. Happy Thanksgiving too you and your family 🙏
Finally! I've wanted to get my hands on one of these so bad
Excellent review 😃. Definitely a solid pistol. Thanks again for sharing your expertise.
Absolutely!! Side by side comparison please Graham.
P.s i love this channel.
Greatest Review,Mr.Graham!
The pistol is Very easy an use.
Lord Bless your life and family.Enjoyed this vídeo.
That is one sexy looking hand gun! Looking forward to your range footage!
The staff I have dealt with during a customer service question have been fantastic!!! Great pistol that is sadly unknown to most people.
Unfortunately Steyr seems to have abandoned the gun.
Underrated gun. Trigger, sights and ergos are excellent.
Buy it and thank me later
They did buy it, and with their own $$
@@Kratos_God_of_50_BMG ok
I bought one. Sold my Glock.
@@p47rr I can’t find it in me to sell anything… maybe my Garbo Kimber eventually. But you will enjoy this one.
Man, picking up a C9 A2 MF on Monday. I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited to pick up a firearm. Out here in Arizona, they usually retail for $700+. The one I found is gonna set me back $450. I am not a striker fired pistol guy. I love my DA/SA pistols. This one pistol has made me want one bad. Taken me over a year to get one that is at least reasonable in price. Thanks for the video!!!
I hope you like the gun!
Great review. Thanks!
I absolutely love my M9A1! I just wish there was better aftermarket accessories available.
Hi Graham.
Could you please explain the mechanics of firing pin block / drop safety in this pistol?
I've always wanted a Styer pistol for years but never seen one in a gun store before so I guess I'll have to order one. Thanks for the review.
man i have 3 Steyr Pistols Buds Gun Shop check them out
They keep improving what is already a damn good firearm!! And still in the $500 to $600 dollar range
True meaning of low bore axis , very low slide . Healthy polymer all around . Another gun that i want to own someday. overall ,, its different than the rest of striker fired pistol. Thanks for the review.
Yes and no visual trick like the CZs, this is actually lower.
I bought the M9 but I really wanted the L9, it is really growing on me and it's surtainly different than anyother handgun in my small arsenal.
Actually it has a removable chassis, just like the P320. It is in fact the one to has such a design. I think no one notice it because for a consumer there is not a lot you can do with it. Which is the same as P320, but no one want to admit it.
The paper is to absorb moisture, rather than the packets.
Great video and review. Table top can sometimes get long winded in other cases but keeping it short & relevant here.
It's amazing what not pushing patches, sponsors, or other agendas can cut out of a video.
I had to buy one. So many features. And the price was under $400 brand new on sale.
Any update on if the trigger has smoothed out overtime? Or does it still have that crunch after the wall?
Your video on the S9 A1 showed some lack of case support on the chamber. Good to know they fixed the unpopular feature.
I was hell bent on buying the 3.8" C9-A2 MF or the 4" M9-A2 MF but the extreme lack of any accessories (like literally any kind) or even a holster was a huge turnoff, considering I had planned on carrying this! Plus, the MSRP and the actual price that I came across, was literally a $50 difference......
LOVE Steyr, unhappy with the current issues. Great tabletop as always guys!
Just don't drop the mag 😉
If you mean like you compared the Archon and the Stryke B than yes, a side-by-side would be great 👍🏽
I have full setup including micro dot sights on my steyr mf. Orpaz defense makes a magnetic light holster that will fit the full size steyr. Wish i could put up a pic for you guys. It didnt take me 2 days to find a sight, 800 strobe light with night and day laser and a one size fit all level 2 retention holster.
I really love my steyr pistol will never get rid of this gun
Nice gun wonderful gun steyr one number pistol
Looks like after seeing that I will probably end up with a Walther PDP or a sig P365X. Good information on the Steyr.
The PDP is a great choice
The trigger breaks in to feel just like the old ones it’s the same trigger
“I’m not cursing anyone, that’s actually what it’s called.” 😂🤣🤣🤣
Just picked this pistol up from Palmetto State Armory for $399. On clearance half off.
