Note on the insurance, here in the UK some insurers specifically exclude the Nordschlife, check your policy documents! (I noticed this first on my wife's old Citroen Picasso, all 1.6 litres 8V and 90hp of it, not exactly a racecar :-) )
Not to complain about your off season content, Misha, but this is the stuff your subscribers signed up for. Great video. I think your channel cultivates a feel and appreciation for the laid back attitude of the real car enthusiasts community. If it were for appreciating and respecting each other, not trying too hard and having fun with the right mindset, there would be drastically less accidents.
It’s always worth checking your car insurance as well. My policy has a specific paragraph in it that I’m not covered at the Nurburgring even though it’s considered a public road.
Thanks for doing this kind of video. I really like the fact that you think about the people who are not Nürburgring expert, I'm sure it will help a lot of people to enjoy their first Nürburgring laps.
@@thomasbryce1716 gotta find a way to live there a few months a year.. and every day on the track too! (ok, I can make any own pancakes but ill import the hooch. Care to join us?)
This video is so good. I'm convincing more and more friends to come to the Nürburgring and your latest videos are perfect to show them first impressions and give them the right mood for this.
Thanks for the tips (also those on some of your 'first time driving' videos! I was there last weekend and it all went smoothly thanks to a good preparation.
I never knew that there was two different speeds you had to do between an illuminated yellow and a waving flag yellow. Thank you for the information, top-notch as always.
Thanks for the tips Misha! Will actually be helpful when my car is finished, just heard that my dampers are still in backorder at Bilstein. Ordered other ones today and hope they will arrive asap so I can finish the car.
Misha, about the pad noise. I used to have track pads that were too noisy and I was feed up with the sound. I bought some titanium brake pad shims (are supposed to help with heat barrier for boiling brake fluid) but a side advantage of the brake pad shim is that it acts as a damper o brake pad vibration AKA that annoying sound of brake pads. I would suggest to give it a try, for me it helped a lot.
Great video Misha .!! I’m really excited and feeling a lot more confident to visit this month. I have learned alot on etiquette and behaviour on the track. The horror videos on UA-cam with aggressive driving and bad behaviour don’t reflect at all from what I can see 😎😎
6:40 I made this mistake 1 year ago on TT Assen. Was sooo exited that I send it on the first lap, broke my engine 1 lap later. Still can't get over that
GOOD Morning Misha.. 5:55am NZtime Its great waking up to new Vlog post..🙂 Informative & helpful video dude ! 👍😎👍 I so ENVY all you dudes who are able to visit & drive th'Ring ..AND meet the the Apex team! one of these days😉🙂😉 "ouch"..those squealing Brake pads bro ..😬😬 LOVE Ya Work bro💕 Godbless ava gr8 day🙂
Yeah, for me spending some time in that car park at the track entrance, meeting and chatting to like minded people was one of the highlights from the visit to Nürburgring. Oh, and going to near by village to get a sweinesnitzel for dinner :) P.S. back in 2016...
Thanks for this, good info! How much has changed for 2022? I’m just wondering about the ticket thing: so you can’t buy a paper ticket / ticket at the counter at all? You have to use your phone? But if you have an Apple iPhone it will not workbut rather you have to print it? And i’m guessing you have no local print out options? So basically you have to buy the ticket way in advance, like at your hotel if you can print it there? Sounds really cumbersome and troublesome…
Now in 2022 all ticket sales places are open. If you just want to go there once, go and get your ticket at ED gas station at Döttinger Höhe or the ticket shop at the car park roundabout.
Maybe you should keep the brake pads. This way, the people at Devil's Diner will know when you're at Brünnchen and get your pancakes ready by the time you get off of the track. When they're eventually open again, of course.
Hello. I have a question - as a guest on track day, is there any possibility to get a ticket with my personal time? I am not about to race or go fast, it rather would be a nice souvenir for me from this day
".. no big busses.." erm... are you thinking what I'm thinking? XD police car, tourist bus... ring a bell? Btw, after a lap (say when the parking lot is opened again) would it be advisable to go drive around for a few minutes before parking the car straight away, in order to cool down the brakes better? Last time I went to Hockenheimring TF, afterward my brakes become "uneven" or sth like that, since then it vibrates a little bit almost everytime I brake. Would driving around after a lap prevent this problem? (ofc except the obvious solution, upgrade better brake disc)
Who noticed that the silver car that goes past him right after the speed limit area is the same that was totally flat out in front of Liam Lawson’s and Alex Albon’s lap on the ring hahahaah ?
10:08 hmm.. 50/50 I know some guys which would not stay with us if they would not have worn a helmet. For example hitting the window e.g. Maybe just some heavy metal headbang moves before TF to improve muscles.😌
Great info Misha 👍 How about licencing for those of us coming from other continents, do we just show our country's licence or do we need a international licence to hire and drive a car ?
Cool to know the rules and tips! Thanks misha. Will you do a video about the track days? Do you do them often these days? Would be good for a ride along
Thanks for this Misha, really good tutorial. Would you say it's best to go early morning on the weekend or are weekday evenings okay? I've got plenty of trackday experience, but intend to drive around slowly as this track seems very narrow. Do you think it's safe enough to do so when there are more cars on the circuit?
Hey Misha , can you try to record a lap from the backseat with a longer lens sometime? Like the old Yellowbird record lap, It really shows how extrem the undulations are! (No image stabilization, cam fixed to the car)
I ask this of everyone who uses the track because I've been in an accident on the track. Please be patient. If a driver can't move to the right because he's already on the left as you approach him through a corner, stay five metes back unless you are extremely experienced. Speed can drop very quickly through a corner. An inexperienced driver clipped my BMW and sent me spinning. I hit the barrier so hard, I bounced off and flipped sideways before sliding into the opposite barrier. Be patient, be aware of your speed and most importantly, don't push if you don't have experience. I was fine as my car was caged and I had a harness with helmet. I should clarify, this happened a few years back.
In a next video, can you tell us which/who owns the Nurb, the benefits per year, and where is this money going ? yes i could make some researches but you're at the right place and you probably have some infos i wouldn't find. Thanks in advance mate
I will be very specific with my question. Is the Simpson Hybrid S Hans system (the one that can also be used with regular seat belts) allowed? Can my passenger have a bucket seat with "ears"? I know I am repeating myself, but, please, humour me. Very informative, thank you.
you say you cant have a massive wing or exhaust but what about evos and subarus etc and ive seen loads of beemers with fast and furious style wings on the track (one past you in the video lol) and also loads of cars with loud exhausts etc go on there!! at what point do these rules come in? like what is too big a wang and wats to loud a poop shoot?
Pancakes! Cannot forget Pancakes! Question is "What is Misha's favorite, plain, banana, blueberry, or something else?" Also syrup is the key. Maple, Coconut, or another flavor?
How much it costs to have you or other professional driver to guide you through the lap and is there a website or a place where you can schedjule such service?
I learned a lot, and found it interesting that you don't wear a helmet during TF due to HANS restriction. Question - what about instructor laps during TF? Will you wear a helmet then if the driver's car has airbags? Tnx
Rule number one, don’t confuse 3rd for 5th
2nd with 4th
Forward with reverse
Americans and Manuals...
At first try not to confuse Nurnberg and Nurberg!
@@ShatNdd Nurberg, are you sure ?

8:30 you cant have a wing
9:20 e46 with a huge wing casually passing by
thats just about big enough till its not Huge xdd
