Very excited to be doing this with ringfreaks with this car in July. My first RWD front engine car, but I’ll go light on the throttle when turning Did ringfreaks include this camera footage in the service?
The cars have loads of grip! Dont worry about it to much. Make sure the tires are warm and the track is dry. Leave the assist on for the first laps. I drive with the assists of because they interfear a lot when going faster. This is made with my own gorpo on my helmet! They offer inside footage if u want. Have fun and be safe!
Hi Vinnie. Nice driving. I am going for the first time in September and have already booked the E90 330i, but I might switch to the 328i because it is automatic. I was a bit worried that a turbo engine would be harder to control than a naturally aspirated. Which would you recommend? 330i for manual gear and smooth engine or 328i for ease of use with the gears?
Hi ! Let's start with the thing that all the RingFreaks cars are good to drive! No doubt about it. When it is your very first time on the track, then an automatic ist the best way to go. But maybe the Golf GTI would be a better option because of FWD. And still fast enough! I already did quit a few laps in the GTI, i have some video's of it on my channel. But when u are used to RWD then the 328i is the best option. Because of the automatic gearbox and the safety electronics its a great car to drive. The 330i is more analog and 'old' but if u like shifting yourself, go for the 330i ! If u need some first time tips, let me know and i will tell u how i think the first time should be.
@@vinniev8661 Thanks for taking the time to reply. I will ask them if I can switch to the 328i as it is the same price as the car 330 I booked for 10 laps. I am sticking with rear-wheel drive as I really don't like the driving characteristics of FWD cars. I am running Assetto Corsa at home with a BMW e36 m3 with race setup doing around 250bhp, with all assist turned of, I think it is fairly close in setup to both the 330i and the 328i. So at the time I get there, I should hopefully be able to use the track experience from the SIM to just be able to focus on driving and learning the car. The only part I am worried about is all the traffic, and perhaps if it's raining, which it hopefully won't be, fingers crossed!
@@habbersan ok ! Be carefull, even with 20947598457 laps in the sim the Ring will surpise u in different ways ;) The height differences and compressions are huges! So please don't be over exited in the first few laps. U for sure know where the track goes but the surface quality and break feeling is different.. The thing with traffic is always difficult. Try to look as much in the mirrors as u can. without distract yourself from driving. All the cars have a huge inside mirror! So u can watch all ways from only the inside mirror. Thats a good thing! When are u planning to come over?
@@vinniev8661 We are landing in Frankfurt on the 23th of september and will be in Nurburg from the 24-26th for VLN and TF. I just got Ray to change the car to the 328i so that is taken care of. I got two rounds of instruction first, just to get a feel for breaking points and general handling. The hard part will probably be if I have to drive off the line to let other cars pass. And yes I saw the big mirrors, very nice for overview. I think my biggest problem will be finding a somewhat quick pace while not going too fast. Driving in the Sim I am always on the limit, which is probably not a good idea in real life.
@@habbersan ok hopefully it will be dry! Because rain and vln rubber = ultra slippery 🙈 Instructionlaps are the best choise ! Good job. Then u will be fine for the rest of the day 👍🏻 When someone faster is coming for u, just pick your time! U cant disappear. But always make sure to use the indicator asap. If i have a feel for safety then u wont drive at 100% on the Ring 🤓 The track will scare u maybe a little, in a good way. To remind u that this isnt a videogame.

Hey Vinnie, I’m looking to trade in my Fiat 500 at the end of the year for another bmw and I’m wondering what your bmw suggestions would be this would be a track car as well as a daily driver my eyes are on a e92 335i, f30 328i, e46 m3 and Subaru BRZ, id like to stick with a bmw honestly, I had a e90 328xi for 6 years but sold her a few month back for a fiat for my long commutes
Hey! u mean how many turns with the steeringwheel for a max steering input? I think its 270° but im not sure :) it's not my car.. its a rentalcar from RingFreaks

I have never driven a 335i on the ring so i dont know.
The 328i has enough power to go round the track at a decent pace.
Sub 8 is pretty easy to do.