Mine is the fuller size 4” barrel
Thank you for answering our Steyr pleas! I have a quibble and a question: First, that slide removal lever should only be lowered to about a forty-five degree angle---there is a line under it on the fame that shows that. Lowering it to ninety degrees like you did is only for removing the trigger chassis, or accidentally dropping it out. Second, why is there SO much UA-cam anxiety over "trigger reset?" If you are actually shooting the thing you would never hear it, even if you had earphones on; and you surely would not "feel" it while the pistol is recoiling. It is the MOST amateur of UA-cam "experts" who are the most concerned with "reset" and you are NOT THEM. Any revolver shooters don't give a fart about "reset" because their fingers are trained already. Myself, I prefer the original M9---it was perfect for those who don't care about a mounting rail! PERFECT!...........................elsullo
Thank you. I think it's because trigger reset is a part of training for so many people. Learning to shoot fast, shoot tighter groups, or just the simple audible or tactile confirmation that the gun is ready again. This trigger did trip us up a couple of times in our Shooting Impressions video.
Purcchased a C9 and love the way it feels. but the safety trigger has been an issue, it does not drop back into position, contact steyr to see how they want to handle theis issue. you video also showed that happening. 1776 video shows how he fixed it little excess palstic on the safety trigger slide area.
Anyone know who is selling holsters for the mf. I have not been able to find one that is IWB and light bearing. We the people holsters has one but its not light bearing. Or does anyone know if the new pic rail makes it hard to fit the old holsters?
Challenge is on.👍☕😎
I own several Steyrs. Enjoy them all but don't carry any of them. No particular reason, they're fast on target and perfectly reliable.
IF you're an old-school shooter who prefers a more stout caliber, their offering in .357Sig (out of production now) is easily the best polymer gun in that caliber.
I love the looks of these pistols but just can't get past that weak reset. I wonder if that can be fixed?
I'm surprised they didn't go with a stronger return spring. I'm no gunsmith but I believe that would fix it.
If you are in a real self defence situation you won't be too bothered by whether the reset is tactile or audible 😁
My experience in Afghanistan was different. Even though it was a war zone I was cogniscent of what was in front of, behind, or near my target and wanted good trigger control.
@@conlaiarla right 😆
@@conlaiarlavery true.
Are those dryer sheets? So your schtyre schmells like schnaaps! Sehr gut
Great review and interesting pistol.
To bad you have to do all the extra steps to appease the UA-cam troll police.
And they've automatically demonetized the range video for "modifying a firearm" I guess when they saw us insert and remove a magazine they thought it was modifying.
Trigger pull weight?
The only thing I wish was available is an optic ready version
I'm guessing that the trigger difference issue is down to the A1 being shot much more. The A2 should be the same trigger or at least if I had to guess. Could be wrong? Either way this pistol will be my next purchase. I'm a sucker for what most folks consider "odd man out" pistols. Basically non main stream firearms.
Then you'll enjoy this channel, we cover a lot of the stuff other channels don't.
Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹 It's an Excellent pistol.. hopefully Steyr will adapt it for a red dot and the option of a lighter trigger would be welcome.
Hofen Wir auch, aber ist Steyr US egal was die Leute willen.
@@GBGuns lighter trigger but, definitely with better reset, HD/night sights and red dot ready options.. oh and alien gear/survivalland holsters too 😉
Great
Well, I might have made a mistake, lol. My local store has had an M9-A2 MF (Or is it an L9-A2?) in their case for the longest time. Being left handed, I kinda ignored it because the idea of a duty size pistol that isn't ambi seemed silly to me. Well, I decided to ask to handle it the other day, and now I absolutely HAVE to get it. Never in my life have a held a pistol and felt like it was molded to my exact hand, not even HK's VP9 or P30 lines were able to do that. I don't know what kind of sorcery Steyr is practicing, but they should probably share their knowledge of ergos with Glock, lmao.
About the only ergonomics that beat a Steyr is a Walther in my opinion. These are nice guns, but the trigger takes some getting used to.
@@GBGuns Eh. I really really like Walther's guns, but I felt like this fit my hand a bit better. I didn't play around with the trigger reset too much, though.
The reset was not my favorite, but that's more a matter of personal preference than an issue. Get what works best for you!
Интересно,подходит затвор от старой модели к новой и наоборот?
Ne znayu
@@GBGuns А примерить :)
Do the M9A1 magazines fit the M9A2 ?
Yes but A2 magazine not fit to A1
You are letting up on the mag release button just a touch too soon. The mags drop free with no problems.
Well I stand corrected. I tried the small, medium and large back straps. The mags will drop free on the small and medium. But won’t with the large back strap installed. I use the medium so I never noticed the large won’t let them drop free before. My bad.
