I’ve always been amazed by her ability to control each situation, whether it be stage or interview. This particular performance, she had just turned 14 a month or so before, she was really taking us on that musical roller coaster she has become quite famous for. Great reaction. The videos were posted by VEVO in February, but the concert itself was filmed in mid-December, so she was still actually 13 at the time. Even more impressive.

Nice reaction again. You have to watch Riptide, performed by Grace at the Lafayette. This was prior the AGT live shows, but after her audition and golden buzzer. She did a free concert for her community. This video is great, showing how she commands the stage, introducing the band, addressing the audience and then starting Riptide, at around 5.20 mark. I'd say hold off on reviewing anymore GV until her new material comes out. I think it's going to be a big departure from even her most recent music on Letters Vol 1. I get the feeling she might even be reworking some of the material to catch up with where she is now in her musical space. I don't think some of her earlier fans will like it, but that's the music biz!

A nice short sumarization for most of her covers indeed is like you said "it's Grace" i mean, she definitely has this amazing ability to take a song, understand its meaning and convey it with emotion. She definitely makes it her own, although like you said, not taking out of the original core of the song...but it's definitely Grace...and tbh i for the most prefere her covers than the originals, they have more soul and feeling on them. Very good examples even than this one are "the a team" and "river"
Thanks so much Nina, this was lovely! It's an old performance but I always enjoy seeing it again and definitely one of Grace's best live versions. There are tons of older live Grace recordings, but I suggest you react one of her more recent (pre-COVID) live performances of a song from her #LettersVol1 EP - The City, it's epic!! Not related with the vid but if Grace looks this beautiful with short hair imagine her having long hair.
During a live stream she did whilst in quarantine Grace said she has performed this song so many times that she never wants to do it again. Shame, but there it is. You could perhaps enlighten me on how difficult it is (or not) to control the voice as it changes at the age Grace was when this was recorded. I'm asking this because some of the songs she did at the performance I felt her voice was 'breaking' more than usual. Still did a great job though!!! No hate, only love and admiration for Grace ♥

I have this theory that Ben has been the instigator of practical jokes on stage that goes back to her first tour. Removing the Ukulele from the stage before Grace came out, putting a broken Tambourine on stage. I also think grace started it. Back in Austin in '17 Grace interrupted Destiny's solo's two shows in a row. This time there are a couple they may have been jokes. When Ben comes and Grace turns and looks at him which means he probably was suppose to come in when you said you expected it.
