You can argue Evija is 500KG heavier than Exige but it's also 500KG lighter than competition, you can argue Eletre one ton heavier than Exige but Eletre is on par with petrol SUVs and much lighter than electric SUVs! Find me an SUV does more downforce than Eletre.... There's non.... And that's Lotus DNA (Lightness + Aerodynamics), and all Lotus cars including Eletre deliver that compared to competition

The Chinese factually have the largest market share in many huge nations in smartphones. DJI is the biggest drone company i know of and that is Chinese. One doesn't have to like the Chinese but they are world leaders in electronics (obviously not all subsectors). I'm Indian and we've had soldiers die in border skirmishes with the Chinese so obviously I don't like them too

I think the smaller EV will sell better just like the Macan has for Porsche. I would not go for the Eletre but would be interested in a smaller EV from Lotus.
Targeting 2000 kgs. If they manage, that will be decent. Won't be the most roomy EV at that weight, of course. Similarly large EVs externally can weigh over 2600 kg and not get very far on a charge.

This is simply Lotus' Cayenne: the survival model. They will make this and another SUV so that they can keep true lightweight* sportscars alive and hopefully there is a bright electric future competition between Porsche, Lotus, and Polestar awaiting us all!
Pair reviews, nobody talks about cost of owning a car like this after warranty runs out. So many electrics there, the industry as very well showed us that electrics in cars do fail and fail bad. Nobody talks about how reliable their are ? If we care about environment for real, we need cars that can last last 20 + years with a decent price of maintaining cost. Otherwise people will just replace them with new ones every 5 years. Is this the plan for a better world ?
Buy a new model y, you won't need to change it for 10+ years ... maybe a battery change at year 10 but at that point you might get a rebate on your next battery pack

Nice looking.... But the EV6 GT is out in a few months... £58k not 100k and within 20 bhp. Whilst I love the idea of a top model 800+bhp Lotus... My sensible head will be getting an EV6 GT.
Look 60 or 70% of all porsche cars sold in the US in 1 year were porsche macan (timy corssover suv). A performance car brand full of 911 & other top cars. So that should tell you The world wants suvs now. And companies need to make cash. So its the future. But of course I prefer to own both. A luxury sports sedan for fun, and a luxury suv for bumpy roads on a day I want to relax and not feel anything. Too bad the rolls Royse and Bently suvs are oversized and boring heavy & not good off roaders compared to the market. I am interested in a future hybrid-Lamborghini Urus the best high end SUV in my opinion. Until rolls makes a slimmer prettier macan like SUV then that will be my pick, luxury, comfort, and some performance. I also can't wait for a black badge ghost hybrid electric. They said they will do a full electric but that's too boring honestly, at least offer both as options
I'm not saying it's bad but this is clearly a rebadged Hyundai Ioniq 6. I'm not sure people want to buy a Hyundai badged as a Lotus. Now that said I've had lots of trouble with my 05 Elise and I am having trouble now with my Ioniq 5. Getting repairs done at either dealership is a very long drive. I might add that I really like my Ioniq 5. There are a lot of things they did really well. Something's even better than my model Y. So I'm not saying it's bad. It's just odd that a Hyundai will be a Lotus.

I love how many people are judging this car. It’s a hateful thing. But that’s because people with lots of money these days are hateful people. People with money are mostly ‘new’ money, and haven’t cultivated good taste or style. Hence things like the Lamborghini Anus exist. Technically this isn’t actually a Lotus car anyway, it’s built by Lotus Technology, which is actually a separate company to Lotus Cars. Anyway, if enough rich morons buy it, that’s only a good thing as it’s not quite as vomit inducing to look at as the Lamborghini Anus and it’ll hopefully fill the coffers at Lotus Cars sufficiently that they can make proper sports cars that actual people might buy.
Well, that's the thing, people don't just dislike it because it's an SUV, they dislike it because it's not a Lotus, metaphorically and literally. Sure it was probably designed by some blokes in Lotus HQ, but that's about as British as it is. Geely buys Lotus, and then not long after Lotus suddenly goes and "wants" to produce a giant, hulking SUV? No coincidence there. Outside of the design labs, the rest of the car is Chinese. They haven't even tried to hide their influence on the Lotus brand, and that's what mostly upsets people. It's got a Lotus badge, but that's the only thing about it that's Lotus.

Nice looking.... But the EV6 GT is out in a few months... £58k not 100k and within 20 bhp. Whilst I love the idea of a top model 800+bhp Lotus... My sensible head will be getting an EV6 GT.

Look 60 or 70% of all porsche cars sold in the US in 1 year were porsche macan (timy corssover suv). A performance car brand full of 911 & other top cars. So that should tell you The world wants suvs now. And companies need to make cash. So its the future.
But of course I prefer to own both. A luxury sports sedan for fun, and a luxury suv for bumpy roads on a day I want to relax and not feel anything. Too bad the rolls Royse and Bently suvs are oversized and boring heavy & not good off roaders compared to the market.
I am interested in a future hybrid-Lamborghini Urus the best high end SUV in my opinion. Until rolls makes a slimmer prettier macan like SUV then that will be my pick, luxury, comfort, and some performance.
I also can't wait for a black badge ghost hybrid electric. They said they will do a full electric but that's too boring honestly, at least offer both as options

I'm not saying it's bad but this is clearly a rebadged Hyundai Ioniq 6. I'm not sure people want to buy a Hyundai badged as a Lotus. Now that said I've had lots of trouble with my 05 Elise and I am having trouble now with my Ioniq 5. Getting repairs done at either dealership is a very long drive. I might add that I really like my Ioniq 5. There are a lot of things they did really well. Something's even better than my model Y. So I'm not saying it's bad. It's just odd that a Hyundai will be a Lotus.

I love how many people are judging this car. It’s a hateful thing. But that’s because people with lots of money these days are hateful people. People with money are mostly ‘new’ money, and haven’t cultivated good taste or style. Hence things like the Lamborghini Anus exist. Technically this isn’t actually a Lotus car anyway, it’s built by Lotus Technology, which is actually a separate company to Lotus Cars. Anyway, if enough rich morons buy it, that’s only a good thing as it’s not quite as vomit inducing to look at as the Lamborghini Anus and it’ll hopefully fill the coffers at Lotus Cars sufficiently that they can make proper sports cars that actual people might buy.
Well, that's the thing, people don't just dislike it because it's an SUV, they dislike it because it's not a Lotus, metaphorically and literally. Sure it was probably designed by some blokes in Lotus HQ, but that's about as British as it is. Geely buys Lotus, and then not long after Lotus suddenly goes and "wants" to produce a giant, hulking SUV? No coincidence there. Outside of the design labs, the rest of the car is Chinese. They haven't even tried to hide their influence on the Lotus brand, and that's what mostly upsets people. It's got a Lotus badge, but that's the only thing about it that's Lotus.

Just another car for people who can't think with their brain. Only reason why fuel prices went up is because they want to bring up the price of electricity. If fuel prices weren't artificially blown up in the last year, it would've been much cheapper to drive diesel car than electric.
