I am blown away with how far lotus has come! Such a beautiful vehicle all around! Style with a purpose! By far the most beautiful piece of art a crossover can be, I think I’m in love.
Lotus or Chinese Geely? China are slowly hollowing out western companies and jobs. They cannot get traction with their own brands so they use western brands against us. This hollowing out will eventually empty out every single sector as they move all industries in house to China. Lotus knowledge will be sucked out and moved to China. The staff in the UK will be used and tossed aside. By buying a Chinese car, unlike any other purchase, you are directly supporting a Chinese Communist Party owned company. All car companies in China are directly or indirectly owned by the CCP. You are supporting CCP design, technology, and engineering. China are a self proclaimed enemy of western democracy and free people, that may sound like hyperbole but it is manifestly true. They are a communist/totalitarian regime. Partnership is not a part of their thinking process. It is the cover they use to slowly dismember western economies. They do not want partnership they want control and ownership. This is and will increasingly bleed in to political control and eventually erosion of western freedoms. China simply cannot allow freedom of thought or speech, it is not only antithetical but an existential threat to their regime. They need to extinguish freedom in as many places as possible. It is an innate need for all empires/civilisations to spread their model. We are walking ourselves in to totalitarian control. If you think it seems too far fetched then you need to think deeper and harder. If you think this process will be benign, you are wrong. China will slowly tighten their grip on democracy, it is already starting to happen, they constantly require other nations to limit their speech. On the current course, in the not too distant future, your government will be controlled by China, directly or indirectly, you will not be allowed to change your government, and your government will impose every single decision handed down by China. You will not be able to protest or question these decisions. You and your children will grow up without any freedom for the rest of your/their lives. As one example China forcibly sterilised and aborted their own women in the 80's, dragged them in to horrific surgeries, now the Uyghurs are being subjected to the same treatment.

Great review, this car design is beautiful, what a nice EV! Hopefully on the production car you will be able to professionally climb in the trunk to validate the dimensions!
Great review! One thing I think the real world drivers will notice are the two white pillows on the dashboard, making it hard to look at the road or maybe even risk being blinded by the sun reflecting in those cushions. On the other hand, might not need in-built air-bags… Maybe not a good combination with a car doing 0-60 in less than 3 seconds.
Oh, so the screen dims so as to avoid distractions? Shame the other guy who insisted on putting a bright bit of useless trim on top of the dashboard didn’t get the same memo …
Why didn’t Lotus imbed solar panels in that huge glass roof, which would extend the driving range, provide air conditioning power? What are the casualty-mitigation safety features? Do the headlights turn with the steering wheel?
From all the electric car .... This car stand above all ... you all the feeling from a normal car that I'm really concern about and a design that is just waoh ... If they can build a 7 seat with the same design and enough leg and storage space like the Cadilac, It will be amazing
Is it just me, or is the rear window wiper missing? Probably some aero-stuff, but not good for us people here in the north, where we have winter and sludge.
wow. I bought a 2006 pontiac vibe, i can fill it up in 3 minutes and it gives me 550km of range. Its also paid for as it was less than 500 dollars. People who buy super expensive luxury SUVs just to take timmy to soccer have a head full of rocks.
You are dead right. EV fanboys rave about features that ICE cars have had for decades as if they never did. And EV makers keep churning out all sorts of irrelevant gimmicks on their cars to distract people that they are paying a King's ransom for way less car.
So with 800v charging is Matte Rimmac’s team behind the technology and drive train? If it can charge at 350kW and charge up in 18 minutes. If ever we see 800kW charging then less than 10 minutes to charge would be incredible! Might make your hair stand on end though! Lotus doesn’t have any experience with electronics, they are simple engineering and dynamics. So if you do buy one who is going to look after it? Very important question. How can such a big car have such small boot? 400 litres from 5.1m? However, there is no doubt that this car has incredible design both inside and out. So well done Lotus and Geely. Looks amazing!
Size isn’t a deal breaker when u live in the USA this will fit anywhere in the country fine our cities streets aren’t as narrow as America was kinda built around cars vs Europe where cities were designed before cars
I think if you enjoy washing your car often, this car will be perfect for you. The tiers will kick-up rain, mud, snow and slush, and throw them through the conveniently designed holes in the body design, and on to the door panels and back bumper. Love the interior design tho.
I'm looking to cut my carbon footprint by changing from a car to a eMoped or eBike. Which one would you recommend or do you think I should just drive as my personal Transport?
Depends on your commute. I'm also looking at ebikes. Both are good options if you can use quietish roads. And will be insanely cheaper in running costs. But the prices of batteries are coming down fast, so it's hard to tell when to buy.
Advantage with eBikes is you can use cycle lanes, and parks etc. Also you don't need registration/insurance etc. Advantage with moped possibly faster and more comfortable, and maybe safer if you are forced to use roads, because people treat you like a motorbike (with more respect/less overtaking).
Yes I see a lot of similarity , I have just ordered the Ioniq5 and watching this I was thinking there are a lot of little things the same for a lot less money.
@@shaunmckenna1923 The Ioniq is Korean. Watch videos about how the 12v battery dies. Out of Spec Reviews has one. Then there's that Asian tester in Norway or Sweden who reports on bad thermal throttling. You usually get what you pay for.

Anyhow, at home, one could build a wall of super-capacitors, which would charge over time at small rate all the time, then put out 1 MegaWatt for 20 minutes, when car quick-charging is required.
Great looking SUV but ... It's too big for me. My Range Rover is already bigger than I would prefer to drive. Lotus have done well to get the weight down to "around two tonnes(?)", or 4000 Kg, so it's certainly much lighter than my Range Rover too. Impressive. But, again, ... Chapman's philosophy of "simplicate and add lightness" is seriously undermined. Weight, pretty good considering, but 'simplicate'?..The biggest problem with my Range Rover is the complexity that adds unreliability. Cameras in place of mirrors, unessasary and is hardly helping what they were deigned for... Something really bothers me with this design. Those massive holes behind the wheels, with no screen? What's the battery technology that permits 18 minute charges?
After that fisting, I'm not surprised it opened it's back end slowly !?
When someone shows a new EV, they need to start with: 1) Range 2) charge to full time 3) Price. Then proceed to speak on everything else
This approach is only for ppl who are familiar with ev solution.

Looks of interesting features such as aerodynamic and charging, but for a 'massive' car the storage would seem to let it down.
There is no way they can get this done in 2 tons. No way. 2.3 tons would be a huge achievement.