Just picked mine up new for $325 it was too hard to pass up.
And the mag release is reversible
What holsters does it fit?
Orpaz defense magnetic light holster. And the tactical recover holster for glocks
Had an L9 and angle was deep and the sights were not for me... Sold it.
Ha, thanks for pronouncing Steyr correctly. Now if everyone can start saying Heckler und Koch, Walther, and Mannlicher in the German pronunciation.
I've been curious about these since I love the AUG so much, but the grip angle looks even more extreme than a Glock. Is it awkward to point? I have to say I like the looks of the A2 more except for that weird hook with a hole punch on the trigger guard.
We address some of that in the second video. Unfortunately we didn't like the new models as much as the old, but we also only have a sample size of one.
@@GBGuns Gotcha, I'll check out the second video.
Interesting but, same weak reset?
Yup
Did you notice at the range that you had somewhat erratic case ejections?
No I did not, I usually don't pay attention to ejection from handguns. A lot of people seem to be confused about handgun shell ejection. It's not an active process for a handguns and highly dependent on the slide velocity, shell mass, and how firmly the gun is held. During the WFD portion it will of course look erratic as every three rounds is a different load with different pressures and case mass.
@@GBGuns Some people may be concerned with casings coming back at their face or forehead area.
@@SB-mw1bgWith most handguns that's a matter of grip and ammo selection.
This is one of the koolist lookin pistols ive ever seen, always wanted one back when the A1 came out. Unfortunately im here in commiefornia and only the original Steyr pistol made it on the roster. Crossing my fingers though and prayer to St. Benitez.
Why no Aftermarket support???
Probably low volume. There aren't many Steyr pistols in the wild, and even their US website is light on pistol stuff, like they want to focus on their hunting rifles more.
So, what would it need? They sell magazines and some holsters, is it not perfect?..................elsullo
😊😊👍👍
Great review, but you did make one significant error. The gun DOES have a modular--truly modular frame, and it has nothing to do with changing grips. It does have a chassis system like Sig, although Steyr did it first. Unfortunately, there hasn't been any aftermarket support for it in any way.
Or even Steyr support for it. Grand Power has been using a bullet stainless chassis for 20 years.
Good thing it comes with two, uh uhm 3 would be better
If Batman owned a pistol this would be it.
Glad they dropped the man licker part. Kinda puts a guy off..lol and people complained about grip zone. Need to shoot one.
Is it a toy? Like some kind of master copy!??
M9-A2 MF. The preferred Steyr of Samuel L. Jackson
how much cost it?
$566 @ Gun Prime.
Sweet, Two Steyrs in one vid? shut the front door.
What's for dinner aught to be cool.
That video is out!
🦅🔫💀🔫🦅
This gun is currently selling for $399 brand new 😳
No aftermarket support takes half the "fun" out of buying this for an EDC. Bummer.
Should be MG for multi-grip, not MF. Awful loose goose on your slide wiggle analysis? I guess slop will set you free 🤣

Before Arex Delta Glock clone, before the Mossberg MC1 copy of the G43, before the Taurus' Glock the PX4, when S&W
was sued for their near copy of the Glock we had the Steyr M9. This Steyr pistol never really caught on in the USA.
_IMO the M9 is just another good Glock copy._
Personally, I think why not get a Glock instead of another gun maker's Glock clone.
There are quite a few differences between this Steyr and a Glock, but I guess if all you're looking at is color and materials then yeah...They're all "Glock"...
@@GBGuns I believe a Glock engineer of some sort was hired by Steyr to help develop their polymer wonder 9 way back when. And some how Steyr's polymer, striker-fired, safe-action pistol 🔫 was very similar to a Glock (by having these three features tells you something). But yes, there are differences... why would you want a lawsuit like S&W on your hands ✋.
THE TRUTH The Steyr seems like a Glock prototype and will always be second 🎻fiddle to the more developed Glock.
Lol, how do you figure it's second fiddle?
@@GBGuns Acceptance and by users (military, police, and civilan). The Steyr and all other Glock close copies are 2nd to the Glock. This is well known and so I an not sure why I am getting disbelief from you.
Anyway, God bless 🙌 you and this is just us talking so no worries.
Glock outsold the other by offering their guns at stupidly-low prices to agencies, that's why they were chosen. Take it from someone who 15 years on active duty: equipment isn't adopted because it's the best, it's adopted because it's the cheapest or has a factory in the right Senator's state.
